Because of this some players have been included in the Best Buys almost every week based on their numbers, but I'm sure you are all getting just as sick of reading about those same players every week as I am writing about them. So the Best Buys has now added a new section, the Regulars, who are the players that are constantly there and probably don't need any more written about them. This should mean more room for POD choices, and a bit more of a look beyond the more obvious selections.

While his scoring has been fairly inconsistent he is dirt cheap this round, and would make excellent cover for the remainder of the season. For those with Vlaustin still in their side it will cost only 30 grand to make the upgrade, even with his poor recent scoring. The Lions draw is also one of the best in the league from here, making him an even tastier option.

Mitch Clisby has been good so far for the Dee's, averaging 59 in the backline and seeming to lock down a spot in their 22. He burst his bubble last week and has seen a decent price rise as a result, but his current...
Anyways, the donor team for round 15 got one of Richie Benaud's favourite scores, with 2,223 (one point too many for the perfect *two* thousand *two* hundred and twenty *two*). This put us as 49,399 for the week, and at 26,170 in the overall. We won three of five leagues, and we're firmly entrenched in the top 8 in four of them.
I've never quite understood the English - they apparently love their cricket, but can't be bothered building grounds big enough for people to go watch it. Just heard the commentators say that Trent Bridge is a full house at 17,100 people. Being a Perth boy I can tell you that even the WACA holds more than that, and when something as important as the Ashes come along, they bring in temporary stands to make sure that more people can fit it!
Sorry, you might find me digressing a bit during this report. But for now lets get back to it. Our 2223 points for round 15 came on the back of 22 scoring players, an emergency outscoring all bar 5 of our players, and Thurlow standing in as captain after Gazza decided he needed a holiday (yeah, I know, injuries aren't funny, and I don't wish them upon everyone, but still….). The team breakdown is as follows:
Backmen:
Goddard 134
Hanley 117
Ibbotson 70
Heppell 69
Gibbs 59
Clisby 46 (Emergency, C-loophole)
Midfielders:
Pendlebury 154 VC with C-loophole 308
Selwood 151
Dangerfield 136
Griffen 107
T. Mitchell 106
Cotchin 104
Kennedy 96
Vlastuin 35
Ruckmen:
Nicholls 99
Naitanui 79
Forwards:
Kennedy 106
Rockliff 101
Zorko 92
Cox 83
Westhoff 64
Franklin 61
Bench:
Webster
Thurlow (C-loophole)
Ablett
Martin
Rowe
Currie
Johnson
Staker 110 (Emergency)
So yes, after hearing the news of Ablett out we gave Pendles the VC with the C originally on Griffen, but after the 154 from Pendles we decided to take advantage of the loophole and take his score, which turned out to be a great move as Pendles was our highest scorer of the week. Our...

<p style='font: inherit;]Sometimes I have strange theories concerned with fantasy football and its chief aim; the winning. More often than not they're completely irrational and should be dismissed without nary a serious thought.
<p style='font: inherit;]This one is different though. It's about fantasy synergy.
<p style='font: inherit;]Do the players play for the jumper?
<p style='font: inherit;]To give a personal example, every weekend I sit down, looked at some numbers on a screen and ask myself 'Did we SavagesBrandTM Football?' Invariably the answer is yes - because I drafted plenty of players that like to tackle, win the ball and get knocked out all in the same motion.
<p style='font: inherit;]Coincidence? Or synergy?
<p style='font: inherit;]It led me to ponder that the Jackrabbits' underwhelming form this year could just be due to their lack of pace in the midfield? That Mallacoota's success is born out of drafting a bunch of showy flankers who are given free licence? That the TLP should have given more thought to drafting Dane Swan?
<p style='font: inherit;]I dunno....this week's results.

Thank you to Bandit for the great round review which follows, and to Lenny120 for his usual diligent work on the ladder.
Round 12 was the Kokoda Track/Trail Round, which set out to recognise the Diggers who fought in the SP in WW2. Following in the footsteps of the Hawks in the AFL, this round will support the efforts of the Kokoda Track Foundation in helping to raise money for the health and education of those currently living on the Track.
The Kokoda Track Foundation provides health and education programs for children on the track who often struggle to receive basic medical care and schooling - a basic social need which is often denied through lack of funding.

Marble Bar 1238 v Venus Bay 1129

Marble Bar starting to hit their straps after an injury ridden start to the season. Some of the sources closer to the club claim the clubs home ground rock hard surface was leading to a lot of soft tissue injuries such as grazed elbows and gravel rash knees. The fine white sand of Pippie Beach proved to be a welcome tonic for the Misfits, who revelled in the softer conditions. Enright (116), Terlich (119), Steven (106) and Whitfield (110) lighting it up for the Misfits, whilst Shaw (100), Mundy (120), Pearce (101) and Kreuzer (136) tried valiantly for Venus Bay. Venus superstar Jobe Watson will be out for a few weeks after stepping on a discarded syringe at the water's edge in the forward pocket whilst Andrew Gaff looked like he really couldn't GAFF forcing coach Fitzy to take a week off to ponder his ORFFA dilemmas.

Foul Bay 1415 v Lovely Banks 1317

A match committee night out on the sauce left Foul Bay in a precarious position coming into the final games for the round against the much improved Lovely Banks outfit, however they managed to scrape through with the Pav (106) and Johnson (99) getting them home. Earlier on Adocock (103), Swan (148), Thompson (108) and Duncan (121) had given Lovely Banks a flying start, and the Hobbit...
So, it's all late and stuff and we're yet to get up a place to discuss the goings on of this week.

Be it, the late outness of Ablett, the injury to Jobe Watson, perhaps even the ironing that comes from Bombers supporters booing the player who injured him after spending all week deriding a group of supporters for booing him. Perhaps you want to discuss the Tunas moving back to the top of the Centrebet tree?

Maybe trades? I know that I am running bloody low! Perhaps the performance of Ryan Griffen?! Seriously, had a ton of entries for him this week!

Anyways, drop in and discuss the what's what of this weekend!
<p style='font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: 18px;]In case you missed it last week, we picked up a bunch of tickets to the Nissan Table (Thanks Nissan) at the Footy Show on 5th September.
<p style='font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: 18px;]Now, we'll be giving away one or two tickets a week, depending on whether or not the lucky winner wants to bring a partner along to our footynerdfest!
<p style='font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: 18px;]Anyways, this week, entry is simple enough, just email me who you believe will be this weeks highest SC scorer. Any entries must be entered in *before* that player has played.
<p style='font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: 18px;]Of course, only one entry per person, please include your TS username and also try to be over 18.
<p style='font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: 18px;]Couple of big games this weekend, and perhaps an interesting development around these parts.
<p style='font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: 18px;]Not from me persay, but there might just be anew chat thingto try out this evening.
<p style='font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: 18px;]Now, it's not hooked into TS just yet, but I'm sure things will happen with it in the future. Either way, check it out.

I don't want to be the one to say it (although I clearly am that guy), but it's come to that time of year where the inevitable divide occurs between those teams that are odds on to play in the post-season, and those that probably won't.

Does that mean mean it's game over for some teams? Oh hells no! There's still pride to play for (e.g sticking it up the other coaches) and for those teams that have acquired multiple 1st and 2nd round picks in next year's PSD, there's an U18 Championship coming to a close for those who like to be thorough in their scouting (let me know if you need a hook up of vision).

But first, results, results.

Griffen v. Greater Western Sydney

Rd 5 2012: 155 SC points, 37 disposals

Note: Managed to have a huge game last year despite being tagged by McDonald. He is in career best form at the moment coming off scores of 148, 143, 129, 176, 136, 101 and 171 (average of 143 from seven games). (Matthew Boyd also played well in this game last year with 133 SC points from 35 disposals (tagged by Greene) whilst Minson managed 17 touches and 30 hitouts on his way to 132 SC points).

Average is 126 SC points with 30 disposals.

Note: Five scores over 140 against Brisbane. A poor 75 in Round 7 2011 when he received a slight injury to his knee but kept on playing. He had been tagged by Raines in the past four games but still managed to average 131 SC points in those games. A disappointing 115 last week which had followed scores of 147, 153, 129 and 149 in the weeks prior (average of 139).
