For those who take it way too seriously
The Games
Powlett Plains 1382 d Wagga Wagga 1101
Powlett Plains continued on their merry way with a thumping win over the thus-far impressive Wagga Wagga Wombats.
Again, the veterans led the way for the Packers - Jolly top scoring with 136 in the ruck, Kane Cornes scoring 114 and Luke Ball 105.
Lachie Henderson chimed in with 108 in a wonderfully even effort.
For the Wombats, the Kanagroos' duo of Thompson and Bastinac led the way with 117 and 125 respectively. Prestia was next best with 109.
Foul Bay 1348 d Marble Bar 1221
Another even team effort saw the Chickens from Foul Bay score a comfortable, though not entirely convincing, win over Marble Bar.
Foul Bay were led by Dangermouse, Liberatore, Bartel and Roughead, though they enjoyed 14 players out of 15 scoring above 70.
For Marble Bar, it was an impressive effort which belied the Misfits' ladder position. Midfielders Ward, Sewell and Steven top scored, while Danny Stanley's even 100 marks a continued return to form.
Cradle Mountain 1210 d Lovely Banks 1082
For this section of the review I hand over to the eloquent coach of Cradle Mountain, dmandrews:
The visiting Lovely Bank Lilacs gave a brave but undermanned performance against the Cradle Mountain Devils, playing three men short and losing by 128 points, with a full team on the park it is likely that Lovely Bank would have won the match.
Three players from Lovely Banks were in the votes, Mitch Duncan, Dane Swan who spent more time in the midfield than the past two weeks and Craig Bird. Lovely Banks gave a consistent performance with only one player Andrew Krakouer scoring below 60.
Jack Redden was best afield for the Devils, scoring 149 points whilst his captain Scott Pendlebury has been a model of consistency in Rounds 8, 9, and 10 to score 118, 119 and 119 respectively, receiving Les W medal votes in each game.
Another four Devils including young gun Nick Vlastuin...

Got a couple of reviews to get us started, but we'll get more up throughout the day.
Regardless though, drop in- let us know how it's all treating you this week!
Brisbane vs Collingwood
Result: Collingwood by 49.
It was always going to be a rough day at the office for the Lions, what with half of their team out injured. And well, it was. That said, despite losing by 50 points, they didn't get their colours lowered in the second half, kicking just a few more points less over the period (al beit, with the heat already out of the game).
Jack Redden put in a good one though, with 22 disposals and a goal, he managed to collect a mighty 149SC off his 18 contested touches and 95% efficiency rate. Deadly performance. Simon Black and Dayne Zorko were the only other Lions to crack the ton with 115SC and 100SC respectively.
Patrick KARNEZIS actually showed just just why so many players started the season with him, picking up 18 disposals and 74SC, while Brent Staker did a fine job for the many coaches who brought him in this week, despite kist 10 touches, he still made a solid 67SC and plenty of profit thus far.
Brent Moloney had a bit of a shocker, subbed out with just 9 touches and 35SC, while rookie defender, Sam Docherty was subbed on for 37SC. Meanwhile, Marco Paparone picked up 15 disposals for just 35SC.

There has been a fair bit of talk over the week about people looking to trade out Sam Jacobs, and while he certainly is spudding it up I have personally noticed that he is now priced below a lot of my rookie cash-cows. Added to that the lack of good ruck options this week, and for my point of view I think he'll be better off sitting on my bench as cover until he can regain some form.

The Lions D/F is looking like an excellent pick, as he is now on the bubble and rookie priced, but with much greater job security and some good form behind him. The majority of SCer's will likely bring him in this round, as either a defender or a forward, but for very good reason: he looks great value. If Staker can remain fit, and avoid becoming the new Karnezis situation, he'll be a great pick-up.

As I said, 2139 for round 9, with a team that looked like this:
Backmen:
Goddard 104
Heppell 94
Lester 87
Vlastuin 87
Terlich 65
Thurlow 31
Midfielders:
Ablett 149 Captain 298
Dangerfield 123
Pendlebury 119
Cotchin 104
Goodes 86
O'Meara 74
Kennedy 56
Lonergan 21
Ruckmen:
Cox 108 (VC)
Leuenberger 84
Forwards:
Johnson 151
Kennedy 121
Westhoff 98
Franklin 98
Rockliff 69
Zorko 61
Bench:
Dixon 0
Webster 24 Emo
Neade 0
Crouch 0 Emo
Gawn 39 Emo
Currie 0
Macaffer 79 Emo
Rowe 0
A pretty average round from our ruckmen, with Goddard top scoring on 104, and some solid but not impressive scores from Heppell, Lester, and Vlastuin. The rookies of Terlich and Thurlow were a bit of a let-down, but they still outscored Webster on the bench, so no missed points.
In the midfield we kept the captaincy with Gazza, and were paid off with a 149. Pendles, Danger, and Cotch did their jobs, O'Meara and Goodes held up their ends as rookies, and Lonergan fell away, but the big miss was JPK with his 56. The only saving grace for the scores was that we had donuts on the bench, but it means that our cows aren't mooing, so upgrades may be compromised in the near future.
We gave the VC to Cox in the ruck, hoping that he'd kill GWS, which he didn't, so it was an easy choice to stick with GAJ. Leuey is starting to hurt us, but we may have bigger holes to fill over the next couple of weeks. Gawn scored some points on the bench to keep his price going up slowly, better than Currie who's still yet to pull on a jumper after all the preseason promise. Hopefully he gets a shot over the next few weeks with Majak losing his magic.
Our forwards, and our team, were led by Stevie J and his 151, meaning we missed out on a whole 2 points by selecting Gazza as captain over Stevie - don't think anyone will lose any sleep over than decision! Twinkle toes may be off his radar, and over-emphasising the twinkle,...

Round 9 (AFL 9) 24/5 - 26/5
Geek Pride round
Round 9 is the first of the returning themes of 2012 - Geek Pride round. Geek Pride day is on may 25th and we figure it is quite geeky to play in a fantasy football competition such as this
... There are actually quite a few significant days on the 25th and 26ht May that the geek's had to fight off... and they did.
With Chris88 unavailable to do a writeup this week, and nobody else putting their hand up to fill in, I have managed to put together a brief recap of round 8.

Sydney V Collingwood
Sydney by 47
The reigning premiers opened Indigenous Round as expected by smashing a very flat Magpie side. Adam Goodes played as you'd expect of a dual Chas winner on the big stage, gathering 30 disposals, kicking 3.2 for a massive 169 and three more votes. ROK (143) was all over the Pies with 14 tackles & 25 touches. Hitting the scoreboard were Daniel Hannebery (113), who kicked 2.1 with 31 touches, and Mike Pyke (100) with two straight. Scott Pendlebury (119, 28 touches, 5 tackles) and Luke Ball (101, 28 touches, 9 tackles) were the only two tons for the cold Pies. Brent Macaffer (79) is still mooing thanks to his new found role as the Pies #1 tagger, but a lot will have been hurt by it this week as JPK was tagged out of it with just 56. Super Sydney sub Jed LAMB is going to remain a rookie option for another few games, assuming he can shrug that vest. A green vest affected 8 didn't meet his BE of 30, and will see him drop next week to about $106K.
