Marble Bar 1044 d Nunawading 961
Marble Bar records its first win for the year over an injury-hit Nunawading team. A solid defensive effort by Marble Bar is rounded out by a starring performance from Jezza Cameron up forward. Meanwhile Ryan Lester played his best ever game for the Nuffers, gaining 5 votes in the Les W, while JPK, O'Meara and Mohr also scored well.

Lovely Banks 1015 d Gundagai 908
The lads from Lovely Banks notch up their first ever win in ORFFA play with a 107-point victory over a gallant Gundagai, who were 4 players short and still almost got over the line. Lovely Banks, unexpectedly hit by injury also this week, were led by Swan (5 Les W votes), Thompson and the mighty Canadian Myke Pike. For Gundagai, Jono Griffin again led the way, with support from ROK and Rockliff. Hardingham's effort might see him receive more playing time in the future.

Powlett Plains 1383 d Cradle Mountain 1321
The Packers bright start to the year continues, with a great win over the Devils. Old stagers Hodge and Nick Reiwoldt led 8 players in triple figures for the Packers, while Pendles' 161 was enough for 5 Les W votes, but not enough to lead the Devils over the line. Dale Thomas' 150 bodes well for future scoring for Cradle Mountain.

Charlie's Opening 1409 d Whitsundays 1031
The Spelunkers enjoyed a massive win over the Warriors, with 7 100+ scores led by Andrew Swallow in the middle. Petrie's return to form will also delight the Spelunkers' fans. For the Warriors, a number of players with down weeks - only Boak and Warnock reaching the ton.

Iron Knob 1482 d Gariwerd 1278
Iron Knob again went 'whack' with its scoring stick to comfortably defeat a game Gariwerd team by 204 points. Shuey, Harbrow and Ablett led the Codpieces with 130+. Christensen's 177 earned him 5 Les W votes in a stellar performance for the Cockies, while improved depth and performances from 'lesser lights' would be heartening for...

Other eminent footballing administrators - presidents, CEOs, Hall of Famers - are either too timid to say what they think or too compromised because their clubs are the benificiaries of significant AFL equalisation funds. So best not to rock the boat.

Many strategists and leaders over time have stated that 'the best form of defense is a good offense', or similar words, however they obviously weren't talking about SC. After a large chunk of the popular choices were either ruled out with injury last week, or played only to get injured, a lot of teams are looking for a good defender (or two) to try and block some holes.

Heater may have been better value last week, as a few pointed out in the comments section, but after a minimal price rise he's still looking good value.

The influential performances of inexperienced duo Steven Motlop and George Horlin-Smith, along with the promising cameo offerings of Billie Smedts, Mark Blicavs and Josh Caddy, have further validated the widely held belief that Geelong's list will not disintegrate once the majority of its premiership heroes have called time on their storied careers.
