That is the big question going into this match and one the Couldabeens certainly hope is the case and one the Savages will want to make a clear statement on this week. The strategy is simple, just score insanely well to beat them and Coulta will need to make up a couple hundred more points this week to do that.

Also Garrick Ibbotson has been awol since he was last seen entering Keplar Bradley's house. Zaharakis comes back into the side of Coulta which should improve their scores but Cassisi is still out and they'll be hoping to avoid the dreaded green vests this week....

Alright guys, first off, an apology.



This weekend, we had the notification system all good to go. All I had to do, was to log in with my phone and fill in each out.



Anyways, I tend to have a year holiday with the kiddoes over Easter to Bendigo, check out the dragons and all that. This year, we ended up doing the camping thing. Which was fun, there was fire, andmarshmallows and that drink guy who lives at the campground. You know, the whole experience.



What it didn't have however, was a certain phone- which went completely un-noticed until Saturdays games were to kick off.



So, long story short, a crazy dedicated fantasy coach did the responsible thing, going camping with his kids over the awesomeness that is watching round 1 unfold.



And boy, what a round it was! I can't wait to go over it in detail! Gaz, awesome. Goodes, awesome. Viney, awesome. Premium mid rookies... not so awesome.



Anyways, yeah, review. Can't wait- in the meantime though, you guys discuss how this week went, I'm gunna go and let the kids out of the car.

The trading landscape has changed this year. More so in DT, but still, with 30 trades in the other comps, there is a big change from the old 200 point rule of thumb.


And actually, if you think about it pragmatically, using only 2 trades in the first 5 weeks as tweak trades, you'll still have enough trades left to double trade every round but two. To you old coaches, I want you to read this article with that idea in mind.



200 point rule of thumb:



So why 200 points?



A little bit of history here, but basically, it's developed from the idea of an upgrade trade. You take a pair of rookies who are averaging say, 70ppg (points per game) once they've reached a price of $300,000.



Trade one down to a rookie, the other one up for a fallen premium who is priced at $500,000. Say that premium averages 110ppg for the rest of the season, you're looking at an increase of 40ppg over two trades. Or 20ppg per trade.



Assuming you do that in week 6, you've increased your total team output by 320 points for those trades over the rest of the season. You do that in round 12, and you're looking at a return of 200 points for your trades.



Historically, this is your upgrade period. With 20 trades, you have two to tweak early, 14 to upgrade over this period, then 6 left over to cover injuries. This year, you're going to have 16 trades remaining.



16 trades is a lot of injuries.



It is. And if you trade like previous years, you're going to finish the season with trades in your pocket. So what are your options?



Upgrade the bench: 8 trades to bring in premium coverage across each line. Less if you use DPP, is a noble goal and definitely one that you should do where available.



Cover Injuries: Think about the above- even if you use 8 more trades to upgrade your bench, you're still going to be rounding...

The popular choices were Cox who disappointed with 96 and Watson who posted an [span style='font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: 1.3; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;]impressive 126.



It is important to note, however, that this season, the loophole&amp;rdquo; continues during the[span style='font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: 1.3; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;]round as well. That is, You can change your captain and vice captain as often as you[span style='font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: 1.3; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;]like, prior to the start of the round and during a round and Rolling Lockout, up until the

time that your currently selected captain's (or vice captain's) match has started. At this [span style='font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: 1.3; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;]point, your selection is locked in for the round and cannot be changed.&amp;rdquo;



This means that we during the year, we can select a player from an early game in the[span style='font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: 1.3; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;]round as our vice-captain and, if happy with that score, remember to put the captaincy[span style='font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: 1.3; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;]on a non-playing player whose team is playing later that round.

Footy is back! And isn't it a good feeling?! I know that I, an Essendon supporter, will be walking into the office next week, standing that little bit taller. It's a funny game football. Makes you feel part of something bigger. Part of a community. And an extention of that, is our fantasy squads. Whether it's our all-out SuperCoach teams, or perhaps one of the draft competitions that have cropped up this year, maybe an office one, maybe one with online friends, or even a pack of online randoms scrubs that you're planning on destroying over 23 rounds- the feeling is the same. Footy is back, and it's as awesome as ever.




So, on that note, let's take a closer look at the two games this weekend, at both upsets, and see who has done what on the fantasy front.




Adelaide vs Essendon




Result: Essendon by 35.




What I find quite amazing from this game, is that Adelaide kicked the first 22 points of the game. Meaning that in three and a half quarters of football, the Crows were outplayed to the tune of 117 to 60. Quite the pasting.




Ben HOWLETT was amazing for the Bombers, playing through the middle and pushing forward had himself 25 disposals, pushed the ball inside 50 six times and also kick 4 goals 1 for an absolutely massive 164SC points.




Courtenay Dempsey was as smooth as silk all evening. Just 20 disposals for the night, but he was hitting long targets with a ruthless efficiency, setting himself up for a 124SC. Then Jobe Watson did what Jobe does. He ran all night long, got a truck load of touches and a big Supercoach score. Tonight, it was 34 disposals and 121SC. He was massive around the stoppages with 7 clearances along with 13 contested possession. Surely 2 or 3 brownlow votes here and he's...
