If we had a schedule that we kept to in rolling out the ORFFL team entry page, we'd probably be behind it. But we don't so it doesn't matter. You like ad-hoc? I call it community development.
So what I'm asking you all to do is bear with us until we get it up and running (TBD).
To enter your team for R1 you can either:
a) post it in this thread
b) PM it to me
c) email it to me
R1 2013 will work surprisingly much like R1 2012. Meaning:
a) players selected playing in this weekend's matches will be locked in as of 8:10pm ACDT, Friday 22nd March.
b) players playing in the RIC/CAR match will be locked in as of 7:45pm AEDT, Thursday 28th March.
c) all other players will be locked in at 1:40pm AEDT, Saturday 30th March.
The emergency loophole is in effect in this split round. For instance, if you want to select an Adelaide player as an emergency, find he scores well on Friday, and then select a non playing player in his particular line to reap the rewards, you're more than welcome to.
However...
CLUBS WILL BE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT A FULL SIDE OF 15 PLAYERS PLUS 4 EMERGENCIES.
Meaning if all 26 of your club's players play in R1, that loophole is closed for you. With great risk comes great reward.
AIRING OF GRIEVANCES/DISCUSSION OF RULES

At a glance, the post draft trade period/trade veto rules have been causing a bit of angst. I'll put my hand up and say that the post draft period could have been better organised, but was flat out over Saturday with a mate's bucks and then dead on Sunday because of it. Also, I thought it would run itself and there didn't seem to be much point making a new thread on Monday when it was going to be over the next night.
Regarding the veto rule, here's the history as I remember it:
The 50% veto rule was brought in pre-2012 season principally to:
a) prevent collusion and stop people from self-murdering their teams and putting the integrity of the competition...
How was the long weekend for everyone? Some good footy to watch, a couple of tasty rookies, and of course lamb on Labour day for us South Easterners.

Wait, the Lamb union has taken over Labour day as well right? Either way, it explains why this review is being posted so late

There were tight games, absolute blowouts and some tasty options, and this was just on Friday night! So lets take a closer look at what's happened.

GWS vs Essendon

Result: Essendon by 91.

The comments on the game will be short and swift. *cough*slaughter*cough*. It was an utter massacre, devastation, other synonyms. Seriously.

Essendon nearly doubled the possession count of the Giants, 404 disposals to 247, so without even looking, I'm thinking the Bombers will have a multitude of high scorers.

But we'll look at the GWS first. Taylor Adams did some good DT work. A lot of uncontested possessions, 18 touches in total, a bunch of marks and 4 tackles for a 77DT. Matching him on 77DT was Toby Greene who managed 21 disposals. Disposal efficiency will kick them both though, with 44.4% and 52.4% lower their SC scores.

Lachlan Plowman looked alright, but 14 touches and 63DT, while Sam Frost looks destined to average low 50's with a 53 this week. Might be worth a shake if he can guarentee games.

Not a great night for the Giants by any stretch, made worse with Jonathan O'Rourke and Callan Ward being subbed out injured early. I don't Ward's is too serious though, O'Rourke however has a history of hamstring...
Over the past few weeks, chriss88 has been previewing each of the 18 ORFFA teams[span style='color: #028bff; font-size: 12.222222328186035px; line-height: 17.98611068725586px; background-color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;]over in the forum.

I'll now copy and paste them all here, exactly as originally written...

Over the coming two to three weeks I'll be working my way through each of the 18 teams in our fair league, offering previews for each and looking at each team's key players, x-factors, question marks and recruiting in the lead-up to the start of the 2013 ORFFA season.

The previews are designed to prompt discussion, debate and a bit of analysis, while keeping things light and breezy.

I'll start tonight with the Battlers from Birdsville:

Birdsville Battlers:

Key arrivals: Brent Moloney, Jesse Lonergan, Shannon Byrnes.

Key departures: Sam Iles (again, why the hell was he delisted in the AFL?), Nick Malceski

Key players: The Battlers will be looking to midfield dynamos Marc Murphy, Brad Ebert and Daniel Wells to lead from the front in the middle. The defensive trio of Houli, Geary and Fisher will need to chalk up good points most weeks, while Sauce Merrett and Ash McGrath might lend handy support up back or down forward. Up forward JC will be hoping big Jono Brown can turn back the clock one more time, and that a focused Travis Cloke recaptures some consistent form.

Potential X-Factors: The drafting of Jesse 'The Hulk' Lonergan at pick 12 was hailed...
If you're like some people I know, you've got a fair number of teams under your management.

You've got your Supercoach team, your Dreamteam, you might even dabble in the multitude of other comps out there* (*To be in the next release). Heck you might even have your wives teams, kids, pets whatever.

What you do end up having though, is an absolute headache, and what you need is TooSerious My Teams.

So what is it? well, in short it's a way to track your teams, within TooSerious. Login, then click on theMy Teamslink up there. Create, then upload your team and you're good to start adding player. Or perhaps, take advantage of the auto uploads?

Certainly makes managing your teams a heck of a lot easier.

What it also comes with however, is a bye profile for your squad. Know where you have the holes, so that as the trades run through, you can adjust your squad to fit.

It also comes with a handy Team Ticker- which is essentially the individual ticker, displayed for everyone on your team, or watchlist.

Very handy.

Anyways, as always, check it out and let us know if anything doesn't work.

Another round of the NAB is down, and with it, we have some more data to paw our way through. As with last week, we'll be looking to compare player Dreamteam averages over the NAB cup with their current value, then working out the values again, if each player hypothetically played 100% gametime.

And of course, we have a link to the full data at the bottom there.

<strong style='font-size: 14px;]Rookies, Dollars per point[/b]

So, we'll naturally start at exactly who is the best bang for their buck. Of course, since rookies are priced at an average of around 20 points, while being given more gametime than they otherwise will, they will make up the vast majority.

Of course, it's also these rookies that step up when given the opportunities that get given chances when round 1 rolls around.

<p style='font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: 17.990449905395508px;]Cookie-cutter” is a term often used in fantasy football, particularly in the pre-season, to describe a generic team line-up. As with an actual cookie-cutter, if everyone uses them then all our cookies end up looking the same.
<p style='font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: 17.990449905395508px;]While there certainlyisn'tanything wrong with using cookie-cutter players, whom the majority of coaches will select, it is important to consider how many of them to select and which ones.
The term POD”, or Point Of Difference, is another one bandied about often in fantasy football, and is essentially the opposite of a cookie-cutter. These players are the ones that will hopefully score at a similar level to their cookie-cutter counterparts, but that will for whatever reason not be selected by as many coaches and can therefore offer a significant advantage.
<p style='font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: 17.990449905395508px;]The right mix of cookie-cutters and POD's is essential for success in all form of fantasy football, POD's are great but only if they score higher than their opposing players, but more often than not the cookie-cutter players are cookie-cutters because they are amongst the best in their position. Cliché's become cliché's for a reason.
<p style='font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: 17.990449905395508px;]Here we'll take a look at what the cookie-cutter line-up will most likely be for 2013, and which players you should and probably shouldn't consider including in yours. We'll break it down position by position, starting with the back-line.
