TooSerious
For those who take it way too seriously
And so we move onto part two of this ongoing series of previews designed to be the teasing stallion to your upcoming fantasy ORFFL horse. While I have - some - of you here though, now''s as a good a time as any to bring an important issue to attention; the 2013 fixture. It''ll run much like last year''s with rivalry rounds situated in rounds 1, 10 and 14. But instead of just a repeat of last year''s, we''re throwing it open to you all to nominate who you think were/are your biggest rivals going into season 2013.
And please don''t all pick Sarah Island just because you''d like to cave in my smug, Jar holding, meaty-loafy face. Comments below plz.

COULTA COULDABEENS
Made the finals in their debut year and won as many games as they lost. No mean feat with two forfeits in those 18 games. All things being equal I''d consider that a relative success.
Since then there''s been the expected retirement of Scarlett, the unexpected death of John McCarthy and the somewhat expected unretirement of Chins Brogan.
What''s Working:
Coulta''s defence is still a powerful, powerful unit. Arguably equal to that of Torrumbarry and Queenstown in top-end talent, but having an edge over those two clubs in unparalleled squad depth.
Scotland (100),Enright (94),Reilly (92) and Burgoyne (82) may be decidedly veteran, but with AJ (65), Laidler (68), Hombsch (68), and A.Kennedy (53)as understudies, a smoother list transition in the back half you''ll be unable to find.
And despite Zaharakis'' (88) promotion to the midfield, the forward line combination of A.Walker (79),Wright (89),Schulz (81), and QStick (68) is not the worst going around in the ORFFL. It certainly helps that they have one Jeremias Cameron (66) waiting in the wings; a genuine superstar in the...

A lot of changes have gone on this offseason. In fact, we are now running on a completely different platform, on a completely new re-coding. What this means for you? Well, first of all, since it's enable me to start from scratch and actually code this thing properly, it means I should be able to add new stuff much easier than ever before. It also means that moving forward we should be able to get rid of all those nasty little bugs that have been around for ever (B. Ebert anyone?) Then of course, the site should run faster than ever before! Which makes me smile. What do you need to do? Well, there's only one change on your end. Because I can't actually transfer your password from the old site, to this new site- I've had to reset your password to the email address you have registered at TS . Of course, I'm sure a few of you have forgotten your email and what not, so feel free to email me and we can straighten that out. I tried to convert all your friends and messages across, but I've noticed that some of the longer message-chains across multiple people have been butchered a little- but hey, we got most of it.
So, what's next? Well, I'm sure your first question will be: Walesy, how do you find the time to stay so good looking, while being so awesome? Well that question can wait while we move onto the second one: Hey Goober, where are the stats? Fear not, the stats, and all the other goodies that you know and love from TS are in the pipeline to be converted into the new system. Just prettier and more functional than ever before! So check out the site, let me know of any issues that you get hit with (particularly include what browser you're using!) Oh, and check it out on the iPhone/iPad. Heck, use your browser and make it iPhone sized- one of the key re-design aspects that I was going for here was to get the exact same site to scale extremely well across all devices - so let me know any issues you have!...

Another week of NBA has come and gone. There are now only 7 rounds left before the finals commence and owners of fantasy teams are setting themselves up for the finals or to avoid relegation.
As usual I will do the review of the Premier League, Stowie will do the review of the Division One and Rev will the review of Division Two.
Premier League
Ruddy’s Cavaliers (5-4) 1248 v Linsanity 17 (0-9) 1191
Ruddy was able to bounce back this week by posting a hard fought win over Linsanity. Ruddy had a very sizeable lead heading into the last day and despite being outscored by 180 pts was able to hang on. The leading scorers for Ruddy were Lopez (209/4), Durant (189/3) and Teague (153/3). Linsanity are still searching for answers to no avail.
Anthak (5-4) 1292 v Run TMC (5-3-1) 1180
Anthak was able to get back in the winner’s list with a close win over Run TMC. Both sides were victims of the schedule this week where they played 36 and 35 games respectively which could explain the low scores for 2 of the best teams in the league. The best players for Anthak were Lebron (303/4), Kobe (177/3) and Iggy (157/4). For Run TMC, Westbrook (158/3) led the way followed by Dudley (136/3) and Kidd (129/3)
Jasmine’s Mob (7-2) 1524 v Adelaide Maggotz (3-5-1) 1274)
Jasmine’s team continues to go nuts and posted a big win over the Maggotz this round. Unlike last round, Jasmine only had 8 players break the 100 pt mark this round. The Maggotz are in a bit of trough at the moment and need to post some wins on the board to avoid being in a relegation battle. Best players for Jasmine this round were CPE (206/4), Parsons (176/4) and Vasquez (159/3). The leading scorers for the Maggotz were Harden (218/4), Faried (147/4) and Jennings (139/3).
Westside Hardcore (5-4) 1244 v King of Karlos (5-4) 1157
Mick played 3 more games this round of Karlos which helped him post a narrow victory. Both teams now have a record of 5-4 and will be...

In this article I'm going to look at the best draft picks in the 2012 ORFFL draft. There is no perfect formula for this (unless Lucas/Walesy say there is). I evaluated the player’s average, draft pick, position and age, as well as a little personal opinion thrown in. Feel free to post your own opinions in the comments, if there’s one thing we love here its discussion.
[span style='text-decoration: underline]Top 10 Draft Picks (The information in brackets is POS, AGE, PICK, AVE)
1. Shane Tuck (MID, 30, 285, 114.6)
It’s easy to forget Tuck only played 10 games in 2011 at an average of 82.2. At 30 years of age going into the 2012 season, everyone was ready to right him off as a has-been. Everyone, except SCSS (and I suppose Hardwick) . With a bargain pick of 285, Tuck played every game this year and elevated his average to a massive 114.6, the 12th best in the whole competition. His age is certainly a concern, but it’s hard to argue with those numbers.
Fun fact: Shane Tuck wears ear plugs due to a perforated eardrum.
2. Patrick Dangerfield (F/M, 22, 96, 118.9)
Well, we all knew it was coming didn’t we. Breakout year? You could say that. With Craig David departing as coach of the Crows, blind Freddy could tell you any new coach would need to play Dangerfield in the guts. And the rest is history. After playing mostly forward in 2011 for an average of 80.3, Dangerfield became a contested ball fiend in 2012 using the SC scoring system to his advantage for an average of 118.9. Did I mention this year he was classified as a forward? Amazing! At only 22 years of age, he will have another 10 years in the middle before probably ending his career back in the forward line.
Fun fact: Dangerfield is back to back winner of the GF sprint – 2011 & 2012.
3. Josh P. Kennedy (MID, 24, 81, 120,2)
Affectionately known as JPK, he capped off his year by beating his former team Hawthorn in the GF leaving them wondering what could...

The penultimate round of the Big Bash starts soon so hopefully you've already had your trades set up and ready.
Good luck to all those still with a chance to place well, that group certainly doesn't contain me!
A few suggestions this week are that any Sydney players are 'selected at own risk'.
You need both of Laughlin and Malinga in your team to do well.
Be careful of Hopes repeating his performance from the other night.
Paine is in a swirl of form at the moment and with Hobart having another 2 home games left then look to bring him into your team if you can afford it and don't have any other pending trades.
In form batters include Finch, Hodge, Ponting, Klinger whilst Gulbis and Gayle are doing alright with the ball to earn points.
Anyway, probably best to listen to the advice of the others below in the comments, they're doing better than me.
Good luck all!

Sorry all for the general slackness the last coupla weeks, just really been struggling timewise, especially with the quick turnaround in games. So I'm not putting up a review but  here's a chance to leave your thoughts on all things FPL and VS.
It's also WC time in FPL so let us know what your plans are for that or have you already used it, if so what have you done?
RVP was too expensive for many at 13mil, now priced at 14mil can you afford not to have him? Walcott has gone up 0.4mil since boxing day- who jumped on? With the last few games about to kick off it could be a painful morning for some with Ba out as he talks to Chelsea with Mata, Hazard and Cole all rested to the bench. Anyway leave your comments over the break and apologies again for the slackness...

Well the end of our 2012 NFL fantasy season has come to an end with championship games across all leagues decided last week. Thanks to everyone for making the leagues as competitive as they were and for the spirit in which it was played. Please join Stowie and myself as we review the championship games in the Keeper League and League 1. If anyone from league 2 wants to provide a rundown on the result in that league then please do.
THE KEEPER LEAGUE (review by bgt2110)
Waito’s Warriors (302) defeated Welcome Back Mr Wallace (214)
A dominant display over two weeks saw Waito win the inaugural keeper league championship in a well deserved win. To score 136 points in week 1 and then back it up a week later to score another 166 highlights the strength of Waito’s team with high scoring players across all lines. Calvin Johnson’s 20 points in week one also saw him seal the record for most receiving yards in a single season while Alfred Morris scored 16 in week 1 and another 39 in week 2 to cement his place as probably the best RB to come out of the 2012 draft. He also set the record for most yards by a Washington RB in a single game with his efforts in week 2. With Demaryius Thomas dominating all season, he followed it up in our fantasy playoffs by scoring 16 points in week 1 and another 18 in week 2. Michael Crabtree sealed the deal for the Warriors by getting his highest score for the year with a 29 in week 2, an inspired pick in the flex position to replace Steven Jackson who was up against a strong Seahawks d/st.
Mr Wallace has certainly found a keeper QB in Russell Wilson who was the highest scorer across both weeks combining for 47 points while CJ Spiller backed up his 16 points in week 1 with another 16 in week 2. Jimmy Graham was quiet in week 1 but backed up in week 2 for 17 points while Reggie Wayne couldn’t match his 14 points in week 1, only managing the 4 in week 2. The inconsistency in scoring going a long way in explaining the end...

So I'm hungover as all hell, but rather than write a depressingly decrepit pop song about this fact, I've decided to do some thing that's at least semi-useful; some ORFFL club previews for the upcoming 2013 season.!Well, actually I wrote them earlier, but making the copy pasta and pressing the submit button is hard work too.
So please enjoy my musings ORFFL citizens on why your fantasy club is worse than mine and will remain so.

BONNIE DOON BANDITS
For much of season 2012 I had considered Jimcumbilly to be the unluckiest team in the ORFFL. In the post-season though, that mantle clearly belongs to one team; Bonnie Doon.
With ORFFL teams forced to delist 6 players before the 2013 draft, fate made this task a great deal easier for the coach of the Bandits; Gram, Hargrave, Gilbee, Drummond and Folau all retiring of their own accord. The problem being is that many of those players were Bonnie Doon's better scorers, particularly down back.
Enter the pre-season trade period, and the giant sized move of trading out Sam Mitchell (110.42) for young defenders Hibberd (73.85) and Trengove (68.5), along with P8 in the upcoming draft.
The rebuild is well and truly underway.
What's Working:
Bonnie Doon's defence which was a gaping wound in season 2012 looks pretty patched up going into 2013. Along with the 2 new intakes, we find fantasy journeyman Jarred Brennan (78.12), rising force from the north Mitch Golby (76) and the much maligned Ryan Clangermakers (68.27).
Okay so that doesn't look great, but if Reid (69.3/79.3) and Gwilt (63.5/83.2) can recover from their injury plagued seasons, the future looks pretty bright. And deep.
Cox (112.27) and Griffin (91.85) remain a premier ruck combo if Sandi can find himself injured for a sizeable length of time. A definite possibility....
So please enjoy my musings ORFFL citizens on why your fantasy club is worse than mine and will remain so.

I have been very slack in getting the write up done this week.  I have been watching too many NBA games over the last week before I go back to work.  I need something to keep my interest in the NBA as my fantasy team sucks!!
As per usual, I will do the review of the Premier League, Stowie will do the review for Division One and Rev will do the review for Division Two (EDIT – I will include the review for Divsion Two once I receive it from Rev)
Premier League
Run TMC (5-2-1)  1432   v  Linsanity 17  (0-8)    1188
The season of hell for Linsanity continues with Run TMC posting a comfortable victory.   Linsanity used all of their 5 acquisitions in this matchup to no avail.   The best players for Run TMC this week were Dudley (174/4), Westbrook (193/3) and George (173/4).  Once again I am not even going to bother with mentioning the scores for Linsanity as it is embarrassing.
Fudge’s Sixers (2-6)   1365   v   Team Anthak   (4-4)   1340
Fudge was able to make it back to back wins and will be feeling even better now that Dirk is back on the court.  Fudge was able to build a sizeable lead with 2 days to go and it did not matter that Anthak outscored him over the final 2 days as he had enough points in the bank.   Timmy D has proven to be an inspired pick for Fudge and once again he led the way with (217/4), followed by Pierce (206/3) and Jordan Crawford (194/4).  For Anthak the leading scorers were Lebron (183/3), followed by Z Bo (157/4) and Chandler (140/4).
Jasmine’s Mob (6-2)   1860   v   Ruddy’s Cavaliers   (4-4)   1458
What can you say about Jasmine’s team?   They continue their high scoring and had no problems in beating the Cavaliers this round.   Jasmine had 11 players break the 100 pt mark...

How time flies, Christmas has been and gone and so has rounds three and four. Currently in the middle of the 5th Round.
Melbourne teams are gong alright and the Sydney teams...not so good. In the Official Fantasy game we have Yamum right up there too. So how's everyone else doing?
I'm sinking down the rankings quicker than the Titanic. Brought in Lumb and Tait this week so hoping things improve a little bit but I'm too far gone playing catch up!.
Feel free to have a chat with us regulars below in the comments.
