This is going to be a lightning edition given the fact that I am very pressed for time at the moment. To recap on Round 10, all I have to say is sorry to Ablett. Sorry for doubting the perma-captain. With many jumping off the perma-captain last week, he responded with a huge 155 from 53 disposals. Over the break are the numbers for Round 11 ...

Hi all.
Best buys comes to you this week from about halfway along the central midlands of Tasmania, and as you probably noticed there was a bit of a delay in getting it up this week. This was mainly due to me going away for a couple of nights and forgetting my modem, so I’ve had to drive 200k to come home and press the “publish” button. So my apologies for the tardiness, and for the rushed Best Buys.
This week sees the start of the bye rounds, and will require some sound planning and plenty of luck to emerge from unscathed. At the moment all I can really say on this is good luck to all and personally Ill be copping a few donuts for the sake of saving some trades over these byes, and I reckon I wont be alone. Everyone else should please ignore my poor example and feel free to discuss bye-round trades and strategies in depth in the comments.
After a massive weekend of footy last round there are some interesting options emerging, and a lot of surprise results. The forwards went big, and some of our mainstays didn’t.
My tip for the week this week, is one Travis Cloke. He’s a big risk looking at his numbers so far this season, but if you’ve seen his current price also then I’m sure you’ll be aware of the massive reward there also. Collingwood will need to finish the season strongly this year, as they have not shown the same dominance of years previous, and Cloke looks to be the man to lead them to it. As Sidey and Beams pick up more taggers hopefully it allows Cloke off the leash a little more later in the season, and results in some nice points for his coaches.
Again my apologies for the briefness of this weeks article, and I hope it can still be of good use to many. I’ll see you over the break.

As I was reminded of the bye round teams this week are ADE, BRI, GWS, NM, WCE and WB, so do NOT trade players from these teams into your team unless you have coverage. Great options for next week though.

Powletts Plains 1369 def Marble Bar 886
Every so often Buddy just has one of those weeks that makes every player on the ground irrelevant. Doughnuts galore for Marble Bar as they are on the wrong end of one of those Buddy special games. Cameron Wood comes on as a sub for Jolly and cranks out 157 in a fantastic coaching move by saurian carnivore coach.
Darraweit Guim 1160 def Far Kew 1015
The Guim do enough in a low scoring affair on a rain affected ground. Swan still out and Thompson way under par not helping the Frogs cause, along the with the lack of a good pavement style cafe in Darraweit.
Whitsundays 1112 lost to Venus Bay 1148
A close encounter, with Joba and Josh Drummond getting the Vultures home . A Motlop doughnut and lack of bench cover probably cost the Warriors four points here.
Birdsville 1039 lost to Foul Bay 1357
A big 6 from Cripps did nothing to help the Battlers cause as the Chooks notch up another win and take over top position in the process. Who would have thought Danyle Pierce would have suddenly turned into a premium? Certainly not me.
Gariwerd 1196 lost to Gundagai 1214
Another close one here, with tons from Wright and Fasolo sealing the deal for the Hoppers away at the Grampians. Snoz a bit of a quiet achiever recently as the Hoppers sneak into 6th. The Cockies must surely be the unluckiest club so far, having nothing go their way in the close ones.
Namitjara 1251 lost to Cradle Mountain 1367
CM must be just about the in form side of the comp after the last two weeks, Daisy, Stevie J and Hey Jude all going 150+ this week. Nungas can take heart from a much improved performance this week and surely must crack through for their...

Trade Season! It is on. Now is the time to wheel, deal and screw over your ORFFL counterparts, all the while telling them that the pitter-patter they feel on their back is just the rain of a Melbourne winter. Over the break, I'll supply the important dates and a refresh of the rules, given some people's natural disinclination to actually go and look them up. You know who you are.

DATES OF IMPORTANCE

The ORFFL Midseason Trade period begins now until the conclusion of the last match in R12.

All ORFFL delistments must be made prior to 9pm AEST Monday 18th June. To delist a player(s), all you need to do is PM prior to this date and time with a list and I'll take care of the rest (I'll be PMing walesy my own list).

The ORFFL Midseason draft will begin at 9pm AEST Tuesday 19th June. There'll be a post on the main page. Hopefully we can get everyone on board on that night, but if not it will be the standard 24-hour time limit to take your pick. Let me know if you can't make it on here that night, there is wiggle room at this stage.

TRADE RULES

You can trade picks (to the mid-season draft and the pre-2013 draft) and players. Trades can be uneven (eg. 2 players for 1)

You MUST have 26 players on your list going into R14. Meaning if after the end of the trade and delistment period, you have 22 players, YOU HAVE TO DRAFT 4 PLAYERS.

Trading works on the 50% Veto system. If 50% of the non-involved teams veto said trade, trade does not go through. Teams will have roughly 48 hours to veto a trade proposed (eg. If a trade is proposed at 2.15pm on a Tuesday, ORFFL coaches have until 10pm on a thursday to cast their votes. I'll be checking/ratifying at 10pm, basically).

If you put in a trade on Sunday 17th June, ORFFL coaches have until 7pm AEST on Monday 18th June to veto it.

Wow, Draft Rivalry Round I lived up to its all-star billing, providing thrills and chills for all! There were the momentous highs of massive scores, and devastating lows of late outs - which are becoming more nefarious than either of the complementary coloured vests (but it's okay because I've put a bounty out on McKenna's testicles). Tomorrow the ORFFL midseason trade period opens, for now head over the break for the Round X reviews.

TARWIN LOWER PIGS1010 DefBONNIE DOON BANDITS
It was a walkover at Tarwin Lower this weekend, this rivalry proving to be one-sided. Which is just as well for the Pigs, who didn't exactly hit the heights they are capable of. Playing a man down in defence, not a single Pig tonnedup, I imagine taking it easy in a exhibition match. That being the case, I'm not deigning to single out any players. Except one. Where'sWallis (84) proving to be a real find for the TLP in this middle third of the season. Averaging 88 for the Pigs, and 102 over the past month. Respect for the 2nd year player.

In this tussle between ORFFL heavyweights it was the plucky team from Merton that got up by 52 points over the men from Poowong. It was a somewhat low scoring affair for both sides, for Merton only three players hit triple figures; Cotchin (106) in the middle, Big Ivan (111) in the ruck and live-wire Zorko (102) up forward. Yet they did enough to defeat 2nd and consolidated their position in the Top8.
On the other side of the equation, Poowong had a rare loss. Forced to play Mattner (28) OOP in a FWD line decimated by injury, the Thompson Twins (34, 58) also had equally rare poor games by the lofty standards they have set...

A pretty good week for the Donors again this week, scoring 2257 points, and being ranked 56,445 for the round. This was 40k places below our last round ranking, and did drop us back 781 places in the overall standings, to now be ranked 10,093 for the season.
We were three from five this week on the leagues, going down in Ucantbetooserious, to now be ranked 12th, also going down in TS Igotatheory, to be ranked fourth. We won our games in Ucantbe TS, TS Pine Warmers, and the TS WA League, to be ranked 2nd, 4th, and 8th respectively.

With 22 scoring players on the field, and three donuts on the pine, I’m quite confident in saying that this is going to be our best round score for a few weeks!(But we may be lucky and climb a few places on the overall leaderboard if things go our way).
So, In defence we were lead by Deledio’s 114, followed in by Goddard’s 106, and Broughton’s 100. The rest of our players couldn’t crack the ton, with Clarke on 85, Bugg on 75, Lake on a horrible 49, and Darley stepping in with an emergency 64 for the Shaw donut. We were rounded out down back with Morris’s 60 points on the pine. Swapping Lake for Morris would have netted us an extra 11 points here,...

What a week of individual brilliance. 13 from Buddy, 53 from Ablett - and still the best 2 players in the game. But who else starred?
My top 5 performances for the week, in order of marvel, and with it a guaranteed/likely 3 votes are as follows:
1. Buddy Franklin
2. Jack Riewoldt
3. Gary Ablett Jnr
4. Jude Bolton
5. Rory Sloane
Who am I kidding 4 of those 5 are absolute guarantees. Whilst Ablett did poll 3s in 57 & 50 point hidings last year, a 97 point defeat is another level. All votes & leaderboards over the page...

So, after Richmonds massive win on Friday, I thought surely that would be the highlight of the round, but boy was I wrong!
Buddys 13 goals and 3 huge upsets later, and it easily the most entertaining round of the year.
Due to the weekend, the review might be a little late- but until then, let us know how youve gone, and what your highlight for the round was.

I said, it was late- but if youre here still reading, Ill get each game up as I go... Its slow going tonight though as Im a little distracted!

St. Kilda vs Richmond
Result: Richmond by 8, 18.13.121 to 16.17.133
Well, this weekend kicked off with an absolute humdinger!! Both teams were hard at the footy, with neither giving an inch.
Dont you just love it when a highly billed game, goes right down to the end!
But it was Richmond that run out victors and Riewoldt who led the way! Kicked 8.3 with 20 disposals and made himself a tidy 187SC. Looks like hes playing himself right into form!
Deledio did nicely, 29 disposals and 114SC, while Maric (111SC) and Cotchin (106) were the other tigers who broke the ton.
St. Kilda only had two people break the ton, Gram with his final quarter heroics scored a 119SC, while Goddard managed a 106SC.
I reckon this spread of points just goes to show how much of a team game both teams put out there this week. Well, once you take out JRoos piece of the pie!!
Heroes: Riewoldt, Saad, Milera
Villians: Dal Santo, Steven
Geelong vs GWS
Result: Geelong by 65, 19.12.126 to 9.7.61
What the hell happened at half time? Seriously, scores were level at quarter time and half time- at which time, I started making jokes about how an upset could be on the cards (little did I know of what was to come in other games this weekend!). But after half time, it was simply all Geelong. Kicked 12.9 in the second half, more than GWS did in the...
