For those who take it way too seriously
Its been a while since Ive gotten one of these up, but with SC/DT opening in just 48 hours, I reckon its long due that I get back into it!
So sit back, and check out whats been going on with Richmond, St. Kilda, Sydney, Western Bulldogs and the West Coast Eagles.

Richmond
11/1
Helbig was missing while Reiwoldt, Browne, Astbury, Moore, Batchelor and Cotchin were on a restricted program.
Martin tweaked his back a little and had to sit out half the session
Newman was training with the midfield froup, while Jackson and Houli with the defenders (as did Arnot and Griffiths).
Arnot and Ellis are both looking very strong (Seriously, Arnot looks like a tank).
18/1
MacDonald and Turner were all missing.
Good to see that Martin wasnt effected by last weeks tweak.
Cotchin, Batchelor, Reiwoldt, Mcguane, Morris, Griffiths, Astbury and Browne were in the rehab group.
Newman trained with the midfielders again.
Derickx was very inconsistant. His kicking was top notch, but couldnt take a grab.
Rance stood out, excellent disposal and a lot of voice.
Ellis was vary good in the drills.
The midfield group consisted of Dustin Martin, Daniel Connors, Matthew Arnot, Shane Edwards, Nathan Foley, Shuan Grigg, Daniel Jackson, Jeromey Webberley and Shane Tuck.
while Brandon Ellis, Dylan Grimes, Bachar Houli, Alex Rance, Ben Darrou, Piva Wright, Steven Verrier, Matt Dea, Bradley Helbig, Jayden Post and Matthew White were in the backline.
23/1
MacDonald was still missing.
Post was playing in Defence, while Derickx hands were a lot better than last week.
During the match simulation, Nahas did a bit of work in the midfield, while Tuck was seen up on the HFF.
Derickx copped a pretty hard wack, essentially rubbing him out for half the session.
Just quickly, it was revealed that the Tigers will not play Jack Riewoldt until week three of the pre-season competition.

Given that we're closing in on the end of the ORFFL Draft, and selections have slowed due to Flag Day, I thought now would be an opportune time for some further analysis. Thokash has got something he's preparing comparing our draft to those held at FF, I on the other hand am going to delve into comparison between the teams in the ORFFL. Principally, how their players did last year and a tiny glimpse into the crystal ball of 2012 and beyond.
Join us over the break.

N.B Starting 15's are picked on highest 2011 averages.
Humpty Doo Hammerheads (Lucas)
Fresh from coaching Germans in Northern Africa, Lucas landed the top job at Humpty Doo with much fanfare, and assembled a talented and impressive team. 2nd in overall 2011 ave., and above average in all lines except the ruck (3 points off). Where he would hope to get the damage done is in the midfield(409 ppg, 3rd best in the ORFFL, and 30 ppg above the league ave.). The names Judd, Wells, Ball and Bolton ring out, but at the average age of 29, the Hammerheads need to strike with hot irons really quickly. And repeatedly.
Overall 2011 team Ave. 1324 (2nd)
Overall Ave. Starting 15 Age: 27
Mallacoota Magicians (Thokash)
This is a very balanced side from the former Mr. SuperCoach top 20. Only the midfield is just below the league average (1 point off),but at the average age of 24, they should be able to close the gap. The remarkable thing about the Magicians is that they're very close to the 1300 mark (1296), which I think will be the marker for true challengers for the ORFFL crown, and yet their ave. age is only 23. Young, talented and one to definitely watch for the future.
Overall 2011 team Ave. 1296 (6th)
Overall Ave. Starting 15 Age: 23

I was asked to do this writeup way back on August 30th, and I have always had it in the back of my mind that I would have to get it done by the end of January at the latest - As the new season of Supercoach will open on Feb 1st and we will lose all the data from the 2011 season. So here it is... I have left it until pretty late, but better late than never they say, yeah? The first idea was to do it during the final week of Supercoach, but I did not feel comfortable with that as we were celebrating the seasons of Impromptu, Yamum and Shagga at that time, so I thought it a bit inappropriate to join in on that... but Walesy, myself and others involved do believe that this was a really interesting exercise and definitely worthy of its own writeup.
Leading up to last footy season, it was proposed by eckie that we set up a TS Supercoach league where everyone starts with the same side, so that we can level the playing field and see who reigns supreme by doing best trades etc. We got 16 interested people very quickly and we set about organising the rules and starting team.
The basic/main rule was that we all had to have the same 33 players for round 1. Three league members gave proposals of a starting team and we had a vote for which one we went with, with the winner being the following team that was proposed by LiQuiD_SiXx:

Quote from LiQuiD_SiXx on March 16, 2011, 21:00

Backs: Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, H.Shaw, Grimes, Otten, Heppell (Duigan, Toy, Lower)

Mids: Swan, Judd, Montagna, D.Swallow, Conca, Harris (Hibberd, Pittard, Bewick)

Rucks: Sandilands, Cox (Z.Smith, Keeffe)

Fwds: N.Riewoldt, Franklin, Rioli, Goodes, Sylvia, A.Krakouer, Prestia (Matera, Richardson, Darling)

$5400 in the bank

Thanks to Stowie for the reminder, in last weeks thread, that there is an NBL game tonight. The 36ers are travelling to Townsville for this midweek game against the Crocs, and it kicks of a run of 4 games in 11 days for Townsville, which is nowhere near as hectic as what we are seeing in the NBA at the moment, but its pretty full on for the NBL - especially considering theres a trip over to Perth in amongst it for them. But it is a good prompter to get a couple of Crocs into your Dreamteams with your two trades this week. I have made my two trades this week and now have both the Ceder boys, as well as big Elvin Mims as my Round 17 captain.
Looking at our TS league, our best performer is still Parasite, who is sitting within the top 30 still. Underachievers is now our only other league member in the top 100, and our league ranking has dropped right back to 16th of 464, but we are carrying a couple of teams that dont seem to be setting their rosters week to week.
Join me over the break for our recent results, the current H2H ladder and the Round 17 schedule,

Matchup 4 finished Monday as usual, and matchup 5 is already under way. After 4 games, we still have 5 teams that are undefeated and 5 teams still waiting for their first success. Out of all 36 teams, Heaver has scored the most points so far averaging 1664 per week, followed closely by fez and minis - in that order. Rodgo took over Sainters team at the end of last week and has made a few changes to the team and he should start to see the rewards soon. He was up against Steve this week and I need to fill you all in on a little back story that will help you when reading Steves Div2 review later. After I sent an email to the emergencies to see if they were hypothetically interested in taking over Sainters team, I sent the email to the Div2 LMs to show what was in it, but I added a line that I had not actually sent to the emergencies that read: "And you will have the easiest game of the season in matchup 4 if you decide to take over this team." But Steve had the last laugh with a W against the newly named Nahla Vs LittleDee.
Also want to point out that voting for the NBA All Star game closes in about a week, and you can place votes once a day. I reckon we should all be on there voting for Bogut each day... and maybe even Kyrie Irving?? What are your thoughts? If you want to place your vote, head over here and follow the steps.
Only 1 team broke the 1700 barrier this week and that was smokinjoemisiti with his team - SmokinJoe Misiti in Div2 - scoring a massive 1778, which was close to 100 points better than the next best, and almost 150...

N.B IT'S YOUR PICK IN THE FINAL ROUND FEZ
One interesting this I like to do at this time of the season, is to look back at last year and get a quick refresher on exactly who dominated on the road home - Was there a role change? An injury which helped them out, or perhaps they managed to improve their game naturally?
Regardless, over the break, Ive taken a closer look at the top 20 players who improved their averages in the second half of last season over the first (Only taking into account guys who played 5 games min in both halves of the season)

OK, I stuffed up last week and never got around to writing the post... and if i dont do a quick one tonight, I may end up in the same situation this week as Ive got a busy week this week again. So Im not gonna write much this week, but I will give updates of our fantasy league over the break.
One thing I want to mention though, is the situation at the Tigers regarding the sacking of Ubaka. Did everyone hear about that? Full on! I read an article in the local paper over here in Perth about it, but if you want to read more about it, head over to Andthefoul.net where they have covered it and also the aftereffects here and here. Basically, the Tigers owner stormed into the dressing room after their last game and fired Ubaka on the spot while Gleeson was at a press conference and had no idea about.
And just before we head over the break, I also want to remind everyone that the lockout for NBL Dreamteam is tomorrow (Thursday) at 5:30 AEDT

Theres 5 reports today, cause well, 2 of them are a bit of a no show!
I would love to hear the things that you guys are hearing- so drop in and leave us a comment!

GWS
First things first, with no dedicated training facility, it looks like the young giants are doing a lot of travel. Surely this couldnt be great for them right?
Actually no, thats the only thing! Guess we need more GWS supporters!!
Hawthorn
13/1
Roughy ran laps and participated in the kicking and handballing drills. Didnt look too troubled.
Xavier Ellis was on the bike only.
Sam Grimley was apparently very good, taking the days honours over Pattinson. Could be another rookie ruck prospect. (Though there was also talk about a possible ankle, which would make him more of a downgrade target through the year!)
Frank Amos is also one to watch, competed well in all the drills and is in line for some early gametime.
Lot of praise for Hill. Veryfast is the one word used to describe him.
Sucklings kicking is emaculate.
Stratton, Young and Gilham are all on track for an NAB start.
Intraclub on the 7-9th.
Melbourne
11/1
Macdonald, Tapscott and Trengove were only running laps, Jurrah was absent.
Bate once again, was in the midfield group.
Trengove ran the 3k in 9.33 (compared to the GWSs Tom Scully who did it in 9.37).
Intraclub was apparently on the 17th, but I havent heard much about it- you guys hear anything?.
North Melbourne
9/1
Daw, Wright and Lynch were all on the sidelines.
Cunnington was very good in the contested work.
McIntosh is looking fit, will be interesting to see how the ruck situation plays out at North.
Leigh Adams spent a lot of the match practice drills in defence.
16/1
Daw, Richardson, Lynch and Kennedy were in the rehab group.

Harper...
