For those who take it way too seriously
Alright, looks like the site is now on the new servers, now to get the rest of the site back up and running!
In the interim though, looks like the Prospectus has given us a quick <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcrcNWC7d5s">sneak peek of 2012s edition. (or yanno, just check over the break!)
Its nice cause we can see a few of the little gems that make this book awesome. Some of the things I noticed:
<!--more-->
<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="257" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/rcrcNWC7d5s" width="400"></iframe>
Jonathan Giles averaged 115SC last year.
Looks like Zaharakis and Fyfe have kept their F/M DPP - while Mitch Robinson might have picked it up!
F/D looks just as bad as always, which is a shame as Tomlinson could be a good link man.
Theres also a nasty paragraph that reads as follows:
<blockquote>
Last year it was Luke Hodge that lost his dual Position status, this year its Bryce Gibbs. He can only be selected...
</blockquote>
anyways, check it out.

Hey everyone, Ill be taking a cut of the database tonight to move across to the new server.
Once I do that, any comments made here wont be seen on the new site- so if you write something super important (NBA Guys, Im looking at you! Dont forget to remember to move it over to the new site.
Nothing to get excited by yet though, there wont be anything new just yet, just a new server.

Man United v Wolves
Hernandez out is bad news for United. The good news is it should guarantee Rooney playing further upfield. Hell most likely be partnered by Wellbeck if SAF thinks hes had enough game time. Otherwise expect Nani or Young to sit in behind Rooney, in which case Park or possibly Valencia will come in.
Four clean sheets from five have had many jumping on the bandwagon of Uniteds defenders but the news that United have lost Vidic to injury is a huge blow.
...unless youre Steven Fletcher, whos in form and will fancy his chances of adding to his 11 goals in 2011 despite earlier injuries.<!--more-->
Arsenal v Everton
More injuries at the back with Santos out but it shouldnt matter IF Everton remain as toothless as they did last week against Stoke. Theres been shades of the Vermaelen of old with two goals in two games. RVP keeps purring along nicely while Walcott as well as Gervinho and Arteta, who both scored last week, will be hoping to get in on the action. Ramsay remains on attacking threat despite being unable to transfer it into goals.
Saha is injured while Drenthe is doubtful for the toffees which drastically cuts their attacking threat. Set-pieces will remain their best chance of picking up some points.
Stoke v Spurs
You always know what youre going to get with Stoke, there is no such thing as an easy game at the Brittania and theyll be buoyed by their progress in Europe as well as an excellent result at Goodison after a poor run.
Sorensen will miss out with Begovic coming back in. Crouch might feel that hes got a point to prove after being shown the door by Harry in the summer.
VDV was on the bench last week after limited training in the lead-up to the game. Interestingly, he came on for Lennon rather than Defoe at the 70th minute mark. Hell be expecting to come back in while Defoe - after scoring his sixth goal of the season - will be hoping to keep his place. Its hard to imagine that a fit VDV (and he says he...

Alright, thanks to the silly season (and delicious delicious work Christmas dos), the training notes this week arent overly detailed. That said though, I reckon its more than just me moving into December Mode.
Just a quick note though before moving into it- Ill be moving the site to a new server this weekend, so there will be a point where comments made will be left behind as once I take a cut of the database, that becomes what we take across. But Im thinking that sounds a good task for Saturday/Saturday night (Oh wow, thats a sad Saturday night!)
Onto the reports:

Adelaide

Young, Henderson, Riley, McKernan and Ellis-Yolmen were all in the rehab group.
The session started with running drills, it was noted though that Johncock, usually out of shape at this point in the season, well, wasnt.
Brisbane
5/12
Word was of a marathon training session that "had a few suffering big time."
Havent heard too much else this week though, its all about the ripping shape of Brown- who will be looked at it Mondays PuffWatch.
Carlton

Of course the big news here was Juddy- so it was good to hear that he was still running laps.
Meanwhile, Kreuzer. Jamison, Murphy, Henderson, White, Yarran, Simpson, Garlett, Waite, Curnow, Buckley and Heyne were all on light duties.
Good to hear that Robinson and Walker are both getting nods for showing excellent form thusfar.
Sounds like Bower is going to tempt us all next year- priced at $125k, hes showing that if fit, hell be a bargain.
7/12
Heh, gotta laugh at the Huns article on JUdd, <a href="http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/carlton-captain-chris-judd-hurt-his-shoulder-in-bed/story-e6frf9jf-1226214623162">injuring his shoulder in bed - really thats probably a bad sign durability-wise.
Collingwood

Its all Arizona at the moment, and as always, sounds like they are doing it tough.

There are a big couple of days coming up this week regarding the new NBA season. It is still not official that the new season will go ahead; however it should be by the end of this week, as the players who are members of the Union will be voting on Thursday US time. Then on Friday team training camps will open and FAs will be able to be signed. Probably what I am most excited about though, is before then - the revised schedule will be announced on Tuesday US time so we will most likely know it by the time most people read this and I should be able to work out our Fantasy schedule over the coming days.
Our leagues are pretty much set:
Too Serious NBA PREMIER LEAGUE:
Owen, HEAVER, karlos & Lethal, Mick, Jasmine, fudge, anthak, dabombers, chris88 & smittys07, walesy, maggots, Ruddy.
Div 1:
stowie, Fez, UnderAchievers, Steve, Doobs, Sainter, crossy, bgt2110, LiQuiD_SiXx, costak, Rev, spm67.
Div 2:
blankmc, joellamerton, twoeyec, Don_Cottagers, maxweas, smokinjoemisiti, nicksnow, minis, Jet, Cobra_Magic, travyboy11, hawker.
Although we need to work out what to do about blankmc... he has joined the league, alhough he is the only person who hasnt reconfirmed since the recent good lockout news, and we have an emergency - <a href="http://tooserious.net/nba/comment-page-3#comment-111508" target="_blank">brettmarinovich - waiting in the wings. We havent heard from blankmc since <a href="http://tooserious.net/possibly-wishful-thinking-fantasy-nba/comment-page-1#comment-110550" target="_blank">October 2nd despite numerous emails and messages sent to them...  I am inclined to think that we should give the spot to Brett, but I want to hear what everyone else thinks first...
Our NBL H2H ladder has become quite congested at the top, with 5 teams all on 6 and 2! We have a new leader with UnderAchievers having the best % of the 5; although Parasite still leads the total points ladder - despite slipping back to...

Ah the offseason, where the truth is flexible and everyone is training the house down. One of the tricks of the offseason is in keeping up with the shear volume of puff pieces that are released by the clubs and filtering out those gem pieces of information.
So what Im looking to do, is to put together a weekly article, containing exactly those- puff pieces, who if true, could potentially shape our season.
Plus yanno, it gives us a good chance to discuss the merits of a handful of players for next year.
Check it out over the break.

De Boer eyes inside mid role

<blockquote>
Matt de Boer is hoping a full pre-season and improved fitness levels can help him become the inside midfielder he wanted to be at the start of last season.
The 21-year-old said an interrupted pre-season leading into 2011 meant he couldn’t get himself to the level he needed to be at to play in the position.
“I was hoping to play an inside midfielder role but my fitness levels weren’t there,†he said.
</blockquote>
<div style="border-bottom:1pt solid silver; padding-bottom:8pt; margin-bottom:8pt;">
My Take: If he can keep his F/M eligibility, and spend more time in the middle of the ground, hes a monty to improve on his average of 68 (which included an injury effected 12). I really rated De Boer as a youngster and was shocked to see him slide to the rookie draft- turns out that his kicking was worse than I gave him credit for. But he was alway a huge accumulator of the ball, and if given the chance to get through the Dockers midfield more, I reckon an 80-90 average isnt out of the question. (which if he hits 90, is a top 15 forward!)

PIGEON-HOLED Port...
Here we are, the final week of the regular season and the playoffs just around the corner. Locking up the top seeds are Maggotz (WALESY Conference) and Stowie (LUCAS Conference). With only two more spots to fill, things get very interesting. <!--more--> Current Standings:
WALESY,,,,Points For
Adelaide Maggotz ,,8 - 4,,1190
Unleashed and Hellbound ,6 - 5 - 1 ,1114
Team Wiggles ,, 6 - 6,,1143
Under Achievers,, 6 - 6,,1091
Ocho Cinco ,, 3 - 8 - 1,1072
LUCAS,,,,Points For
Team Stowie ,, 8 - 4 ,,1312
Vicks Dog Fighters, 6 - 6,,1303
Dizzy Diamonds ,, 6 - 6,,1296
Show Me Ya TDs ,,5 - 6 - 1,1023
TooSerious,, 4 - 7 - 1,938
.
Conferences do not matter for playoff seeding so the 3rd and 4th teams could come from WALESY or LUCAS. Five teams are in the running for the final 2 spots,
here are the all importantant matchups:
Vicks Dog Fighters (6-6) at Show Me Ya TDs (5-6-1)
Dizzy Diamonds (6-6) at Ocho Cinco (3-8-1)
Team Wiggles (6-6) at Under Achievers (6-6)
TooSerious (4-7-1) at Team Stowie (8-4)
Unleashed and Hellbound (6-5-1) at Adelaide Maggotz (8-4)
.
Here are some quick scenarios:
- Unleashed needs to beat Maggotz to keep 3rd spot, otherwise he could drop out of the playoffs.
- Both Vicks and Dizzy could make it if they win and maintain their Points For advantage
- The winner of Wiggles and Under Achievers can still sneak in with a massive score or losses / poor scores by both Dizzy and Vicks
.
A lot will happen over this final week, good luck to all!
If anyone from League 2 or 3 has some spare time, please feel free to write something up and well get it added to the main post.

In what is the first big blow of the Pre-Season, Chris Judd has done his shoulder in training and will be undergoing a shoulder reco in the next few days.
A big blow for the Blues, this will see him getting back to it right at the cusp of round 1, certainly missing the entire pre-season, and possibly the start of the season.
The silver lining of course is the extra points on offer to the Blues other high-end players like Murphy and Gibbs (Provided those two get themselves right as well!!)
<a href="http://www.sportsnewsfirst.com.au/articles/2011/12/01/judd-could-be-out-for-four-months/">link
Update: And so the plot thickens, the official line off the twitter feed goes
@carlton_FC: Judd injury update. Judd set to resume full training in January. He will have minor surgery next week and be fine for start of 2012.

Sorry, we missed last weeks reports, had the draft, then a bit of a family emergency to cover for- then before I knew it, it was a couple of days til the next report.

Adelaide
30/11
Porps is the one were all watching here, and once again he got through the session in good shape (and form).
Johncock and Knights were on on ol modified program, while Otten was working with the midfield group.
Sounds like Adelaide will be playing Mckernan at Full forward, with Tippett and Walker pushing down the ground. Will be interesting to see how Tippett goes as surely hell stop teasing us and deliver soon! That said though, Walker did do a little bit of time training in the mids after Riley left the track injured.
Oh, and Riley left the track injured. Did a shoulder.
One thing that was noticed is that Adelaide look to be positioning themselves to take the game on- win the contested ball and get it forward, rather than putting numbers behind the ball as they did last year.
Brisbane
30/11
Missing from the session (Outside of the 5 in Arizona) were Raines, Drummond and Buchanan - Yep, you boys arent going anywhere near my squad this year! Meanwhile, Staker, Polec and Bartlett were on a restricted program
Still early days, but the Lions definitely sound like they are bulking up a bit, Dayne Zorko, while only 175cm looks good for early game time.
Carlton
23/11
1st training session and it was a pretty meh affair, getting the boys back into it with skill sessions and the like.
Curnow is moving freely and is looking very fit.
Krueze was also running freely- heres hoping for a massive pre-season.
Judd, Simpson, Waite, Garlett, McLean, Kreuzer and White spent most of the session running laps, but Murphy was unsighted.
Gibbs was looking good after getting back from Qatar- though his shoulder was still fairly strapped. Still...

Man United v Newcastle
Rooneys goal drought continues in league matches for United, thats now eight in a row. Hernandez has no such problems as he scored for the second game running. Phil Jones - one of Uniteds best performers this season - was surprisingly omitted from the match-day squad. While Anderson is going to be missing until February due to a knee-injury. Fabio started at right-back while Rio retained his place alongside Vidic. It was Ferdinands challenge that led to Bas equaliser, a shocking decision that was given on the linesmans say so. Young started for Man U but was largely anonymous after his injury lay-off, while Fabio showed his inexperience and there remains question-marks about his credentials.
Gutierez was red-carded and will now sit out a game. Krul made some big saves and Newcastle will be happy with a point. Chelsea up next at the Sport Direct... Direct Sport... Directcom.sport... Direct Arena... sorry I mean St James Park.<!--more-->
Chelsea v Wolves
Lampard, Bosingwa, Torres, Mikel and Malouda all started on the bench for this one. Sturridge is starting to put together a run of decent performers. Mata was the star of the show though with one goal and two assists. The assists were for Sturridge and Terry. Cole assisted Matas goal. A welcome performance and clean sheet for Chelsea. Summer signing from Barca - Romeu - made his first league start for the club.
Norwich v QPR
After some prompting from Anthak, Paul Lambert put in De Laet for his first start in weeks. Luke Young ensured there would be no clean sheet though as he scored his second goal in two weeks. Martin and Holt from a Hoolahan assist got the goals for Norwich. Barton served his suspension while Cerny got a rare start in goals with Kenny injured. Norwich 2-1.
Arsenal v Fulham
A brilliant goal-line clearance from Chris Baird brought a halt to RVPs sensational scoring run. While Vermaelen looked like he was making up for lost time by scoring both goals...
