For those who take it way too seriously
A review on the transfer window and what it could mean to the Fantasy game and also the season ahead.

Arsenal
Lost - Nasri, Fabregas, Bendtener, Glichy
Gained - Mertesacker, Santos, Arteta, Gervinho,Park,
Fantasy Relevance - Losing Nasri and Fabregas puts a massive creative whole in the side, Wenger bought players late and be very happy to snare Arteta right on the deadline. Players to watch Gervinho already been sent off as the gunners have had 3 reds in there first 3 games, but has the ability to score priced at 8.5 you already have or are better off getting Dzeko at that price. Mertasacker is a good defender but will he even be able to plug the hole that Arsenals defence leaks, Ill probs stay away. Santos is an attacking fullback could be a good buy if hes priced alright if your looking for a scorer down back. Park is a striker but doubt he will have any impact for fantasy. Arteta is an interesting one will slot straight into the vacant spot in midfield. He scores alot of goals from the spot but will he take Arsenals spot kicks?? RVP missing last week he may just well could be a smokey at his price.
Aston Villa
Lost - Ashley Young, Downing, Friedel, Luke Young
Gained - Shay Given, NZogbia, Hutton(loan), Jenas (loan)
Fantasy Relevance - Lost 2 gun midfielders but got NZogbia to replace one of the 2. Shay Given is a straight swap for Friedel. Jenas is a good get. PLayers to watch - AS we have already seen Shay Given staretd dirt cheap in VS and will be a good fantasy player all year as i rate him extremely high and in the best 5 GK in the league. NZogbia had a great year last year for Wigan and could be a good midpriced Mid in your side. Jenas and Hutton both defsinve minded so would stear clear of them unless Villa play Jenas in an advanced role.
Blackburn Rovers
Lost - EMERTON, Phil Jones
Gained - Scott Dann
Fantasy Relevance - Dont know much about any of their other signings but Scott...

Well Grand Final week is upon us. General soreness (well actually “restedâ€) has struck down a lot of Hawks. This is a bit of a pity for Buddy owners who may have been tempted to take a punt on him against the Suns. The stats below point to one player standing out as the best choice for giving the captain’s gig to this week …

Ablett v. Hawthorn

GF 2008: 141 SuperCoach points, 34 disposals
Rd 4 2007: 113 SuperCoach points, 17 disposals
Average is 129 SuperCoach points with 32 disposals.
Note: Great record against the Hawks. Should have a good game this week without Sewell to tag him. May cop the Chance Bateman tag instead in the depleted Hawthorn lineup. In solid form recently averaging 136 over his past four games (125, 145, 134, 138).

Rd 15 2007: 90 SuperCoach points, 20 disposals

Note: Not a great record against the Cats with only one big score back in 2008. Everyone expected him to be rested at some point late in the season so there might be a question mark over whether he plays the entire game on the ball. Bounced back with a huge 154 last week which followed two below par scores of 108 and 102.

Alright, so heres part two of the retrospective, this time coming in from Shags Nags. You only joined us halfway through the season, but Im glad you did. Its been facinating watching you go about it!
Theres been a couple of gutsy calls which Ive been well and truely behind- though Im feeling your pain with LeCras, he was meant to come home with a wet sail- rather than the wet limp hes been doing- reckon you should give him a call, ask him to throw a couple grand your way if you miss out!.
(oh, and just a quick note- the article was written *before* Fyfe was an out! I reckon his rating might get a bit of a touch up now!

We used our final trade (Pav --> Rioli) last week! So later on, over the break, Ill post a list of all our trades which should be interesting to have a look through.
We have continued our rise up the ranks and are now 769th overall! Awesome work Donors! Thats 5 weeks in a row that we have improved our ranking, coming from 3,122nd at the completion of round 18.
We scored 2382 this week - good enough to win 2 of our 3 prelims, with the only loss against TS member Vic_Bitter. This week, we could have done better with both our captain selections and bench selections, but hey - we didnt do too badly with them.
We had GAJ as cap, who scored 125, which was less than 6 of our other players, but still not a low total. and in regards to benches, we sat Prestia and ISmith on the pine... the latter a great decision, but the former scored more than Rioli and Mzungu, but we only lost out about 20 points, so not to worry.
Over the break, will be all our players individual scores for round 23, as well as a look at our three prelims, and our trade history for the season::::::

Welcome to the first in a series of three retrospectives from the biggest names in SuperCoach this year. Were kicking it off with the current third place side YamumLuvsBigCox.

So tune in over the break to catch his own personal view of the season so far- writen from the unique angle of not actually knowing who won yet!

STARTING TEAM
DEF: Gibbs, Goddard, Deledio, Enright, Lower, Heppell, Duigan (Stanley, Toy, Coad)
MID: Swan, Selwood, Murphy, Boyd, Krakouer, Liberatore (Harris, Berwick, Atley)
RUCK: Cox, Sandilands (Smith, Tippett)
FWD: Pavlich, Goodes, N. Riewoldt, Franklin, Higgins, Petrie, Darling (Tapscott, Richardson, Matera)
Picking my starting team was a balance of not having too many players out with the three multi bye rounds, not compromising on must have premiums and very few injury prone players because I thought that with the byes injuries could ruin your year. Then there was looking for value; Boyd for example was very durable and with the change to champion data scoring with regards to turnovers he has increased his output 7-8 pts per game. Goodes price was low and Murphy was due for a break out year. The rookies pretty much picked themselves a lot of value in the Gold Coast.
One lineball decision I had was in tossing up between Higgins, Fyfe and Yarran. I went Higgins because of the round 6 bye and preseason form. He scored well went up in price and I didnt flinch about trading him so I cant complain.
My trading plan was 2 trades before the price rise and 1 sideways during the first 3 multi bye rounds if needed, then try to trade hard to get in a good position early.

My face is as red as a baboons arse and Im sweating like a terrorist in a departure lounge, except my detonator is actually the mouse to my laptop. Theres a chance that this email will end up a major embarrassment... nay... utter humiliation for me. It goes something like this:

The thought of a reply saying “eh, fair dinkum that is total pish†or even worse, no reply at all, has me sweating bullets!

Nice one Walesy, nice one!
So heres some background info – Im an Ayr United (who?) fan. You know Ayr. A.Y. R. The Scottish First Division - The last team that Alex Ferguson played for, the team that sold the legendary right back Stevie Nicol to the all-conquering Liverpool team of the 80s. No? Well, theyre my team and theyre absolute black and white dynamite
I suffer from an unhealthy and inexplicable man-love for Kenneth Mathieson Dalglish aka King Kenny. I watch the EPL religiously, and will mostly be writing about all things EPL. I also find rhyming slang funnier than the average bear.
Achievements to date – being a top Dad, being the first Ayr fan to write for TS, and coming in 681st in last years Supercoach

Just when we thought things couldnt get any better, were told that Brett Emerton has had enough of jellied eels, morris dancing, rioting in the streets and, of course, the rain. Yes, thats right – Mosman markets, Darling Harbour, Zumbos restaurants and taking the A-League up another notch or two is the way forward.
This news, coupled with Harrys return to Oz, has me more excited than a NSW MP who realises that a particular lady of the night accepts credit card.
These two signings are massive news for the A-League and personally, I cant wait until the...

One week to go. This time next week, TAB will have released their odds for most team votes - and you will need to get in quick to jump on any bargains.
Ive spent the last few days completing a review on the season as a whole, and have moved away from each players tally simply being the sum of their 3-2-1s. Results are almost as expected. With one round to play, Judd is a certainty for a top 2 finish. Swan has moved into third favourite behind Pendlebury in most betting markets - and I couldnt agree more. Top 20 broken down below, and then over the page for a detailed look at just who will get the most votes for each team (and as always - this weeks votes).

DW asked the question in the review and I reckon its worth its own thread-
Any interest in meeting up in some kind of central location for a few quiet beers to celebrate a hopeful TS win?
Im sure the iPhones will be on- and hopefully Ill have TS reporting a live ladder for the leading guys, so it could be for some good fun.

With the conclusion of round 23 fast approaching, and Essendon once again following the tried and true formula of winning the ones they shouldnt and losing the ones they should [edit: Ha! They won! Whoda thunk!
] - I reckon its time to ask that all important question-
Reckon youre in the Grand final?
I know that personally, unless Heppell can knock out a 180, then Ive been bundled out by Rommels Legion- give em cotton Lucas!
On the plus side though, I did knock out the Green Jellybeans- so I do have one chance of premiership glory (after being smashed in my third by the cattery).

Fremantle vs Collingwood
Results: Collingwood by 80, 20.12.132 to 8.4.52
So, it was expected- Collingwood would go west and conquer and well thats exactly how it went down.
Pendlebury smashed it, collecting 36 possessions and top scoring with a 154SC. Dane Swan was just behind him on 35 possessions but only managed a 124SC. Big 211 top scored for the Dockers with a 37 hitout, 124SC. Not a bad guy to have if you held him this long!. Lower and Beams both rounded out the top5 on 121. Heres hoping you didnt have him sitting on your bench, particularly if you copped his 10 the other week! On the villians front, Mzungu let us down when we needed him, while Broughton once again underperformed.
One thing I think is crazy about this game is that only 6 Collingwood players scored under the "average" 75, while only 6 Freo pla]yers scored above!
Heroes: Pendlebury, Swan, Sandilands
Villians: Mzungu, Broughton, Sinclair
Hawthorn vs Western Bulldogs
Results: Hawthorn by 46, 16.17.113 to 10.7.67
It was a good effort by the Doggies for the first half, but with the season essentially over, its not suprising that they were going through the motions after half time and were really smashed.
Puopolo put in a season best effort, scoring a massive 151SC off 27 touches...
