For those who take it way too seriously
DW asked the question in the review and I reckon its worth its own thread-
Any interest in meeting up in some kind of central location for a few quiet beers to celebrate a hopeful TS win?
Im sure the iPhones will be on- and hopefully Ill have TS reporting a live ladder for the leading guys, so it could be for some good fun.

With the conclusion of round 23 fast approaching, and Essendon once again following the tried and true formula of winning the ones they shouldnt and losing the ones they should [edit: Ha! They won! Whoda thunk!
] - I reckon its time to ask that all important question-
Reckon youre in the Grand final?
I know that personally, unless Heppell can knock out a 180, then Ive been bundled out by Rommels Legion- give em cotton Lucas!
On the plus side though, I did knock out the Green Jellybeans- so I do have one chance of premiership glory (after being smashed in my third by the cattery).

Fremantle vs Collingwood
Results: Collingwood by 80, 20.12.132 to 8.4.52
So, it was expected- Collingwood would go west and conquer and well thats exactly how it went down.
Pendlebury smashed it, collecting 36 possessions and top scoring with a 154SC. Dane Swan was just behind him on 35 possessions but only managed a 124SC. Big 211 top scored for the Dockers with a 37 hitout, 124SC. Not a bad guy to have if you held him this long!. Lower and Beams both rounded out the top5 on 121. Heres hoping you didnt have him sitting on your bench, particularly if you copped his 10 the other week! On the villians front, Mzungu let us down when we needed him, while Broughton once again underperformed.
One thing I think is crazy about this game is that only 6 Collingwood players scored under the "average" 75, while only 6 Freo pla]yers scored above!
Heroes: Pendlebury, Swan, Sandilands
Villians: Mzungu, Broughton, Sinclair
Hawthorn vs Western Bulldogs
Results: Hawthorn by 46, 16.17.113 to 10.7.67
It was a good effort by the Doggies for the first half, but with the season essentially over, its not suprising that they were going through the motions after half time and were really smashed.
Puopolo put in a season best effort, scoring a massive 151SC off 27 touches...

Hi all,
I guess its the 2nd last edition of Be The Best as Impromptu remains P1 but we also have Shagga and Yamum in the drivers seat as well in P2 and P3.
Theres probably 8 teams in the running for the main prize, and in some ways thats being generous on these teams, but weve seen charges from a long way out, and I guess they are still possible providing everything goes right for these teams. Â Any others and wed need to have some seriously strange results happening with multiple PODs and captains really shaking up the mix.
Heres my take: Impromptu is looking solid. Â The only team that can really damage his in terms of defence is the Cunning Stunts (P4), but being 259 behind, its a big gap to make up on this alone. Â Therefore the gap needs to be breached with not just defence, but also rucks. Â Captains makes a difference, and to be honest, its hard to see mids being a key area of swings unless there are early injuries. Â Which are, of course, possible.
In terms of the team that I think can do the most damage to Impromptu, Id suggest it is 2008 winner, resident quiet man and fast finisher Lings Bandits (P8). Â There is a strong defence, backed with the strongest coverage of Gibbs/Scotland. Â The midfield pits Murphy/Judd, Dal Santo/Selwood. Â Pretty even, but you could see Lings team getting an edge. Â Then you have the forwards, where again Johnson and Rioli are entered for again maximum pain to the P1. Â Combined with Le Cras with WCE neat run home, you can see a team finely balancing risk and reward. Â This is emphasised by Mumford in the R2 slot where Petrie is up against it.
On these changes alone, without captains influence, I could see potentially 80-90 points going the way of the Bandits each round. Â This would leave the rest in the lap of the risk taking captain selection. Â And of course, if I were Impromptu, Id stick with the most solid choice that I can, and if I were the Bandits, I would maximise the pain by using a...

Yeeha! Into the top 1000!!
Awesome Donors!
We scored 2,366 in Round 22. Which was good enough to move us up almost 300 places to, the new pb ranking of, 864th!!
Our bench selections were as good as could be expected, and our cap choice was almost spot on.
We could have done slightly better with bench selections, but we would never have been bold enough to start Puopolo over Broughton, or Prestia over Pavlich, so we cant be too critical there. And our captains choice of Ablett was a great decision, as he was our 3rd best player this week, and we would have been unlikely to choose Boyd or Mummy as cap; and it should also be noted that our VC - Swan - was our next highest scorer too.
We won one league match and lost one too... which means we are in 3 prelims this week. The loss was by 25 points to Gnewitt - coach of the Cunning Linguists - who was up for a bit of banter in <a href="http://tooserious.net/ucantbetooserious-%E2%80%93-donor-team-round-21#comments" target="_blank">last weeks thread[/url] which was great! - Same cant be said of the result though

Welcome back to the League v League competition and my goodness werent there some upsets last weekend. Some late runs from the lower ranked leagues are not unexpected given players could have left their trading salvos to right to the very end.
The results:
TS Donor Kebabs 35974 lost to TS NBA Crew 36100
TS Platinum 35860 lost to TS Tin Lids 36748
Too Serious Donors 35892 defeated TS 2Sec Too Slow 35799
FF v TS Challenge 35167 lost to TS Superleague 35677
Three of the top 4 are out, and only the Donors remain from the ranks of the top 20s.
So for this weekends matches, its down to 4 leagues to be Crowned the Inaugural League vs League Too Serious Knock Out Challenge Victorious Representatives! Â Join and have a look after the break!

Semi Finals: 36100 - defeated TS Donor Kebabs
TS Superleague
Round of 16: 38405 - defeated Waaaay Too Serious
Semi Finals: 35677 - defeated FF v TS Challenge
On paper this looks like a fairly easy win to the NBA Crew. Â They have done the hard yards beating two strong leagues in their first two battles, and this one should be like swatting flies. Â An interesting aside is the clear drop off of scores from one game to another. Â Obviously most players copped the putrid Petrie-Pavlich double. Â The NBA Crew will need to be on their game, but you would suggest it would take $$$ of Superleague-esque proportions (or maybe just NRL) to see them miss a GF position.

Hi all,
Not a huge amount to say, because frankly we dont have too many trades around. And what a week it has been with injuries, suspensions and rumours abounding as the General comes once again late in a year to stalk his territory.
Personally, being a General myself, I cant think that my friend Soreness is going to be doing too much more than irritation the next fortnight. Facts remain that teams in the running for finals need continuity more than rests (on the whole) and as such may be rested through training or by being moved to half forward instead of on-ball during a match. Teams out of the finals are generally out of Supercoach teams. A lesson learned by yours truly after getting in Sylvia for the last 3 games. At least he played one (unlike Shaw).
So, down to business. If youre like me, you need to find coverage for one defender, a mid and two forwards. If youre like me, you have or can only use two trades. And if youre like me, you have stuff all coverage on the bench because they go and smash a leg (Strauss/Toy), a person (Hibberd/Sylvia) or maybe a coach in future (Bewick/Richardson).
Im left with some awkward choices but thankfully, others in my league matches are in just the same pickle, so its helpful to know Im not on my own.
So there are a range of options. Do you go hard this week and consider a trade out of Judd/Murphy to win this week. Remember there are no prizes for top score next week if you are eliminated. Using Judds money, you can get Selwood, and with MPP it could cover the forwards in one hit (with someone like Mzungu or Smith). Whacko!
Or you could decide straight swapping in defence or up forward. Its only two rounds to go, so heres a list of players who I think would be worth considering...
Mids - Mitchell, Priddis, Moloney, Hodge, Swallow, Beams, Thompson, Selwood. All have claims, though Mitchell, Hodge and Priddis I think have the General Star over them.
Defenders - Gibson and Bock the standouts...
