TooSerious
For those who take it way too seriously
Alright, take 2... probably shouldnt have done the one earlier on my phone. Here it is again, and hopefully the comments and read more works correctly this time.
I’m doing this post on my phone this week so I hope it works out alright! Sorry it has taken this long to do it this week – I’ve been really excited about the teams progress and wanted to share, but just haven’t got round to it yet… So without any further adieu:
We have reached our best ranking of the season now! After a score of 2474 in round 21, we moved up about 250 spots to now be ranked 1156th! First time in top 1200 – well done Donors!!
We won 3 out of our 5 leagues and have only been eliminated from 1 of those 2 losses.
We did 2 trades last week. We left the decisions until really late in the week and therefore didn’t have a lot of people contributing to the choices of who to bring in. We traded heppell to Jonas of PA; and zSmith to Mumford. Both trades look to be alright at this stage. We had come up with 2 options of who to downgrade to – faulks and Jonas – but nobody had given their preference, except for (I think it was) JPK or heaveymen who had pointed out Jonas was named onfield, whereas faulks was on the bench for freo. I ended up making the call on which one to bring in, and I took that observation into consideration, but – truth be told – I picked Jonas because my daughter has an imaginary friend by the same name. no… That did play a part, but I actually thought Jonas would get more of a run the way ports season is going.
Swan was our cap, which was a great decision! And our bench choices were sound, but we didn’t really have any bench decisions to make last week – with 22 premium...

Hi all,
Its a day late, but in some ways, given the need to be prepared to deal with "The General", Best Buys really fits with waiting a bit longer to see the teams, then to work out the best options from there.
It is an interesting situation for quite a few teams. Â Some teams in leagues are now having a weeks rest, but the same teams are in cut throat matches in very competitive leagues as well. Â Do you trade or sit tight? Â Its always a tough call to work out. Â In the end, Id suggest you will need to try to pick your best team regardless.
If it means replacing someone this week who will certainly not play in one game from here, then might be the best option.
Ive also looked at the ticker. Â Yeah, that device not that many go to, and even less understand. Â Â Its worth a look. Â Basically look at R22-R24 and if there is a nice red or golden outlook for your club and position then thats something very helpful. Â If theres a white mark (bye) or anything in the blue and green, then there is considerable cause for alarm. Â When theres 3 games to go, you need to be getting someone who will go Bang-Bang-Bang and not just one firework. Â Didak looms haha.
So, in looking, there are some interesting candidates for good byes. Â Im thinking that defenders are going to be most sought after given teams probably have some of Scotland, Gibbs and Enright to cover - and maybe Heppell at a pinch.
Again, its Johncock who appears the best of the options. Â And a good run according to the ticker. Â Stefan Martin has a good run according to the ticker, but his output has been cut since Jamars return. Â So, for mine, if you dont have Stiffy and need to cover Enright-Gibbs or something like that, might be worth a straight Enright-Stiffy swap.
For the mids, well here you could be needing to cover players like Selwood, Bartel, Judd, Murphy - even Watson possibly on run home. Â Scott Thompson is my push for a good candidate. Â For my team a...

Votes over the page ladies and gents, but some points of interest:
- C. Judd seemingly unstoppable on his way to his third medal, but stranger things have happened on Brownlow night, and Scotty still within striking distance (although hes the only one left).
- S. Black put the most Brisbane votes to bed (at least IMO).
- S. Mitchell should be starting in the middle of this years AA Team alongside Judd and Pendlebury, and could very possibly poll the most votes on the night. Would be a tragedy.
- M. Priddis now representing the best value on the team front - still paying $3 after BOG performance and now have him 4 votes clear of Big Cox.
- T. Cotchin also making himself more of likely winner for the Tigers.

Who was brave enough to pick Buddy last week as he pulled out his highest score of the season? Or Cyril? On the other side of the coin, who picked Selwood (or any Cats player) or Goddard or Hodge? Or, to a lesser extent, the disappointing Dal Santo or Pendlebury?
This week, again, it seems difficult to pick because we are spoilt for choice. Let’s look at the numbers:

Ablett v. Adelaide
Rd 8 2011: 198 SuperCoach points, 41 disposals
Rd 16 2010: 76 SuperCoach points, 19 disposals
Rd 18 2009: 115 SuperCoach points, 21 disposals
Rd 4 2009: 197 SuperCoach points, 46 disposals
Rd 14 2008: 91 SuperCoach points, 25 disposals
Rd 19 2007: 86 SuperCoach points, 19 disposals
Rd 11 2007: 104 SuperCoach points, 21 disposals
Average is 124 SuperCoach points with 27 disposals.
Note: Very puzzling figures against the Crows. Two huge scores against them including one earlier this season (boosted by his 15 possessions and 3 goals in the first quarter). He was tagged by Douglas in that game. In previous games has been tagged by Reilly and Shirley. Some very poor games against the Crows too. Been ultra consistent in the latter part of this season averaging 141 over his past 9 games (not including the game where he was injured and only scored 19).
Pendlebury v. Brisbane
Rd 10 2010: 132 SuperCoach points, 33 disposals
Rd 18 2009: 159 SuperCoach points, 36 disposals
Rd 4 2009: 147 SuperCoach points, 35 disposals
Rd 2 2008: 71 SuperCoach points, 12 disposals
Rd 17 2007: 6 SuperCoach points, 1 disposals
Rd 9 2007: 132 SuperCoach points, 20 disposals
Average is 108 SuperCoach points with 23 disposals.
Note: We can disregard the Rd 17 2007 game as Pendlebury was injured in the first quarter. Taking that score out, his average rises to 128 SuperCoach points with 27 disposals. The 71 SuperCoach points he scored in 2008 was a game played in the wet. Otherwise, he has scored big in all other games. Most recently tagged by Rischitelli....

Massive week from the FF v TS Challenge crew. Â Huge effort with 38910 which youd assume should be good enough. Â The Premier League fell with a thud with a close contest seeing them go down to the NBA Crew. Â My combined Lower, Vardy and Pendlebury captain combination probably sunk the Premier League. Â Sorry old chaps!
Matchups for next weekend:
Match 9: TS Donor Kebabs v TS NBA Crew (incentive on a stick for a return to the courts)
Match 10: TS Platinum v TS Tin Lids (battle of the metals)
Match 11: Too Serious Donors v TS 2Sec Too Slow (donate before its too late...)

First things first, while getting these EPL stats up, it made me realise that while this site has a lot of folk who are tooserious about what we do, there are plenty of people that are stopping in maybe once a week to get the skinny on how best to win their league- so I want to ask the question- are we providing a good service for you guys, and if there was anything you could change to make the site better, what would that be? Any idea will be going into the development pot for next year, so any and all suggestions are welcome (even from the TooSerious of you all!).
Though not from you Joshy. Or Hornsy.
Anyways, the more observant of you would have notice the EPL tab over on the stats page- what we have over there is simply a stripped back version of TS for predicting salary movements in the VS Epl[/url] comp.
It should have the round 1 stats up after lockout tomorrow (ahem, today) sometime- and it will need some testing of course- then there is the salary calculator itself which will need a bit of work (and me data-entering the fixture into the database) to get it happening- but hey, itll come.

St Kilda vs Collingwood
Result: Collingwood by 19, 14.5.89 to 10.10.70
I dont think looking at the results of this game fairly states just how competitive St. Kilda actually was, there was never really a chance where I thought they were out of it- which is a rare thing to happen when playing Collingwood this year. To futher state their case though, they actually had more scoring shots than the Pies and absolutely dominated the last 10 minutes of the game- which is really the first time all year Ive seen the Pies tire, perhaps they should have pulled up stumps at half time last week? Any Pies fans out there reckon they could be running out of gas at the business end? Or reckon Im just muck raking?
For the game though, Dane Swan did what Dane Swan does, 34 touches, 2 goals and 156SC, which his mate Dale Thomas trail behind with 31 touches and 133SC. Joey Montagna also managed a 133SC off just 24 touches and 3 goals. Filling out the rest of the top5 was Davis, who had the most possessions for the day with 36 and 128SC and Ben Reid whos 120SC came off 21 touches.,Plenty of villians in the game tonight, but not really in the premium front, NRoo but up another 70+ score, Milne couldnt get started, just 6 touches and a goal for a 35SC, Kozi Kozied with a 29SC while the sub effected Diddles managed just 28SC off a 47DT.
Heroes: Swan, Thomas, Montagna
Villians: Didak, Riewoldt, Milne
Hawthorn vs Port Adelaide
Result: Hawthorn by 165, 31.1.197 to 5.2.32
Well, what can you say, I predicted 102 in my pre game looksee, but wow, once again Port have surpassed my expectations! On the plus side, they managed an extra scoring shot over last week, so woo! Hawthorn on the other hand took full advantage of Port lack of......
