TooSerious

For those who take it way too seriously

Aka, the shamozzle. From what little Ive seen, it looks like everyone had a ripper week this week! I know I did enough to move into 125th spot, which aint too shabby. Still an utter mile off the pace though! :p

I seems that weve had a bit of a perfect storm get in the way of our stats, first- no internet. Yep, went down on Friday, is still down now.

actually, I wouldnt really call it a storm, its just two things- that hardly makes a storm does it? Anyways, the second thing is, and why I simply didnt just drive myself to some internets. I dunno what its called, but it doesnt feel like the flu, but boy-oh-boy has it knocked me sideways. Seriously, Ive been sleeping for 50 of the past 60 hours- and Jo is gunna have so good delirium induced stories. Oh, she had been an absolute star.

So yeah- internet down, sucks! The complete inability to stand and function- sucks even harder!

*but* I have a bunch of things to get done today, namely the newsletter as well as announcing the winner of our two comps! So stick around, watch how we go- and if I make any mistakes, be sure to email me and I fix em up when the letters stop spinning.

(oh, and mad propz to the mother-in-law who got me to her place and propped me up in front of the pc!)
It seems my job is getting a lot easier. I have been selling the idea of Ablett as the perma-captain in recent weeks and the statistics below don’t change my opinion in the slightest. Just check out the numbers …

Good afternoon all. Id love to do a better "Best Buys" but as the TS stats sheet is so often part of my routine, its not easy to get all the information in one place elsewhere. Im starting this thread to begin to allow everyone to discuss their trades, and then Ill update the main thread with more information when I can piece it together.

What I will say is this round, expect peoples forward lines to get smashed, and expect scores to be diminished quite greatly from where they have been in rare air the last few matches.
Those who can provide the best cover and get hurt least by injuries in their forward setups, can make a good move this week.

Would I trade Rioli? Not sure. Youd have to think about doing that very carefully.
Would I trade Franklin? No
Should I have thought more about a smarter setup than having Pavlich, Mzungu and Sylvia in the forward line? Yep, no doubt about it, thats a big clanger for my trading recently.

I think this week Im not trading and will just take my punishment. Im expecting a score in the 2100 range, and for par to be 2250.

Happy to have a discussion on your options, and hope to get some more analysis done later in the week.
Hi all.  Our good mate St Kilda Thunda (aka Shaun) has produced a ripper preview for the TooSerious Champions League.  Remember, yes thats the competition we started way back in Round 4 as a knockout (and also a points competition), and its set to continue in the multi bye.   As Im participating in this weekends action, Ill leave the unbiased report to the Thunda.  Just realise that I am prone to pull a shifty every now and then, and guerilla warfare, while not Rommels specialty, is something that he could get a taste for!

Im interested in the thoughts of the masses as to how I can get my team over the line in this one.   And Im sure so are the other combatants!   Bring. It.  On.

Shauns report is - you guessed it - after the break...  Enjoy.

Well its been a fair wait for the next week of our Champions League Knockout Competition. For those that have no idea what we are going on about, basically we decided to run a knockout competition between 32 of the TooSerious Donors to keep us all interested during these otherwise boring Multi Bye weekends. We decided to have 2 separate parts to it, the H2H Knockout Competition and also Total Points Competition. That way those that were unlucky to be knocked out in week 1 still had something to play for. To be eligible to play in any Donor Competitions all you need to do is head over <a href="http://tooserious.net/donate.php">HERE[/url] and give a little back to the site that you gives you the edge over all your mates.

The fight for the total points championship really hotted up during the last week and Tunas took full advantage of some horrible scores out there, jumping from a lazy 15th to 1st place with a impressive score of 2112. The top 12 places are separated by only 70 points but I would now say after Tunas performance that even those 100-150 points back aren’t out of it just yet.

Here is a recap of the last Multi Bye weeks results.

WEEK 3 (Round 6)

Match 25 – The...
As was the case with most, we scored our highest score of the season - 2425 - this week, which was good enough to hold our ground in the overall rankings, only moving up 242 places, to be ranked 2866th.

Our score could have actually been much better. Our captain choice of Ablett was spot on; however our bench selections were not that great this week. In all, but the rucks, lines we had bench players score more than starters. We could be excused for starting Boyd over Iles, Buddy over ISmith, and Scotland over Pup and Hep; but benchers: Mzungu, Puopolo and Heppell all outscored ISmith and Otten this week.

We made one trade last week: Krakouer to Callinan. It was an interesting week in regards to trades, as we put off making the decision until quite late as there were concerns over our ruck line, but the inclusion of Vardy into the Cats lineup made it a bit easier for us - but only a little... The vote was very close, between 3 options - 1 trade, 2 trade and none at all - with 1 trade obviously coming out on top. The trade made us some cash, but personel wise, was not so great with Callinan getting injured, but he is sitting on the pine for us anyway, so not to worry.

Over the break are all the players scores for Round 15:::::::::

Judd returns to his "rightful" spot at the top of the leaderboard at the conclusion of round 15.  Both he and the perma-captain - the pair that have gone 1-2 over the last two years - were the main movers this week, both very influential in their teams wi...ah, games.  Which leads me to the following statement: Ablett is the biggest mystery surrounding this years count.

He will cleary get most votes for his team.  THAT - you can put the house on.  And quote me.  But how close will he go to winning?  His form since his monster game in round 8 has been terrific, but how many 3s can he pull when he is constantly playing in a losing side?  He has a history of polling 3s, but he also has a history of being in a winning team...

What about precedence?  You have to go way back to 1936 when Denis Ryan won playing at Fitzroy, polling 26 votes from a total of 18 games that included just a measly 2 wins!  Its hard to find the similarities though - Den played at Centre Half Back that year, and there were only 12 teams running around then.  And there was never any chance of a carbon tax...

What may tip it in the little masters favour, is if there is a low count - which its shaping up to be.  Judd and Boyd lead my count at 18, whereas in the last two years the leader has been on 22 at this stage, and finished with 30.  Cooney however had 19, and finished with 24 back when he won in 08.

If it stays under 25....who knows.

First things first. Life without the internet freaking sucks!

Secondly, wow- there were some fricking massive scores this weekend!!!

Personally, I got a 2563, which I thought was alright- til seeing StKildaThunda and his massive 2715!

Huge scores this week- reckon the highest score of the year will go this week!

So, how have you all gone?
Happy: Ablett, Judd. Maccas and their slow wifi.
Hurting: Internet connection going down yesterday, meaning that the live feeds may or may not run, also means that the stats update is more than likely going to be late- and also that there will be no review as I wont be here to post one! Seriously, Southern Cross Telco- Help us out guys! Do you not know the importance of us having a connection!

Unless Lucas wants to knock something up! ;)

So, how you guys going? Pick one of those two as the big C, or are those two in the hurting column?
So the community of Supercoaches around the nation threw everything but the kitchen sink at The Cheeky Boys, but still, the team managed to remain in P1.

We all know from watching the Tour de France, that repeated attacks on the leader can be tiring to withstand, but that said, most leaders have implemented energy saving strategies to get them into the lead with enough energy to put on the bursts that sap their rivals confidence.

Last week wasnt the best for The Cheeky Boys, heck even I pulled back some ground on him with Selwood sitting on the pine!   But he continued to strengthen his team, and a couple of incidents I reckon have gone his way.

First, Sandilands went down like the proverbial sack o.  This played majorly into his hands, because the fear would have been genuine about losing 30 points per game with no real way of trading around it.

Second, Watson went down, but theres a few great replacements that Cheeky can use to neutralise opposition strengths.   Is it Swan or Dal Santo who will be utilised in this manner?  Time will tell.

I will have another look at how the top coaches are managing their resources coming up to the multi byes in R16 and R19, after the break of course.

Last week was one for the ages for the two main Supercoach commenters here, the Dirty Whorks and Impromptu, both smacking back ground on the main leader, and in Dirtys case, keeping the trades in the locker.

It makes me again think that Dirty is the one who has some tricks up the sleeve to pull out.   However, his recent possibly Whorks-driven and one might with an MRP ruling call Reckless trade to General Hodge from Seagull Swan might leave him with poo in the eyes.   Swan has got through the bye, is clearly the straight forward option for Cheeky (though cash might be a major consideration) to trade out of Watson.

Hodge v Swan is I believe a make or break for the Whorks, and like this weeks game, they are up against it, particularly...
Wow, round 15 already! How the season is flying!
