Merry Christmas to everyone- from all of us here at TooSerious!

Its been a great year- and I gotta say, a very enjoyable pre-season with whats been going on in these parts of late. But its time to start gearing up for the next season. Weve got our new look and feel almost complete now. A truck load of new features developed. A new forum that Im hoping keeps true to the feel of this site and as always, some of the best thinkers in the realms of fantasy sports.

Well be kicking off our first competition with the release of TS 3.1, its currently sponsorless- so if anyone wants to get on board for a prize, drop me an email- But it should be fun and will hopefully get people into the user-driven content that well be angling at- cause hey, its the community that makes this place great- and I reckon its the community that will make this place even better!

Anyways, I just want to thank everyone out there for all the efforts youve all put in- the writers, the commenters, the readers, the lurkers, the trolls, Ben, the spammers- all of you. Merry Christmas and have a happy new year guy.

Oh, and if you feel the desire to take a nikileak style photo over the next week- think twice!
I joked last week that Fudge was on a roll after his 1st win, but now he definitely is - after beating Owen this week. So that leaves no undefeated teams any more! Besides our two easy-beats, this comp is extremely close - with any team able to knock off any of the others!

Weve had a couple of massive trades this week! * 1st one was involving me - we managed to organise a 3 team trade involving 13 players all up! Heres how it went: DSK sends Durant, Gasol, Udrih, Bledsoe, Amundson &amp; Daniels to anthak; anthak sends Pierce, Nene, Diaw, Frye &amp; Turner to DSK; anthak sends SWilliams to Walesy; Walesy sends CJ Watson to DSK. * 2nd one was between Dan and Heaver, involving 9 players: Wade Machine sent Westbrook, Martin, McGee &amp; Biedrins to Heaver, in exchange for Sefolosha, Horford,Wall, Delfino &amp; Jordan. Some huge names getting moved on there in both trades! Well just have to wait and see how it all pans out. I know with mine there have been some mixed results between the time the trade was agreed on and when it actually went through... Paul Pierce has had his best 2 games of the season (72 and 95 fpts); Bledsoe and Amundson have both started a game when they were expected to be bench players; &amp; Turner got his first DNP-CD of his career... and I see that Chris and Smitty have just dropped him to waivers - bit hasty i reckon. He should do alright over the remainder of the season.

At the time of writing this, our poll was tied up with 10 votes taken. I have decided the outcome, and that is that we will have a trade deadline. I just think its much fairer to have a deadline, than not to. There are obviously pros and cons for both options, as evidenced by the split vote, but I would personally rather have a deadline. Three big reasons are that: interest may drop off towards the end of the season from some owners; AFL will be on a lot of our minds in a couple of months; and the main one - it avoids teams not in the running for our playoffs being a...
Hey Guys

Thought id get a post up as the last one wont let us write comments on it nice and quick as dont have much time and will try add to it in the meantime. Manchester united have emergenged on top of the league with a 1-0 over Arsenal last week and have a game in hand. Man City the big movers are now 3rd only 2 points off the top while Chelsea continue to drop points and find themselves 4th. Spurs 5th and Bolton 6th are doing great but a bit of a gap from 4th. Liverpool find themselves midtable with Hodgson under alot of pressure. The bottom 3 see Wigan Wolves and West Ham in the relegation zone.

The biggest news to come out of England this week is the Carlos Tevez transfer request. So many stories coming out is he homesick?? Does he hate Mancini is there a problem with Brian Cook and other Man City board members, is he genuinely homesick and willing to take a 1000% wage drop or quit the game altogether or does he want more money?? Time will tell to see how this one plays out.

All 6 English clubs have qualified for the next round of Europe with Spurs, Arsenal Manchester United and Chelsea all progressing to the round of 16 in the Champs League and Man City and Liverpool progressing to the last 32 of the Europa cup. The draw for both compeititons will take place Saturday morning our time.

Hey Guys

The 3rd test starts tomorrow in perth with the poms holding a 1-0 lead and Australia only 17 wickets to date in this series. Few changes have been made to the Australian team. Katich is most likely out for the rest of the summer and depending how is replacement Phillip Hughes go could spell the end of his career. Marcus North has been dropped for poor form and Young all-rounder Steve smith has been added. Xavier Doherty has been given the flick with an avergae of over 100 in favour for Michael Beer (love the name) who has only played 6 first class games in his carreer. Doug Bollinger has been dropped from the squad for Mitchell Johnson.

England are flying and have only made one change with Injured fast bowled Stuart Broad out for the rest of the series, Chris Tremmlett will replace him.

Likely line-ups

Australia 1 Watson 2 Hughes 3 Ponting 4 Clarke 5 Hussey 6 Haddin 7 Smith 8 Johnson 9 Harris 10 Siddle 11 Hilfenhaus 12 Beer. De3pending which way the Aussies go with the 4 pace attack and Smith or play Beer. If beer plays Hilfy/Johnson are on the block.

England 1 Struass 2 Cook 3 Trott 4 Pietersen 5 Collingwood 6 Bell 7 Prior 8 Swann 9 Anderson 10 Tremlett 11 Finn 12 Paensar.

Matchup 6 saw a couple of the regular blowouts, but not many close games, with only 3 games decided by less than 100 points - and only one of them by less than 70 - between Dan and Danny10, in probably the match of the round. Matchup 6 also saw the unbeaten run of Jasmine come to an end! With Owen, now, our only undefeated player. Fudge pulled through for his first win, which leaves Fzilla and Elbonz the only ones yet to get a W!

In the NBA, Boston and San Antonio lead their respective conferences. Apart from them, Miami, New York and Dallas are the form teams - the latter winning their last 12 games; and the other two, both winning 9 of their last 10. Durant (27.4 ppg), Love (15.6 rpg) and Rondo (13.7 apg) are still on top of the three main stats categories. Paul has an astonishing 3.18 steals pg to lead the league; and aussie Andrew Bogut leads the league in blocks with 2.94 pg. On the negative side of things - Westbrook is still leading the way with 4.2 TOs pg, and DeMarcus Cousins leads the league with 4.2 fouls pg.

We have a new holder of the Fewest Points in a round trophy, with Elbonz taking out the first 5 titles, Fzillas Pikus United has joined the ranks scoring 461 this week. It doesnt look as though Fzilla has been around since matchup 2, as he has only been using a max of 10 players every week since then. Not sure whats going on with him, but that makes 2 absent coaches at the moment with Elbonz still missing as well.

On a brighter note - Owen is our first winner of the Dirk Diggler award as he is the only undefeated team remaining! Starting the season with a 6 game winning streak so far! Well done Owen! :D

Now over the break will be the matchup 6 game reviews, and the previews for matchup 7  ::::::::::::::<!--more-->

So, as one little piggy says, "Thats all folks".  Well...not quite, there are still playoff games to go but thats the end of the regular season for 2010.  It was an exciting and close finish to what had been an exciting and close season.  The final weeks match-ups were highly anticipated because of the 7 teams in contention, 6 were playing each other, with only 4 spots up for grabs.  In the end it was the West that were the dominant conference having 3 of the 4 playoff positions and also 3 of the top 4 season high point scorers.  The 4 finalists, all finishing with an 8&amp;5 record were Sam Crow, The Pack and Under Achievers from the west and Mr Wiggles in the East.  Well done lads and good luck in the playoffs.  Now for a quick review...

<!--more-->

The first of the games that counted was the match-up between MR WIGGLES(e) and AUSSIE BATTLERS(e), this was 1v2 with the winner through to the playoffs. It went down to the wire with Mr Wiggles getting ahead for the first time in the Monday game due to another hero performance from Tom Brady.

Next up saw BOLDIN SHOWERS (w) take on SAM CROW(w) and once again it was for a place in the playoffs. Once again it was Sam Crows star performer of the season Michael Vick, who top scored and got sam crow into the playoffs.

The next big match-up was THE PACK(w) against UNDER ACHIEVERS(w). Under ACHIEVERS had to win to make playoffs, and The Pack was already assured a post season place. UAs rose to the occasion and toppled the ladder leading pack 101-83, to book his seat at the finals table.

The last game that counted for playoff births was TEAM STOWIE(e) against TOO SERIOUSESES (e), Stowie had to win and Too SERIOUSESES was already out of it but that didnt mean that the TSes were going easy on him though. TSes finished the season on high beating Stowie and knocking him out of the race 87-80.

The final game was a dead rubber between DOOBIA DOOBS (w) and ADELAIDE MAGGOTS (e). The maggots smashed...
Still 2 undefeated teams! And both of them had >200 point margins this week. Owen has jumped ahead of Jasmine on the points for ladder and leads the league in that category; however Jasmines Mob are playing better D, as they have the least points against in the league, leaking more than 200 less points than Team Stowie who are 2nd best...  at defense that is - not sure exactly what that says in this game - haha.

There are three teams with only the one loss: Wade Machine, Dannys Lebronts, and Team Heaver. While there are still three teams yet to register a win: Fudges Sixers, Pikus United, and Team El Bonanzas. Interestingly Fudges Sixers have the worst D in the league,  meaning they play D like the Golden State or that they are just plain unlucky to cop teams on fire.

In the NBA, Boston are leading the East with a 16-4 record; and San Antonio are leading the West with 17-3, however Dallas are biting at their heals, on a 9 game winning streak, only 1 game back in 2nd place. Durantula is still leading the league in points with 27.4 pg; Love is miles ahead of the rest with 15.3 rpg; and Rondo is even further ahead of the next best in assists with 14.1 pg. Westbrook is committing the most TOs with 4 pg. And Pau Gasol and Love both have the most dub dubs, both achieving this feat in 75% of their games, while no-one has had more than 1 TD so far.

In our league, Pau Gasol is on 59.9 fppg, and there are 3 ahead of him: Rondo on 60.1 fppg, Westbrook on 60.5 fppg and Chris Paul leading the way with 61 fppg. 8 of the top 10 scorers are PGs, however the next 8 players are not.

And just quickly, we made another change to Elbonzs team: We dropped Donald Sloan as he is stuck in the D-League not likely to get a gig in the big time for a while, and we replaced him with Marcus Thornton as he was the winner of the poll we conducted. I want to say again that if Elbonz wants Sloan when/if he returns, then he should get first dibs on him, I reckon. Same goes for Redd...
So, its time for the rookie draft and the PSD. Previously just a meh day its stature has been raised significantly with the advent of the mature aged rookie.

So who will be this years Barlow/Podsiadly? Will there even be one? Surely with the compromised drafts, teams more than ever are going to be looking to bolster their lists with some of these guys.

Follow the draft live at- <a href="http://psrdrafttracker.afl.com.au/">http://psrdrafttracker.afl.com.au/[/url]

Preseason Draft
Pick 1. Nathan Ablett. Love the photo! Premiership winning forward, its not suprising that he was picked up by the GC. I reckon, despite a few years out of the comp, a price of $250k will see him ignored by most. A rookie pricing though might make him relevant.

Pick 2. Blayne Wilson. Blayne- really? thats a name these days? nevermind- He was expected to go to the Eagles, and here he is. An All Australian U18 in 2009, injuries have seen him go backwards- far enough to fall out of the National draft. I guess well have to see how he fits into the Eagles lineup off the half back line. Definitely one to watch.

Pick 3. Bachar Houli. Priced in the $400+ range, no way is his lack of opportunity at the Bombers going to be enough to get him a gig in anyones fantasy squad.

Pick 4. Michael Hibberd. Won the Fothergill-Round Medal for the most promising young player in the VFL. This is the same award that has been won in the last 3 years by Barlow, Nahas and Valenti- perhaps not staying players, but all three made a splash in their first year. Definitely one to watch.

Pick 5. Cameron Bruce. Have Hawthorn gone completely mad!?! Priced at a whopping 102 average, I cant see anyway hell be improving on that with a change of environment. Have the Hawks done the right thing topping up their list once again? Or is it just my blatant bias showing through?

Pick 6. John Anthony. Averaged 75 in 2009,...
I know this is a little late but I have been distracted by the cricket so i thought Id give a quick review of the round and go through the match ups next. Only one round to go now, 7 teams in the running for 4 playoff spots and 6 of those teams are playing each other this week. That is pretty much the perfect end to what has been a very close season. In the last two weeks the Eastern division has really caught up on the west and now could have two teams make it through to post season action, which makes it even more the interesting. It should be a good playoff series, with still plenty of action happening on the waivers as teams tweak their squads trying desperately to get any advantage over the opponent. There was a couple of huge omissions this week, with some high profile being dumped from squads.
In the NFL this week it was the Thanksgiving round (thanksgiving sounds great; a public holiday, a Xmas lunch without the Xmas BS, and three games of football). The round started with the Pats dominating the Lions and Brady being given a perfect game rating for the day. The Jets also won which sets up a huge game this week against the Pats. These teams have equal records, the winner should take out the division and the AFC. There is plenty of big games over the next few weeks as almost every division is up for grabs, any ways, in our league...
<!--more-->In the East;
Wiggles Vs Aussie Battlers; Whoever wins is guaranteed to make playoffs.  If wiggles loses and Stowie wins, wiggles will need to outscore Stowie by 28 to make playoffs as well as rely on results from the west.  Aussie Battlers  is guaranteed playoffs unless he is outscored by over 50 points.
Stowie Vs Too Seriouseses; Stowie needs to win to make playoffs and also hope that wiggles doesnt outscore him by 28 and also rely on results from the west.
Adelaide Maggots Vs Doobia Doobs; Neither of these teams can make playoffs
In the West;
The Pack Vs Under...
So, word has it that league play will be revamped next year.

Along with the traditional H2H league, there will also be one that allows for a pure points-based leader- with unlimited entrants.

Sounds good to me! Heres hoping that if theyre tweaking that section, that they are also allowing for unlimited leagues!
