For those who take it way too seriously

Hey guys, Ive been asked if I can put out a call to anyone interested in joining "The Superleague". Now, I know that personally I wont have the time to put in the effort that this comp deserves, however, I reckon theres probably a couple of tragics still coming here that might be.

The pitch goes something like this-

The Superleague has been running for about 6-7 years with the same managers, and because of its great success a 2nd league started up this year, which has a couple of spots available. It works off the SuperCoach scoring system, but is a constant competition - you take players in the draft just like an AFL team, can trade them to other teams, and maintain your squad from season to season. Obviously unlike SuperCoach each player is only on 1 team, and the squads are very even at the moment with only a couple of hundred points separating them.

Like SuperCoach it runs from round 1-18, with finals in round 19-22, with premierships, trade week, draft periods, Brownlows etc. I dont run the competition myself but thought this would be a great place to look for 1-2 managers. Please feel free to contact me if anyone is interested, it doesnt take much time and is a lot of fun. Once people really get into it they dont leave, as I said Superleague 1 has had the same guys there for 6-7 years! I only started in Superleague 2 this season and am very attached to my team already.

The 2 teams available are the Bombers and the Gold Coast, but can be renamed to whatever you want (for example the team you support). Heres some of the players in each squad:

Suns (Travis Cloke, Burgoyne, Jarrad McVeigh, Fyfe, Giansiracusa, Priddis, Swan, Drummond, Masten, Rohan)
Bombers (Cale Morton, Rawlings, Symes, Harry Taylor, Ryan Griffen, Jarrad Grant, Pendlebury, Bower, Scott Thompson, Sheppard, Grima)

So there is definitely talent in there to work with. Now is a good time to join as the trade and draft periods will be on...
I dont know what to say- a draw... bloody hell! how freaking awesome! :D

Love the crowd shots- everyone looks so confused. :D
So, this is it. One final list of players for the final game in September.

St Kilda have once again burnt McEvoy, replacing him with Baker- whos missed the last 13 weeks.

Not to be outdone, Collingwood have brought in the now fixed and fantasy football spud- Prestigiacomo at the expense of Nathan Brown. Bad luck to the kid. And bad luck to Goldsack, going out for Neon Leon. I guess for his sake, he better touch the ball this time. ;)

Anyways, I know Lucas will be madly supporting the Pies, so I guess I better even the score by throwing a little love towards the Saint. Milne or no Milne. :)

Go you Sainters!!!

Anyways, full teams are over the break

Welcome to Week 2 roundup.  It was an absolute edge of your seat round with a measly 8 points being the biggest winning margin!  To make things even more interesting, only Stowie was able to back up last weeks win with another this week.  So, what does that all mean?  It means, this is one damn close league.  Anyways, without further delay onto the review.<!--more-->

The tightest game of the round was decided by only a solitary point 93-92.  DOOBIA DOOBS(west) getting up over a valiant THE PACK(west), although Doobs kept Beanie Wells on the starting roster for the second week, despite him being injured. This game was decided in the last 2 minutes of the round with Brees final drive up the field securing the win.  It was mighty unlucky The Pack left Jahvid Best on the bench only for him to put up a massive 40 points, the best (pardon the pun) of the round.

Next up saw UNDER ACHIEVERS(w) face off against SAM CROW(w), and come up victorious by 2 whole points.  This was billed as the battle of the draft and UAs were helped along by Peterson putting 24 big ones and repaying some of the faith shown in him which saw him go at #2 in the draft.  On the Flip side, however it was Crow who was holding the #1 pick and did he put in a shocker, Johnson managing only 2.  If youre looking to trade him out and teach him a lesson, Im willing to talk, hehe.

Third game up had BOLDIN SHOWERS(w) come up short to a league-high scoring AUSSIE BATTLERS(e) 94-89.  I have to admit when I was watching Peyton Manning in Manning Bowl put on a clinic for his bro Eli I thought the Battlers had no chance.  Who would of thought ABs own QB, A. Rodgers would end up outscoring him and combined with LeSean McCoy putting up 30, post the best score in the league.  Thems the breaks I guess.

Now for one of the most disappointing days of the season.  Not only did the Pats suck hard but my boys MR WIGGLES(e) went down to Walesys TOO SERIOUSESES(e).  I thought for a moment that I...
Well done to Chris Judd picking up a massive 30 votes, where anything over 25 was probably unexpected to most of us.  Judd pretty much polled 3 in every game he was a chance to, and also picked up some handy minor votes as well.  Interestingly, Ablett polled in more games, and Swan polled in an equal amount of games to Judd (12).

Some things are for sure after last night - Dane Swan will never win a brownlow (kudos for those who were saying this throughout the year...).  He could not have a better year, and finished with 24 - well below the +30 tally I was predicting.

Ablett polled slightly better than expected, whereas the other favourite Hodge also was pretty unlucky finishing with just 16.

WHERE THINGS WENT RIGHT

Scott Thompson finished with his predicted 15 votes and comfortably the most for Adelaide.  Brown finished slightly ahead of Rischitelli as expected.  Judd was always going to win the Carlton vote, but to win by 21 - I dont think anybody could have predicted that.  Swan, although not polling as high as expected had a big enough buffer to hold off Pendlebury by 3 votes.  Watson won comfortably, and Ablett held off Selwood by the predicted 5 votes I had them separated by.  Hodge, like Judd, took home the most votes for Hawthorn, finishing just 1 ahead of Mitchell (thank f*** for the massive buffer there).  Sylvia tied with Davey, who was a suprise packet, yet Sylvias odds were strong enough to make it worthwhile even after splitting in two.  Travis Boak did excellently, finishing comfortably ahead of his main rivals, and paid good odds also.  Deledio, like Sylvia, had strong enough odds to make his tie with J Riewoldt worthwhile.  Goodes finished the predicted 3-4 ahead of Jack, and Boyd and Priddis both went on to win comfortably also - Boyd with very good odds considering.  13 from 16 aint bad...but,

WHAT WENT WRONG

Barlow not polling in that first game sure f***ed up a lot of peoples multis - he recovered to finish...
Hello again EPL fans,

What a weekend we had in the Premier League...Liverpool nearly split the points with Manure at Old Trafford after a brace from Stevie G, but a late strike from Berbatov completed his hat-trick and ensured the Red Devils came away with all 3 in this famous fixture, 3-2 the final score.

Chelsea pummelled minnows Blackpool 4-0 at Stamford Bridge with Malouda scoring a double and Drogba netting one and setting another one up after Kalou opened the scoring in the second minute. Tottenham put 3 past Wolves at White Hart Lane in the last 15 minutes courtesy of Van Der Vaart (who is looking pretty good IMO), Pavlyuchenko &amp; Hutton after Wolves went ahead right before the break with handy strike from Fletcher.

Man City cruised to 2 nil victory away to Wigan Athletic with strikes from Tevez and Yaya Toure moving them up the ladder. Newcastle travelled to Goodisen Park where Ben Arfa scored on debut with an absolute cracker to silence the Everton faithful, while Tim Cahill watched from the terraces after being omitted from the squad all together.

West Brom put 3 past Birmingham in the second half after going 1 down early in the Midlands derby, Fulham earnt a point at Ewood Park after a second half strike from Clint Dempsey levelled the scores after Samba put one past Mark Schwarzer in the first half. Bolton followed suit earning a point at Villa Park after being one down early on courtesy of a Ash Young strike and West Ham got there first point of the season after a strike from Scotty Parker (he is racking up a few of late isnt he...) was cancelled out by Kenwyn Jones just after the half time break.

Continued over the break...<!--more-->

So I think that is it for the week...have I missed anything? Oh, thats right...Arsenal travelled to the Stadium of Light and after a freak piece of luck from Fabregas, Sunderland managed to take a well earned point away against a 10 man Arsenal outfit with a strike deep into injury time from...
The clocks ticking down... weve got just over a week to go until our draft, and just over a month to go until the season starts!

With the draft fast approaching, those of us that may not be able to make it on the night, should probably sort out the Pre-Draft Player Rankings list, and maybe the Autopick Strategy. Both of these can be found in the Roster section of the My Team tab, in the grey box underneath your team name.

Also, it looks as though the draft pick trades are drying up. There have been a couple done so far and I know another is in the pipeline as it involves me - actually they have all involved me. Whats with that? I think trading is one of the funnest things about this game and it is one thing that really sets it apart from other fantasy games where everyone has all players to choose from. Most completed trades are win-win and its fun too!

Now for more info on the Pre-Draft Player Rankings list, the Autopick Strategy, and how to trade, have a look over the break:::<!--more-->

For a brief rundown on the Pre-Draft Player Rankings list, courtesy of ESPN, have a look here: <a title="draft list" href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/resources/help/faq?name=how-do-i-update-my-draft-list" target="_blank">http://games.espn.go.com/fba/resources/help/faq?name=how-do-i-update-my-draft-list.

And for more detailed info regarding the draft, again from ESPN, have a look here: <a title="draft" href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/resources/help/content?name=drafts-live-online" target="_blank">http://games.espn.go.com/fba/resources/help/content?name=drafts-live-online.

As well as the Pre-Draft list, your Autopick Strategy is very important, as it allows you to set criteria for each pick and also limits to how many players from each position you can choose. I should point out, it will only come into play if you are on Autopick mode during the draft, as you are either not in attendance or have selected Autopick during the draft, etc.

Here...
So, were down to two. Collingwood- who looked absolutely dominante this weekend vs the Sainters. Personally, I cant see the Magpies losing. They were just so bloody strong against *the* most dominantant team of the last 3 years. I cant believe how easy it looked- they just absolutely and systematically tore them to shreads. Couple that with the fact that the Saints looked so shaky for the first half of last week- and youve got the ingredients for a white wash.

That said though, as a non-collingwood supporter, I sure as hell wont be cheering for them to take out the prize- but Im at a bit of a standpoint. As much as I dont want the Pies to win a premiership, and how nice it would be for Saints fans everywhere to score one- the idea of Milne holding a premiership medal give me the creeps. Yes, its probably poor form, but hey, if theres no room for irrational dislikes in football, then where would there be room for them!

Anyways, just a quick update on tonight- Its still at the Lagerfield at Crown. Still starting at 7-7:30ish. And Ill still be sporting a ponytail. However, Ill also be sporting a mobile, so if anyone would like to get hold of the number, drop me an email- itll probably make life easier tonight. :)

And thats it. Not much more to say- I know I have a handful of folk that Ill be cheering on tonight- Hayes, Swallow, Barlow- along with many others. But most of all, Im hoping that all our bets pay off tonight! Cause damn, it would be nice. :D
Hi guys,

We kick off this week end shortly and with a few hours to before lockout, it is critical to check the injury tables, game previews and best buys in the VS competition.

The news is that Valencia, Zamora and McFadden (injured his knee in training this week) are out for about 5 months, Defoe is out for 3 or so months, Kuyt is out for another month, Bosingwa, Diaby, Vermaelen and Carrick are out for another 2 weeks. Carroll, Lampard, Van Der Vaart and Modic are very doubtful.

Alright, so its been decided. Were going to crown.

More specifically though (cause Crown is a big place), were going to the Lagerfield- at crown.

I think the count starts at what- 8ish, and Ill be looking to get there around 7-7:30ish.

Now, I hear that theyll be showing the count- but there probably wont be sound. But Im sure we can live without that.

If I remember, Ill try to wear something- distinctive- otherwise youll just have to look for the guy that is bringing the 90s back- and sporting a killer Steven Seagal pony tail. PRESURE POINT!!

So yeah, Lagerfield @ crown @ 7-8ish.

And if you need more specific details on where in Crown Lagerfield is- youll just have to check the comments cause someone will let me know. ;)
