Round 18 for the iScent comp has a fair few less participants than usual, sorry about the downtime that we had this weekend, sadly it couldnt be helped. Hopefully it wont happen again and at worst, the site is running much faster now- so thats a plus!

Anyways, this week we had an easy win for Matty.Hutch, and from what I can tell, it all come down to not selecting Luke Hodge. Great win mate, theres an email crossing the interwebs as we speak.

Onto the winning squad for this week:

So were into the business end of the year and its been an absolute cracker of a home and away season topped off with a belter of a penultimate round.

The Pine Warmers shaped up some sweet games this round and a few interesting outcomes resulting in a plumet or 2 in the ladder standings, meaning that some big teams missed out on finals.

The league moved up this week into 16th overall (13 points off 15th so dont give up those not playing finals) and is still averaging 2200 per round. No real thrillers but Prospectus Boy and Liquid both moved up 3 places to sneak into the 8, while Life Post Richo (chris88) and Year Of The Cats (chris 88s other half) both dropped key games and dropped out of the 8...unlucky mate.

The Orange Boys on the other hand did not have such a dramatic end to the season and the top 8 did not change since last round. Ranked 169 overall and averaging 2140; a fantastic effort and 2 thrillers this round with Banana Slugs losing in a tight one to The Mob Goes Wild by 8 points, and Half Time Heroes getting over WesternRoys by 29 points and costing them a finals berth.

Well done to all who made finals, and bad luck to those that didnt but please keep putting your best teams out so we can maximise our ladder positions.

Sorry guys, but I have a lot on so the review is short one this week, but full results are over the break and next week will much better.

Hi guys,

With only 10 days to go, players are probably looking to get some feedback on there starting teams for 2010 (I know I am!!! :D). Now with so many comps floating out around there, and different scoring systems relating to those comps, it is important to specify which comp your team relates to - either VS or FPL - in order to get the best feedback for you team!

Ill start it off...with willys FPL team!!!

GK – Sorensen (SC) Soderberg (NEWC U)
DEF – Givet (BR) Foley (WW) Shawcross (SC) Carr (BIR C) Bramble (SUN)
MIDS – Ferguson (BIR C) Barton (NEWC U) Jarvis (WW) Lampard (CHE) Fabregas (ARS)
FWD – Tevez (MAN C) Rodellega (WIG) Rooney (MAN U)

A quick edit from Walesy, just to bring attention to the following-

In the interest of a little cross site fun, the guys over at FanFooty.co.uk (no link to fanfooty.com.au), are running a little competition revolving around the FPL competition.

Basically its teams of 4 make up a squad- and squads then play against each other.

From what I can tell, little to no extra participation is required, but itll be good to build a little cross site... thingamajig.

So if youd like to sign up, head over here and let us know youre interested- we can work out teams once we figure out how many are interested. :)

Dane Swan continues to power away in the 2010 Brownlow medal count, polling in a record 8 straight games. Has anyone ever put together 2 months of brilliant, consistent football? The stats dont lie: over the last 8 weeks (in which the Pies are undefeated), Swan has averaged 36 possessions, 134 DreamTeam points, 146 SuperCoach points and an amazing 8 coaches votes...Im calling it early: Swan will win this years Brownlow Medal.

Other news out of this weeks games: Fletcher and Stanton are keeping things interesting at Essendon, with Watson unlucky not to poll. Ablett and Selwood are looking most likely to sit third on the podium, both putting in another strong performance. Abletts 2 puts him at outright third on 18, with Selwood now on 17. Colin Sylvia has put in a very impressive month of football, polling 8 votes in the last 4 weeks, and now leads the Melbourne count. Michael Rischitellis 2 in this game also sees him leapfrog Brennan and Brown at Brisbane - should be some good odds here (although none of his 7 votes are guaranteed...).

Richmond is an interesting one, Shane Tuck put in his second guaranteed three for the year, and yet I still have him 3 off the pace from Deledio. Deledio has been ultra-consistent in a lot of Richmonds wins, without really starring, whilst Riewoldt is sure to poll as well. As of round 18, I see Deledio 6-11, Tuck 7-8, and Riewoldt 5-8. Hopefully will get some clarity over the last few rounds with which way this onell go.

Matthew Boyd is another thats had a fantastic month, polling in each of the last 4 games (9 votes), and moves to outright lead at the Doggies on 15. Should be decent odds on Matty, with Cooney the favourite.

Last game of the round saw Sandilands pick up the medal for best player on the ground - however I, along with Champion Data seem to disagree...58 SuperCoach points when youve got a bloke thats kicked 6....give us a break!

All of this weeks votes over the page:...
So, its been a long weekend for me, if I see one more SQL error, Im gunna tear out my hair! but, weve gotten through the worst of it- it should be smooth sailing from here on in. Heck, should even be faster than before as well, which is a nice little perk.

Anyways, the season is done, its all finals now baby- so its time to trade hard if youve got em, to stay competitive. Well yanno, provided your opposition isnt carrying their own problems.

But thats next weeks problem, so lets look back at this week-

It all started on Friday, with the Bombers continuing on the great Essendon rollercoaster, this time dominating the highly rated Saints by 5 goals. Although dominated, it was Goddard who top scored with a 133. Perenial whipping boy, Bachar Houli top scored for the Bombers with a 127 in his 4th game for the year. Fletcher came in 3rd with a solid 122. It should be noted the Stanton scored a nice 117 playing off the half back line, which could be a lucritive option at a discount price. Gram looks to be offering a great deal in the backline, scoring 110 and costing just a little over $300k. Riewoldt looks to have bottomed out at $440k, an with a couple of tons under his belt looks a perfect upgrade in the forwards. Hille made his long awaited return and a score of 83 looks good for those suckers- I mean coaches- who have held him through his "3 week" injury. On the low side, S. Fisher put in a shocker with 32 points, while Gumbleton scored just 33 points and looks to have picked up a season ender.

Game two for the round saw the Pies smash through the Blues, with Swan doing what Swan does and scoring a 152- falling just a few dollars short of the magical $700k mark. Pendlebury came next with a 139 while Didak put up a 136, and is in great form moving into the finals. Ball looks to have hit his straps with a 134, hes now been averaging 104 points over the past 7 weeks- not too shabby! Griggs top scored for the Blues with a 113, knocking up his second ton...
Better than ever!

Stronger, Agiler, more dynamic than ever!

Sorry so much about the downtime, but well be better off for it.

So, basically everything should be up and running again, stats, blogs, live scores- everything.

But if things dont work, let me know- ASAP. :)
So, weve got the blog up and running- which is good. :D Now to get the rest of the site back up and running.

Also, carn the Bombers!!

Finally, we had to go back a day to restore the database, so we lost some of the stuff that happened on Friday. I have the iScent and tips that were entered though, so Ill transfer all that here.

Sheesh, its been a long 14 hours! Heres hoping we finish up soon. :)
Please keep this to trade talk. If you dont I will go back through the list whenever I log on and delete your post.

Let the debate on trades specifically related to fantasy football follow:
First of all, I just want to remind everyone- until I get the login situation worked out over the offseason, were still stuck on the honour system. So impersonating users is still very *not* on - and in the case of last night, has resulted in a one week ban.

Now, the question was brought up on Ben- Theres an underlying feeling in these part that Ben, with his brash style - and constant off topic-ing, is lowering the level of discussion in these part. My personal thoughts on the topic are that I enjoy both forms of discussion- the serious, the too serious and the my-team-is-better-than-your-team.

However, the problem lies in the lack of structure in these parts. Now, I know that once I get the new forum system up, which will go up with the logins, then well be able to segment discussions off nicely and pretty much knock this issue on the head.

So until then, Ben mate, Ive got to ask you to turn the dial down for the next few weeks. General discussion is a good thing, but not at the expense of upsetting the many good folk in these parts. I know that next year well have the structures in place to deal with it better- but until then, I beg restraint- at least until the season ends.

And if you could send me an email so that we can discuss the issue, that would be great.
Alright, one more week til the finals and personally I hope your sitting in better positions that I am... Though let it be known, Im gunna smash these other also runs... :p

Lets check out the major ins and outs for the round

INS: Hille, Trengove, Davis
OUTS: Lockyer, Pods, Bartel, Maguire, Johncock, Hams
Extended: Davis, Sheppard

Two things are standing out to me- A number of people are going to struggle to field a full back line with Maguire, Johncock and Hams going out, particularly if Davis and Sheppard dont get a call up and; Geelong look like they are kicking off their rest period with Pods and Bartel taking a spell- so keep an eye on those cats!
