For those who take it way too seriously

So, the little tacker has finally arrived. But boy, he didnt want to give up without a fight! Jo was in full blown active labour for a full 24 hours before he finally threw in the towel.

Needless to say, she put in an epic performance without going the epidural.

End result though, is a beautiful healthy young lad who goes by the name of Elijah Henry.

Or as we call him, Eli, weighing in at a respectable 4.07k with all ten fingers and toes.

Both Jo and baby are doing well.

Anyways, regular commenter Anthak has put in a great performance of his own, coming to the fore and knocking out a great post for this weeks review. Its a big-in, so its over the break!- Anyways, time to get some sleep, stats are updating.

As Walesy is obviously preoccupied, still celebrating Spain’s World Cup win of course, I
have decided to give a ‘round review’ a go. I’ll get straight into it:

First game of the round on Friday night saw Port Adelaide take on Collingwood on the same
day that their coach quit/was sacked. Must have been an emotional day for the Port players
and the game played out that way too. First of all, Choco’s mate Josh Carr (80 SuperCoach points)
was called up late to replace one of the newest Port players in Jay Schultz - I’m thinking
this could have been Carr’s last game also. The Power got off to a great start and led by 38
points early in the 2nd term, but the emotion of the day was always going to catch up with
them and the Pies quickly got themselves back into the game and ran away with it in the
end, winning by 26 points. David Rodan top scored for the game with 146, followed by (a
once again untagged against Port) Dane Swan with a 39 possession 127 and Pendlebury
was close behind on 125. Jolly scored a ton for the third week in a row and Blair impressed
again with a 104 and may interest some looking for a downgrade target in the midfield.
Lowest score went to John Anthony with 29 who is having a...
Given theres no formal review, or no updated stats, I think its safe to say that Walesy may be tied up with family matters (or sleeping off a big World Cup party).

Lets hope everythings gone smoothly for you and Jo mate!

On the reviews, if anyone wants to add their thoughts on the games, give your 2c in the comments section. Or you can wait until our "Brownlow" votes are tallied, and Swan can go further into the lead booya!
So, here we go- round 15. Should be a couple of good games this round- Geelong v Hawthorn is always a beauty - especially big because the Hawks are on fire! Should be a cracker!

On a non-football related topic though, I just found out today that <a href="http://www.abc.net.au/tv/review/">Review, with Miles Barlow is coming back with a second season- Love that show!
So, the U18 championships have come and gone, and sadly, unlike last year, Ive been too busy to give my take on it all, heck even this post has taken way longer than it should have to write!. So instead of the missed weekly updates that I was planning on posting, Im just going to post a couple of thoughts, with the idea of opening a dialog with you guys out there. cause damn, as a collective, were a pretty clever mob. :)

First off, Im going to post up the All Australia squad, while not neccessarily the best way of picking fantasy potential, its not a bad place to start.

Defenders: Ben Jacobs (VM), Matt Watson(VM), Dyson Heppell (VC), Shaun Atley (VC), Patrick McCarthy (SA), Brodie Smith (SA)
Midfield: Jared Polec (SA), Daniel Gorringe (SA), Andrew Gaff (VM), Mitch Hallahan (VC), Anthony Miles (NSW/ACT), Tom Liberatore (VM)
Forwards: Harley Bennell (WA), Lucas Cook (VC), Adam Treloar (VC), Jayden Pitt (VC), Steven May (NT), Josh Caddy (VM)
Interchange: Sam Day (SA), Josh Bruce (NSW/ACT), Josh Green (Tas), Sam Darley (TAS)

Next, I want to bring to attention this article on the AFL website- <a href="http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/97612/default.aspx">2010 NAB AFL Draft: 25 to watch - which offers up a brief spiel on the whos who, and offers up a good number of names to keep an eye on.

What Im really looking forward to though is the follow up to <a href="http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/96019/default.aspx">this article - which lists the top 10 SuperCoach averages over the first 2 games.

Now, one thought that has been going around my head these past few weeks is on the GCs picks. 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15. If they had these picks this year, they would have picked up- Scully, Trengove, Martin, Cunnington, Sheppard, Moore, Gysberts, Talia and Howard. A great list, yes- but consider the implications. Firstly, they will be signing ready made players. Secondly,...
No time for a real post right now, but the teams are over the break!

Welcome to TS Best Buys once again.  This week all the talk is about Barlow...which makes us all aware of how fragile the number of trades we do have could end up in the next few matches.  There will be a bit of a discussion on the best people you can bring in to replace him.  Though not cut and dried, I think its down to 6.

Advice for the week:  Quite a few people have run the marathon and hit the wall with 1-3 trades left at this stage, and find themselves really heaving near the end.  Others have been way back but are craftily getting into positions 5-8 in leagues and are ready for an assault on the flag.  All I can say is watch out those in leagues who are confident with 10-1 records.  Your great run could be about to come crashing down if you havent planned ahead.

FRESH MEAT
This week was actually a good one for fresh meat, as Collingwood unearthed Jarryd Blair a very short but highly regarded rookie.  Strijk from the Eagles put another game under the belt and played a very good match, and Henderson/Watts are still within range (i.e. under 200k) for those who want good forward options come finals time.  Even spud of all spuds Tommy Bellchambers got a run, though likely not too many more before delisting at the end of the year (him or Laycock or both...?)
Id think you might have only one more downgrade in you, maybe two in your teams, so heres the best of the <200k players for each position:
DEF: Strijk.  This week is the time.  Id honestly steer clear of the rest.
MID: Banner over Blair who has security issues.
FWD: Henderson (MPP) or Watts if you have the coin give good peace of mind.  Otherwise OBrien.
RUC: None.  Maybe at a pinch you could go Roughead and hope for an injury.

CATCH THE TRAIN
Eddie Betts, Kurt Tippett and Darren Jolly.  They have all had some average runs, but are now striking form.  If youve held them you have done well.  If not you can rely on these guys running into even better consistent...
I would like to start this weeks review by mentioning Michael Barlows horrific double broken leg and the fact my, and I am sure all the TS followers, best wishes go out to him, his family &amp; friends, and his team mates. We wish him a speedy and smooth recovery, and look forward to seeing him back in the game sooner rather than later. He has provided us all with a inspiring and phenomenal story this season, and has truly impressed with his silky skills, cool head under pressure, maturity on the ball, football brain/vision, and general toughness at the contest.

Also, I would like to send a shout out to Jo, Walesy, and soon to be little Walesy. Congrats and I wish you all the happiness in the world. Lets pray for his sake he does not stray to the dark side of the force, and remains loyal to the Windy Hill cause. It would be nothing short of a tragedy to have another blue bagger running a muck around the J &amp; W household. It would also leave the great man outnumbered 3 to 2...a travesty of justice!!!

Now, what a weekend of football!!! Argentina were flogged by the Krauts, the Dutch did a number on Brasil, and the Hawks have won 7 on the trot

That being said, these next 3 weeks will be crucial for the mighty Hawks with the all conquering Cats at the G, the lacklustre Lions in Tassie (danger game) and the scintillating Saints at Jihad to come over the next 3 weeks. If the Hawks can win 2 of these, they are in the box seat to have a strong run in the finals.

But enough of the Hawks, how about those Tigers? Are they the tigers of old? 3 in a row and 4 out of there last 5 suggests they have re-opened for business, and the fact they are nurturing some exciting talent should warn teams that if you underestimate them, you do so at your own peril.

And next week is shaping up to be a beauty in the AFL where by 6 of the top 9 are playing off with 1st playing 7th, 5th playing 6th, and 8th playing 9th.

Anyways, on with the league review and what a...
And now for something completely different.........nope - more of the same.  7 of the now top 10 picked up votes over the weekend, and none more significant than those of our two leaders, who now have opened a considerable gap of 6 votes between them and the rest.  It may now be a race of just two...

Thursday night got us underway, with Eddie Betts and Chris Judd the best two players on the ground.  Scotland, Simpson and Leuenberger in a losing side will fight out for the one.

Demetriou: "Hawthorn versus the Western Bulldogs, Hawthorn S. Mitchell, 1 vote, Western Bulldogs B. Lake, 2 votes, Hawthorn..............L...........Hodge, 3 votes".  Hodge the first player to enter the 20s with his 6th BOG for the year.

Big Sandi has wasted no time in closing the deficit between he and Barlow, picking up 3 votes on Saturday and needing the same again to draw level.  Barlows perpetrator in Palmer, along with perennial pest Crowley will round out the votes here.

Demetriou: "Collingwood versus West Coast, Collingwood D.................Beams, 1 vote, Collingwood D.........................Jolly, 2 votes, Collingwood .......................D. Swan. 3 votes".  Ahhh, Demetriou at his best - dont you love it!  Swan joining Hodge in the 20s, and everyone else in the room apart from Hodgey just realised they wont be taking home the medal tonight.

Adelaide continue their winning ways, with Scott Thompson and Kurt Tippett clearly the best two players on the ground.  Thompson joins Goodwin and Johncock on 6 votes.

Over at the Cattery, a midfielder and a key forward were also clearly the best 2 players on the ground.  Enright marginally ahead of Ablett for the 1 here, leaving Ablett stranded on 14 votes and now 8 off the pace.

Richmond also continued their winning ways, with the same old suspects in Deledio, Newman and Riewoldt getting them over the line.  Jude Bolton was probably slightly better than all three, and should poll.

The final game of the...

Man, this early lockout business has thrown me off my game!

Ill post the full teams below shortly, but just wanted to remind everyone to get their tips and iScent picks in tonight! Youve got a 90 minutes!!

INS: Murphy, Black, Higgins, Chapman, Kelly, TDL, Gram
OUTS: Kreuzer, Waite, Lucas, Silvagni, Hurn, Stevens, Jetta, Rohan

And the all important extended benches- because we just wont find these out!

Extended bench: Corey, Farmer, Webberly, TDL, Playfair, Scully.

Pretty big news that TDL has been called up! A potential downgrade to free up cash in the forwardline is a welcome relief. And his 7 goal haul doesnt hurt either...
