For those who take it way too seriously
Hey guys, were finally officially moving up to our shiny new servers.
I have no idea what its going to happen, but fingers are crossed that minimal fuss is caused.
I believe the DNS thingy takes 24 hours to propagate, so things might get a little funky in these parts for the next 24 hours... who knows though!

MEOW all,
I would like to welcome all you cats out there to another installment of the leagues review, because I know you have all been dying to get stuck into your opponents, and to know how we are faring. What a week for scoring, it looked like we were going to see some massive scores this weekend with the likes of Joey and the Jpod tearing it up, and I am sure there were some of us who were eyeing 2500+ Sunday morning, but surprisingly most of the big names did not take off in the Freo, Carlton or Hawks games.
Now before we get into the TS leagues, I would like to take this opportunity to quickly mention that the Hawks are flying up the ladder after a nail biting finish against the Bloods on Sunday and could easily be in the 8 at the conclusion of next round...the Premiers of 2008 look to be back in the mix and could be making a charge at being a serious contender.
Anyways, continued over the break...
<!--more-->
The big news of the week was in the Orange Boys league (currently sitting 183) with The Duds registering their first win and setting a whopping round high 2394...well done...but is it too late for a charge up the ladder?
The Pine Warmers continue to impress holding 19th spot overall - a fantastic effort in a very tough league. Moving into this week, there was one game separating 1st and 12th, and last place had scored more points than anyone else in the league overall since league round 1, and finally got a win this week with a strong 2356 knocking off top place. Whoknows? won in a nail biter over Prospectus Boy and my boys, the Krunchy Nuts, took the chocolates over the Thunder Guns.

Round 10 has come and gone, and in its wake is a number of games where the votes should be very clear cut.
Friday night saw the first of many upsets, with a few lesser-lights from the Bombers really evening their tally up. Anyone of Jetta, Winderlich or Stanton may get the three, where the dogs slim chance of picking up a vote rest with their inform ruckmen Ben Hudson.
Geelongs systematic demolition of Melbourne should bring another 3 votes to Joel Selwood - whilst GAJ and the j-Pod are a flip of the coin for the minor votes. Selwood is making a steady rise up the leaderboard, and those that jumped on him a few weeks ago at mid $60 odds would be rubbing their hands together.
Richmonds first win of the year will bring about its first three - and an unexpected Shane Tuck will collect that here. His display was so emphatic that Im nominating him for the three of the week - although Montagna and Gibbs should be pretty safe too...
Dal Santo should be safe for two votes in the St Kilda game - it always seems that he and Montagna seem to play well together, whereas when Hayes is on he often does it alone. Dal Santo has ingrained himself in the middle of the chasing pack, and is one of the most in-form players in the comp after polling in each of the last 3 weeks.
Luke Powers three is relatively safe too, with Dale Thomas and Daniel Rich the biggest threat. Regular vote-getters Black and Brown werent far off the mark either.
Two Swans players should pick up votes in their narrow loss to Hawthorn. Hannebery picked up his second BOG for the year, and is really shaping up as a decent smokie for the Rising Star award. Lewis was the Hawks best, whilst Mummy should out-poll Mitchell, Rioli and Franklin.
Murphys two should be pretty safe behind Gibbs massive three, whilst anyone of Walker, Judd, Scotland and Gartlett will fight it out for the one.
Whilst the race for Freos leading votegetter has always seemed a race between three, David...

Gah! There used to be a post here that detailed exactly why this was a round of upsets. It was full of wit- really, a masterpiece would be under rating it a little I reckon... however, it seems that due to a cat related computer issue, I have lost this weeks review, but yanno- every cloud has a silver lining, and so if anyone wants to have a crack a being read by thousands and thousands, email me through a review of this round, and Ill throw in your guest post.
And Ben, no, "Collingwood are crap" will not qualify.
Alright, we have a guest post- thank you very much Johnny.
Well they say things come in threes and that was the case this round in terms of upsets. Friday night was the first where Essendon got up over the Dogs. The Dons seemed in charge for most of the match and their aggressive attacking style seemed to work. It looked like it could have been a blowout in the 3rd quarter, yet the Dogs rallied late and made a charge with a 6 goal to 3 last quarter eventually going down by 9 points. Ryder (119) produced the goods with 2 goals and 8 tackles. Stanton (119) provided alot of drive up back while the old stager Flecher (105) was very effective and is heading into Michael Tuck territory. Gumbleton was disappointing with 53. The best of the Dogs were Hudson 131, Hall 119 and Lake 118. Aker had a shocker with 45 and may face the axe in some SuperCoach teams and his real one !
Now down to the Cattery, you know that impregnable fortress down the highway Happy to say there was no upset here. The Cats did what was expected and easily accounted for the Demons to the tune of 54 points. In overcast and windy conditions it was a scrappy game at times. There was also just enough rain to curb effective ball use at some stages. It really was a case of the usual suspects for the Cats. For 3rd game in a row at Skilled Staduim Jpod 144 kicked 5 goals. Ablett 137 and Selwood 134 took care of a midfield which was missing their No. 1 & 2 recruits Scully...

Just letting you guys know, it seems our hosts are been having issues all day. Fingers are crossed that they get it sorted soon enough!
Really I should have opened this post up before the game... now all Iv got going through my head is-
GO YOU BOMBER GOOD THINGS YEEEAAAHHHHHH!!!
Anyways, the odds on all the games this weekend are very short, but weve had one upset.
Hall and Lake did great, while Stanton has had a welcome back to form.
Im out- Go you good things!!

Wow, is it Thursday already? And round 10?
When did that happen? nearly half was through the season!
So, the big outs this week are Scully and Trengove. Both look like they are getting rested after a tough game up at the North end. Kennelly and Bradshaw were expected but Davis getting a run in the two will be good for him.
With Edwards going out, it means Armstrong will get to his first price rise, while Petrie is back, along with his MPP droolfest that he brings. Gysberts and TDL look like they have some good potential as some final downgrades.
INS: Higgins, Gysberts, Armstrong, TDL, White, Petrie
OUTS: Melksham, Scully, Trengove, Davis, Edwards, Kennelly, Bradshaw, Silvagni, Wells
Extended bench: Peterson, TDL, Naitanui
Anyways, you guys know the drill, teams will be over the break

So Im just gunna put this question out there:
If there was a hypothetical new SC-type game created, what features would you like to see?
Would you change scoring? trading? run with a different salary model? Perhaps change the structure and benches?
Personally, Ive got a number of different ideas that I would like to see, but Im wondering what you guys would like?

Good afternoon all. Time for another instalment of Best Buys.
Advice for the week:
This week I think its pertinent to think of the run home for teams. When you get players in from here you need to consider that you will hold them until the end of the year. Because we are getting towards mid point of the year, you need to know whether teams are going to be better on the run home due to a better draw. The flawed AFL fixture means that some teams should have the potential to generate late momentum (Saints, Pies) where others have landmines in their way. Interestingly Geelong has a fairly difficult run in SuperCoach finals.
So - take into account "the next few rounds" in getting a few players in for cheap particularly if they have an OK run home. But as most of us here are going to be trying to win our leagues, the key rounds to note are 19-22. I find particularly 19 to set you up (20 the fall back if double chance), 21 is a must as is 22. Loading up on the wrong teams and player combinations (e.g. Carlton has bogey team Essendon in 19, Richmond in what could be a useless 20, then Geelong in 21 and Freo away in 22) could prove costly. Be warned and plan ahead.
Now on to the regular items:<!--more-->
FRESH MEAT
This week much of the talk is about Jack Watts, the #1 pick thats done Jack All so far, but has strung two together for the Demons. Whether to trade down a cow and enjoy watching Watts in action is a big decision. I think you have to think about what youd be getting him in for if you do. For a reliable F8, well Gumbleton is already handling this thanks very much. For a F7 (well you are stuffed) or to get some cash for an upgrade it MAY be worth looking into, but I guess I would be loath to suggest Watts is the next Podsiadly SC-wise.  Maybe the next Fyfe for a few more $. I personally am not convinced on his job security, but hey, I thought the same of Pods (blush..)
Another to get a run has been Henry...
