TooSerious

For those who take it way too seriously

Its that time of the year when everyone starts using 2 trades a week, doing some downgarding of rookies and upgrading of mid-priced players. Youll find out in my renamed and revamped Dogs Best Buys this week who to upgrade too, but you also gotta look out for some good downgrades. Thats where Im going to help.

DOWNGRADING BACKS.

There are hardly any rookies in the Backline and the likes of Proud and
Taylor are yet to peak. The only real peaked back is Nathan Brown from
Colllingwood, so it might be the week to trade him down. Also, that
Nicoski if still in your side must go. But to who? Its a shame that much that has peaked cause there is some good Fresh Meat (less than
2 games) in the Backline including David Myers (-84) and Jay Neagle
(-29) from Essendon. They are both likely to play a couple more games
but the only downside is they are abit more expensive than your average
rookie at 120k and 135k. But if your really depesrate for coin you
could go for the likes of Scott Selwood (-68) and Matthew Spangher
(-41) both from West Coast that might play that 3rd game some time this
season. So, if they are ever named jump on them.
DOWNGRADING MIDS

Bird
, Houli Douli and Trav Tuck are all ready for downgrades. And, I
got two words for ya: Trent Cotchin. I cant see him getting dropped
all season now he is in the team. But again like the Don boys he is
alittle more expensive than the average rookie at 140k. But, you have
that extra week for him if you want to get some more coin out of Wona,
Ibbo and Palmer. Also, I have read some people are downgrading Nick
Stevens
and playing Palmer which I reckon is a excellent idea. So, if
youve got Rhys on ya bench you might do something simliar. If you
dont like Cotchin there is also Myers in the middle and a bloke named
Sharrod Wellingham (-83) from...
<p class="MsoNormal">[span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">Similar to
what I tried over at <a href="http://dreamteamtalk.com/2008/05/04/braydogs-supercoach-round-review-rd-7/#comments">DT Talk, I will be doing a bit of Round Review. Going
through the Superstars of SuperCoach, players above par, and those in a la-la.
And, couple of other facts of interest from the weekend’s games. Then you guys
can have a crack at reviewing your team...<o:p></o:p>

form, Hayes (121) and Ball (126) also done it in the middle
for the saints. While on the Collingwood side their midfielders done just
aswell Pendlebury (123) and Swan (118). It must be a midfielders
weekend with Bateman (131), Sewell (123) and Lewis (114) scoring well for the Hawks. Finally a forward with Buddy (131), only one Port cracked the 100 mark with S. Burgoyne (129). Don’t worry about Gablett (164)&nbsp;he is fine. Chappy (132) is back and well Bartel (103) always scores. Richo (112) is the only big dollar
scorer for the Tigers. Juddy (105)
don’t surprise, while Scotland (121)
is a much underrated Fantasy player averages about 100. Power (128) does it for Lions. Cox
(145) and Simpson (109) are the
stand outs in the triller on the Gold Coast. Goodwin (125) and Stiffy[span...
So, the scores are up, and if youre like me, you go straight to the Eliminator.

Are you still in? After a 2048 last week, I was sure that my 1698 would see me eliminated this week.

Luckily, I drew a 1650 from the opposition and am through to the next round.

How many of you guys are still in?
This has been one of the best weekends injury wise all year but the ones the few that there were are backmen. Which is no real surprise this season. Brent Guerra done his hammy in Q2 and would guess he will miss 3 weeks. Alan Obst, the debutant for the Roos is was out for the game with a Hip injury. Not sure how bad it is, but I wouldnt worry to much cause he would have just been dropped next week. Cause Dean Laidley is a poof only play rookies for a couple of games to tease us. Haha. Tadgh Kennely is the big one from the weekend with a dislocated knee, and the last time he had this injury he missed 9 weeks - it was the other knee that time. But he looked in a huge amount of pain and actually vomitted when he came off the ground. Sam Mitchell got streched off, but came back on and will be fine. Jared Brennan has a quad injury but not to sure how bad it is cause he did come back on when it looked like he was gone for the game. Stay tuned for more information as it comes to hand.
Trent Cotchin played his first game. And scored a very nice 66 (74 SC).

I think a lot of people will be looking to downgrade into him over the next few weeks... I know that I will be.

Bowden back for his first game in a while would have 6,328 coaches smiling... sort-of, knocking up a so-so 71... but hey, its better than the 0s of late.

Other standouts from the game have been the usually good Richo (101), Kane Johnson (106) and the always impressive Gary Ablett (138)
Let us know how your team is going throughout the round. Who else got no sleep last night after seeing Mr I-Average-114 and then score a 45. So, much for being a Shaw thing. Or are you on the other side of the scale and celebrating Nicky Dals 145?

SATURDAY UPDATE: Big forward again dominating agaisnt Port Adeliade in Buddy with 131. Ill get some stats on that during the week. Everyones favourite rookie in Rioli struggled early but got an OK score in the end. Might be the week to downgrade? And, what about ABLETT? Also Chappy hitting some form. Stayed tuned for When to Buy this week. Richos form continues. But, the most popular 2nd Ruck struggled in the wet in Simmonds. My man Kade scoring 100+ again. Brownie back to some form, while everyones new Browne struggles. While the big boys star at up the Gold Coast - Hale and Cox both score big 100s.

Release any frustrations or celebrations here.
Some massive outs this week include the likes of Rooey, Goose, Fraser, Hodge, Watson (all injuried) and 3 cash cows in SD Thompson, Proudie and Jacky have all been dropped. Doesnt help those with the back problems. But, some massive ins including Steven King, Bowden (maybe), Ablett, Black, Brown, McVeigh and the unbelievable Malceski. But, anyone that has Mattner and is worrying about Ceskis return, I cant see him going back to his running back role yet and he wont get much TOG. Also, some exciting new kids have been named in Obst (North), Davis (West Coast) and Valenti (Melbourne)

I can see you asking, what exactly has happened to TooSerious? Its still here, infact, there are still the familiar login buttons at the top of the screen there.

So why the change? Basically, we here at TooSerious feel that while providing the raw data itself is a great benefit to you, providing an analysis of some of the results, or strategies moving forward can also benefit. We want to be able to enter an open dialog with you, the loyal customer and provide a more complete service.

So have a look around, read through the Supercoach and Dreamteam blogs (cause while similar, they are different games), poke your head into the TooSerious blog to read and updates, and above all, enjoy.

And as always, if you have any issues, let me know.

Cheers,
Walesy.

Calling all Dreamteamers. Here at TooSerious, we want to bring you not only the raw data, but also an educated analysis of it.

Currently, we have BrayDog holding down the SuperCoach fort, and myself holding down the Dreamteam one. However, the more time I spend here, the less time I have to impliment additional changes to TooSerious.

Because of that, Im putting out the call to all you experts - We need you - at TooSerious.

So if youre interested in joining in the fun that is the future of TooSerious, drop me an email, or send me a PM on the forum. We dont pay well, but all writers do get put on the Donor list. :D

Cheers,

<p class="MsoNormal">Welcome to this week’s When to Buy, if you haven’t been following it <a href="http://forums.dreamteamtalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&amp;t=689">here. I basically go through who to snag this week, who to wait for a couple of weeks for, so you can plan ahead.

<p class="MsoNormal">Told everyone to jump on Rooey the last couple of weeks, but Im sorry I can’t actually predict injuries and he has only been my real big stuff up. Since I said to jump on Nicky Dal he has average 99, and Stevie has been averaging a reasonable 90 ever since I said he was buyable. But my real beauty has been Kade Simpson who was only getting 77 points before I said jump on the Kade train he has got scores of 110 and 121. Watson has been similar averaging 78, and now since I said get him he has got an average of 102. And, here we go for this week...

<p class="MsoNormal">[span style="font-size: 16pt;">BEST BUYS
Heater Shaw

Started: 570k. Now: 530. BE: 67.
Ok, I know he isn’t really that cheap, but he isn’t going to get any cheaper, cause this will be the last week that 28 affects his rolling average. If you have got those back problems, or still got that hopeless Nicoski then its time to get on Heater. Downgrade a peaked out rookie and Bobs ya Uncle. He is averaging 114 this season and is a must have in 2008.

<p class="MsoNormal">

<p class="MsoNormal">BJ Johnson
Started: 566k. Now: 386k. BE: 36.
I reckon Shaw should be everyone’s pick up this week, but if you already have him BJ is your man. He is one of the legends of SuperCoach and his niggling injuries are nearly gone. Plus, you can nearly do a direct trade with that useless Nath Thompson (300k). But, if you got injuries, have any doubts over his injuries (or like me and getting Shaw) don’t panic he will be still cheap next week at about 400k.

<p class="MsoNormal">

<p class="MsoNormal">Matt Pavlich...
