For those who take it way too seriously
While the Adelaide Crows won't forget Patrick Dangerfield, they have proven they can cope without him. Having been awarded the Malcolm Blight Medal as the club's best and fairest, the midfielder took the decision to end his eight-year stay in Adelaide. He agreed a deal with the Geelong Cats that didn't come as a massive surprise after such a long-winded saga. The loss of their best player had convinced some that the Crows wouldn't be able to repeat their success of last year, when they made the finals after a two-year absence. With the new season under way, though, Adelaide have shown they are more than capable of making the top eight without the presence of Dangerfield.
Adelaide knew for a long time that 2015 was probably going to be the midfielder's last season with the Crows and that gave them time to plan for life without the three-time All Australian. Under the guidance of new head coach Don Pyke, Adelaide have more than just survived without their player of last season. They have started the new campaign in very encouraging fashion. Currently eighth in the ladder with three wins and two defeats, the Crows have looked solid, especially in a midfield that had been tipped to struggle without Dangerfield.

Ablett week 1, Docherty week2 – neither has quite lived up to the expectations of a Best Buy, maybe there is a bit of a curse going on here...
A lot of people will be hurting with the loss of Fyfe, so of course that’s what we will focus on this week.
(And yes, anyone who brought Rance in for JJ will be feeling a little bit sore too – but I don’t want to pick another defender)

This week was the week we remembered the fallen in ORFFA, and some players took that far too literally, with some very ordinary individual scores. However some other players took the ANZAC spirit to heart, and played with courage, valour and integrity truly befitting the occasion. A crowd of 7263 saw the Nuffers and the Spelunkers slug out a game for the ages, and coach Tracey finally popped a champagne cork with her first win of the season.
Gundagai Grasshoppers 1165 defeated the Marble Bar Misfits 998
Gundagai return to winning form taking care of a depleted Marble Bar outfit. Neale, Cripps, Adams and Rockliff combined for a very impressive 422 for the Hoppers in the guts, with Curnow, Mills and ‘The Package’ Stringer providing plenty of assistance. Grundy sucked in the ruck, but Phillips equally sucked for the misfits, tying Grundy's score with 54 points. The forward line of the Misfits was AWOL, with no player scoring over 70, whilst the man with a name built for the adult film industry, Orazio Fantasia, continued to show what a shrewd draft selection he was for Marble Bar, Gundagai are now in the lofty heights of mid table mediocrity.
Lovely Banks Lilacs 1087 defeated by Venus Bay Vultures 1225
Lovely Banks go down to the Vultures to go 0-5, but are showing plenty in the early rounds of this season. The Vultures had a doughnut which will leave a difficult conversation for Fitzy to have at the review meeting this afternoon. Rosa, Thompson, Duncan and Stanley lit it up for the Lilacs, but it was the midfield of the Vultures that won the game with tons from Parker and Greene (both 129), Gaff and Blair (both 102) icing the game early on. The Vultures rucks struggled, with Martin only getting 69 and Kreuzer doing stuff all for his 37. Fitzy might count himself lucky in this...

Oh Fyfe, you were my captain.
You led me to a 2048 and now you are gone.
Sigh.
How'd the rest of you go?

The Hawks and Crows match was a beauty and this Anzac round has plenty of great matchups to come.
Good luck in your SC and fantasy footy comps, tipping and punting, long weekending and whatever elseing.
Rumours abound that Grimley is playing on Anzac day so be careful using him as your Captain loophole in case he is a a late in.
I am posting this on the iPad, so if anyone can add an Anzac day related pic I would be thankful - lest we forget !

Did I say Ablett would get 150+, well I did warn you that I know no more than the average SCer.
He didn’t do that bad, but I wanted more.
Nevertheless we’re back again with another edition of Best Buys. I’ve tried to add commentary where I can, but will need some of the experts (or anyone really) out there to fill in the blanks in the comment section.
I’ve also added a small list of “wait a week” options – mainly rookies this week, but that may change in the future.

Whitsunday (1301) defeated Gundagai (1121)
A comfortable win for the Warriors who are now sitting nicely in the top four. Suckling (122) was prolific with ball in hand and was well supported by Boak (103) and Birchall (102). A consistent effort across the board also saw six other players score 90+. However, their backline depth will be tested next week with in-form Jason Johannisen expected out for an extended period with a hamstring. As for the Hoppers, this was their lowest score for the season in a minor setback; however plenty of kids are still showing signs of improvement albeit a lack of consistency. Neale (120) and Billings (102) were the best performers.
Waikikamoocow (1161) defeated by Darraweit Guim (1320)
Darraweit got their season off and running, cruising to victory by 159 points. Star defender Rance (146) led the way with Coniglio (126), Armitage (105) and Tyson (103) cleaning up in the midfield in the Guim’s best score for the season. They will be looking to push into the top eight in the coming weeks, however will have to do so without Steven May for at least four weeks after his big hit on Stef Martin. The Incorrigibles simply had too many passengers and are now 2-2 to start the season. Big outings from Fyfe (141) and Hannebery (129) with support from Hall (114) and Harry Taylor (104) wasn’t enough for the Cows who had six scores under 70 including a donut.
Nunawading (1099) defeated Wineglass Bay (945)
The Nuffers also got off the mark, easily seeing off the Packers in a low scoring affair. Solid performances from Kade Simpson (101) and Naitanui (100) helped outclass their undermanned opponents. Despite the win, the Nuffers will need more out of Dixon (29) and Varcoe (43) if they are to push for the top eight in the coming weeks. For the Packers, three donuts didn’t help their cause and they failed to make it a contest. However, Sloane (137) looks to...

Disappointing round this one, gunna be lucky to crack the 2k!
Looking around the traps though, that's looking pretty par.
Sub-standard captains, combined with some craply rookies have hit a lot of us.
That said, if you've gone with Yeo, Mitchell, Greene, Zaha- you'll be smiling right now.
How have you all gone?
