Welcome Everybody to the 2016 Trading Games league!

What's it all about? Basically every year some of the leaders in the community gather together and choose the players picked in a team we all start with. The players in every team in the group start the same before the round 1 lockout. Then, as the year progresses, and trades are made, the challenge becomes finishing on top of the group with the most points overall. That's it; just use your trades and your emergency/captain picks wisely, and turn the team we all start with into a winning team by scoring the most points.

Rules:1. EVERYBODY must start with the exact same 30 players. No exceptions.

2. You don't use your main team, we would prefer if you 'invited' your daughter, wife, grandfather etc to create a team that you help to manage throughout the year. Don't join this league if you don't want to follow rule 1.

3. Like always, let's have fun and keep positive. Banter is expected and welcomed! Anyway, the whole thing is up in the air for discussion as always. What are your thoughts to make it interesting again this year?

How to Join?

Season is just about to kick off, and we're all obviously obviously that there has been some serious changes to the site.

First things first, shout out to Jo who has been very understanding with the time that I've sunk into this thing.

Next up, features- and I'm kinda thinking that this post might become a manual of sorts, so I'll reserve a bunch of posts at the start and edit them as I go.

So whilst you are all busy making your last minute adjustments to your SC/DT teams, here at TipBetPro we are getting ready to use SC stats (amongst others) to predict the outcome of every AFL match. We’ll be sharing these tipping predictions every week on our website (http://www.tipbetpro.com/) along with key statistical insights right here at TooSerious.

Last year we tipped 152 games correctly (72%), which was 4 more than the bookies favourites, 8 more than the Swinburne University Super Computer (we use fairly standard laptops!) and we finished 1,665th out of nearly half a million footytips.com.au users.

If anyone could volunteer that would be fantastic, it shouldn't take long to only do one league.

You get access to the donors forum, downloadable spreadsheets of data, higher attractiveness levels to members of both sexes and various other awesome attributes from subscribing.

And there's also a pretty nifty secret new feature that will be going in this year, only available to donors (aka, the beta testing team. ) - but more details will be up on that as the season fires up.

So, it's been years and years since I've written an article about how salary movements work in this game, and you sometimes forget that not everyone has been around for the past 10 years.

The SC leagues will be created based on ranking from the past two years. Post your top ranking, along with team name below, and you will be put in a league with players of similar ability.

There is a 12 day deadline - to guarantee your place in a league you will need to have posted in this thread by March the 11th.
