TooSerious
For those who take it way too seriously
Wellity, wellity, well. Another ORFFL regular season is almost over and just the one position in the final 8 is yet to be decided going into the last round. That of 8th. Milikapati hold the position for the moment, but amazingly only 4 total points separates them from 9th placed Warburton. Glenrowan has more points than both of the above, however they sit a game behind on 7 wins and facing the Dangerfield led Smiths Beach this weekend. With Beams out they may have given up the ghost already.
It is mathematically possible that either Bundalong or Popanyinning could make the finals, yet given they'd Milikapati and Warburton to lose while making up 500-1200 points in a single round. So not technically impossible just highly unlikely. #believe
A note to Bundalong though; it is possible to play players Out Of Position - say a MID in a DEF slot, in case you were unawares. They get half their score is all.
And a note on the finals, let's make it 1-3 choose their opponents by Monday night.

After a long and grueling SC season the finals are now upon us. For those lucky, or skilled, enough to still be in the running for overall congratulations are in order, and for the rest of us hopefully a few league wins are still on the cards.
The Best Buy this week is Swan Dan Hannebery, who is enjoying an excellent season and even though he is the 3rd highest averaging midfielder still has a selection rate of under 20%. That's great news for those that are looking for another midfielder to take them to glory, and even better now his price has now dropped to under 570 grand.
Apologies if the Best Buys seem rushed this week, and good luck to all for the remaining rounds.
DEFENSE
ROOKIES
Tom Barrass (WCE) DEF 123.9k 60 +47k
Barrass has started his AFL career strongly, averaging 60 over his first 2 games with a high score of 71. This will see his price rise by an expected 47 grand after his next game, and with a price of 124 grand he looks like a good value downgrade choice. As with all rookies though of course, team selection will need to be monitored this week.
MID-PRICERS
Shaun Higgins (NM) D/F 497.4k 95 17.4%
Missy has been excellent value this season, starting in a fair few teams and delivering well for those that kept the faith. A price of just under 500 grand is around the mark for his average of 95, and with D/F positioning he has good flexibility. He hasn't put up many huge scores this season, his 138 on the weekend being one of the exceptions, but Higgins appears a solid choice for cover and loopholes especially when combined with the likes of Goddard.
PREMIUMS
Liam Picken (WBD) DEF 529.9k 101 7.2%
Picken is still one of the leading defenders in SC this season, averaging 101 after his 104 point effort against the Dons. A price of around 530 grand is a bit on the high side for his numbers but he has shown the ability to go large, and with only 7.2% of teams...

<p style='color: #000000; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;]Not showing much respect for their opponent, Waikikamoocow decided they could afford to leave a few players home to save on airfares this week, finishing up playing 1 short in defence and with only 1 on the bench. Nevertheless, they seem to know what they're doing, pulling off an excellent victory playing 2 short, which moved them up to 3rd on the ladder. McVeigh (143) and Hannebery (134) dominated in the midfield for Waikikamoocow, with Tom Mitchell (130) running rampant up forward. Birdsville had 6 players battle with less than 65 points each, whilst Lewis Jetta (122) put in a game to remember, dedicating his performance after the game to his mate at Cradle Mountain who missed this week due to personal reasons.

As I mentioned in the opening, things are coming together for the donor team, finally. This trading malarkey appears to be paying off, as we're hitting consistently high scores, and slowly moving up the overall leaderboard.
In Round 18 we scored 2,455 points, which gave us a round ranking of 9,543. Our YTD aggregate is now 38,142 points, giving us an overall ranking of 6,432.
We've got a solid enough team, with plenty of holes, some cookie-cutter selections, and enough POD value. If that doesn't sound like a complete oxy-moron, then maybe we need to re-define the term!
So lets have a look at the Donor Team for Round 18.
Defence
H Shaw 145
L Hodge 113 (VC)
B Houli 96
J Gibson 81
K Kolodjashnij 79
N Malceski 56
Bench of B Smith 64 and B Maynard 61.
We started the round with the VC on Hodge, expecting a big score, but his 113 just wasn't big enough. We ended the round with a strong performance from Shaw, who looked like he did his knee in the second quarter. In between we also had Houli and Gibson perform well enough (ok, technically they were also in the first game of the week), and a pair of bloody Suns with some average bloody scores. That boy Smith outscored the Eski for the second week in a row, so I think we'll be seeing a change down back this week, by a total of 8 lost potential points.
Midfield
J Selwood 171
M Priddis 125
L Parker 114
J Kennedy 110
S Pendlebury 102
D Beams 97
P Dangerfield 73
N O'Brien 43
Bench of R Knight 37, J Nelson 0 and N Fyfe 0.
Joel ducked his was to a top-scoring 171 points this week. It somewhat makes up for the 70's that he's been spitting out since we traded him in (not entirely fair...), although with his recent history we were never going to give him the captaincy. Gazza-replacement Priddis did very well, while Swans Parker and JPK were serviceable. Dependles appears less-and-less dependable as the weeks go on, while the Beams injury seems to be catching up to him. Danger is in danger...

There's been a lot of big news recently but in fantasy terms, not so much. However there was one piece of news overnight that was quite huge in fantasy terms for Supercoach next season:...
