TooSerious
For those who take it way too seriously
The last week in SuperCoach was a strange one really, one of those high-scoring rounds where no-one really has any idea how their going until the scores are finalised on Sunday night. Hopefully though, you all did well and managed to move up some spots in the rankings, as things are only going to get more serious from here. Whether you're going all-out for overall glory, or trying to conserve some sneaky trades for league finals, the Best Buys has you covered.
The Best Buy is a bit of a foregone conclusion this week really, as The Little Master has returned to form with a 153 point outing on Saturday. His price is still high and his leadership is still being questioned, but he is also still the Son of God however, so none of those other things really matter. If you can afford him now's the time to grab Gaz, but for the rest of us that can't pull the trigger this week there's always the rest of the Best Buys to assist in your trading.
DEFENSE
ROOKIES
Brayden Maynard (COL) D/M 117.3k 59 +47k
Maynard is on the bubble this week for the Pies, averaging 59 after his score of 66 on the weekend. A price tag of 117 grand is pretty good for that average, and he has D/M eligibility and will likely increase in price by almost 50 grand after his next game. A solid option from what we've seen so far.
Darcy Moore (COL) D/F 182.3k 32 -5k
Another Collingwood DPP, Moore is also on the bubble this week but with an average of 32. He scored 50 points in the last game to bump his average up, but due to his high starting price he's predicted to drop in value by 5 grand this week.
Ariel Steinberg (ESS) DEF 169.9k 45 +15k
Steinberg is also on the bubble, in a struggling Bombers side he is averaging 45 from his 2 games this year and looks likely to increase his price by around 15 grand after his next game. Costing 170 grand he seems like decent value, but is higher priced, has a lower average and no DPP when compared to Maynard....

There really isn't much to complain about this week. The score of 2,598 is our best this season, and the best I can remember (but there's been a few scotches consumed over the years, so don't trust my memory...). This gave us a ranking of 2,117 for the week. Our aggregate is now sitting at 30,875 which gives us an overall ranking inside the top 10k for the first time in 2015, in 9,396th place!
Lets have a look at how the team performed:
Defence
L Hodge 165
J Gibson 131
H Shaw 119
K Kolodjashnij 107
B Smith 69
B Houli 65
Bench of J Lever 64 and J Hamling 0.
Clearly some excellent scores there, with four tons and a 165 from Hodge. With Gibson, Shaw, and even Kolo doing the job, maybe we're starting to get our defence right. Having said that, we traded in Houli this week, and his disappointing 65, and traded in Smith a few weeks ago expecting a premium and getting below average on a consistent basis. No lost points in defence though, as Lever was the lowest scorer, sitting on the pine.
Midfield
P Dangerfield 156
D Beams 142
J Kennedy 126
J Selwood 103
S Pendlebury 96 (VC)
P Cripps 88
N Fyfe 80
L Parker 77
Bench of N O'Brien 87, J Nelson 0, and T Dumont 0.
We must have had one of the worst performing midfields in the league this week. While Danger was exceptional in a very moving game (which was a joy to attend, I must say), and Beams and JPK did well, the rest were below par. It was nice to see Selwood top the ton, for the first time since round 10, and the first time since he joined our team, Fyfe, Pendles, and Parker were complete disappointments. We'll let Cripps off for being a kid, but a combined 253 from the three amigos” when they're averaging a combined 100 points more than that, was a huge let down. To think we almost gave Fyfe the captaincy! Even the new recruit O'Brien outscored Fyfe and Parker, with his 10 points over Parker being missed opportunity that we wouldn't have taken.

A lot of big scores this week! Particularly if you went the Goldie VC, Fyfe C combo (And remembered to log in and change the C!
)
And on side note, there's interest in creating a 4th ORFF league to head into the 2016 season. So if you'd like to be a part of it, get into the comments below!

Port Adelaide have dug deep sending the Pies to their 3rd straight narrow loss following their bye, the Tiges had won ugly over the Bluebaggers and the Dees and Bombers match has been a low scoring affair to half time.
This weeks sees teams jostling for position in SC leagues and in the real world AFL the Hawks face a massive test against the top of the ladder but a little unimpressive in recent weeks Freo.
Lets hear how your traded in players have gone this week, whether you are rolling with Fyfe as Captain and any laments about the rookie choices you shouldn't have made etc etc.
Cheers TTH

This week has seen more dramas for SuperCoaches, with Watson ruled out for the rest of the season, Maric suspended for the weekend and a range of other players missing for various reasons. Trades are starting to become scarce for many, and the importance of nailing each and every one of them grows by the week. I have to apologise for being rushed this week, so feel free to point out players I may have missed and try to forgive the spelling/grammatical mistakes.
Speaking of players I missed, the Best Buy this week is Essendon ruckman Shaun McKernan. Last week he didn't make the list but was rightfully mentioned in the comments section by TooSerious coaches, and after looking at all the stats I have to agree he's potentially great value. A cheap price, solid average and great flexibility make him a solid choice for a whole range of teams[span style='color: #444444; background-color: #fcfcfc;]- and of course it may be worth placing abet[span style='color: #444444; background-color: #fcfcfc;]on the next match.
DEFENSE
ROOKIES
Zak Jones (SYD) DEF 182.8k 41 +6k
Jones isn't a first-year rookie, hence his price, but he is on the bubble this week with an average of 41 after his score of 72 on the weekend. Brother of Nathan he has shown some good sign early in his AFL career but has struggled to stay in the Swans side, and his job security remains an issue.
Nick Holman (CAR) DEF 123.9k 46 +28k
Holman has played the last 2 games for the Blues, scoring 63 against the Dogs to bring him onto the bubble with an average of 46. With a low starting price and a 28 grand rise on the way he appears decent value, but like Jones has questionable job security at best.
Caleb Marchbank (GWS) DEF 197.3k 42 +4k
A high draft pick for the Giants, Marchbank has taken a while to get his opportunity at the top level...

As a team, with only 18 players, the Donors did quite well in round 14. We scored 2,167 points, which had us placed at 2,567 for the round. Our aggregate score is now 28,277 with our overall ranking at 13,335.
As a further mark of respect, we gave the captaincy to Danger this week, and relegated Fyfe to the bench (which was all he deserved after a score like that!). Unfortunately we missed out on Pendles as VC, but a 149 from Goldy was more than enough to pull the loophole trigger!
The team summary looked a little like this:
Defence
K Kolodjashnij 143
L Hodge 119
H Shaw 110
A Saad 86
J Hamling 61
J Gibson 52
Bench of B Smith and J Lever, both with byes.
Gibson and Hamling were dropped from our score, while three tons, including a huge 143 from Kolo, was an excellent start for the side as we look through the scores. Definitely no complaints, although it was disappointing to see Gibson perform so poorly that his score was dropped - thems the breaks with defenders I suppose.
Midfield
S Pendlebury 184
JP Kennedy 143
D Beams 115
L Parker 110
P Cripps 77
J Steele 69
T Dumont 22
P Dangerfield 0 (C)
Bench of N Fyfe 89 (E), J Nelson 0, and J Selwood with the bye.
Well, you think Pendles is finally losing it, and being taken over by Fyfe as the permacap, when the old permacap comes back with a bang (Gazza with 124 thankyou very much!) while the new permacap turns up with a monster 184, and the bloke who supposedly replaced him does nothing more than an 89. What a round!
As I said, we missed Pendles as VC, but were happy to see JPK back in form, and Beams and Parker doing well. Fyfe came on from the bench, with his miserable score, while Cripps and his 77 was our lowest score of the round. Steele and Dumont got dropped by the wayside, while Danger, Ducky, and Nelson didn't contribute.
Rucks
T Goldstein 149 (VC, 298)
N Naitanui 108
Bench of M Cox 0
