Back for another year of Trading Games in SuperCoach, the comp where we all start with the same squad of players and then see [span style='background: #ffffff;]how our individual trading strategies separate us throughout the season.
Last years winner, <strong style='font-size: 14px;]Buzzboys[/b], finished in the top 200 overall.
BrockyFreo is running the comp this year and there's already been a bunch of discussion over in the forum for a while now.
Check it out here:http://tooserious.net/forum/Forum/tabid/91/forumid/12/postid/72206/scope/posts/Default.aspx#72206
The starting team has been chosen, but not finalised yet. There may be some modifications after teams are announced. BrockyFreo will post any changes on Friday. If you intend to take part in this comp, its essential that we all start with the same players, so make sure to keep up with any changes on Friday and update your team. (<em style='font-size: 14px;]BrockyFreo, can you let us know what time you will announce if there are any changes?)
There is a group set up that all participants must join as well.
Basically, set up a new account, choose the players in the team below, join the group, and then check back in here on Friday to find out the final squad of players and lock it in for round 1. You are free to set up the round 1 team however you wish, but everyone starts with the same 30 players.
The team as it stands at present is as follows:
<strong style='font-size: 14px;]D: Gibson, Taylor, Newnes, Goodes, Brown, Dalgleish, Hamling, Saad.[/b]
M: Pendlebury, Fyfe, Selwood, Sloan, Griffen, Newton, Cripps, Heeney, Ellis-Yolmen, Miller, Krakouer
R: Mumford, Minson, O'Brien
F: Gray, Martin, Swan, Salem, Clark, Hogan, Lamb, Steel.
There should be <strong style='font-size: 14px;]$285,900 remaining in the bank[/b].
Once you have set up the new account...
<p style='background-color: #ffffff;]
With less than a week to go before the first game, we've all got some final decisions to make.
<div>

<div>If you're tossing up between two options and you need some help, post your dilemma in this here thread to seek some feedback from the TS community.
<div>

<div>Over the weekend, I posed the question of Goldstein & Cockatoo or Lobbe & Cripps, and its currently all tied up at 4 thumbs each. Then HotPiesColdDrinks posed a similar type question too. Both of these were in the Rate My Team thread, which is really meant to be about rating teams :)
Hence my decision to get this thread happening, so there is a spot for these questions and a spot for rating teams....

...So, is there something you're weighing up that you could ask the TS community for assistance with?

Again the old thread was getting really long so time for a new one. Links to previous threads:

Who knows how many times I will change this again before R1 lockout arrives. I suspect the rookie-priced options will move around a bit. But I think I'm mostly happy with the keepers and 'almost-keepers'.
Presently my bye structure is 7/10/13 which not what I want it to be. 8/11/11 would be much better. I will need to be careful with early upgrades to be sure to improve this position. But it's not impossible to improve the balance before R11, so I'm happy enough for now. What does your bye structure look like?
Who else is onboard the various bandwagons of some of the players in my team below?

<p style='margin-bottom: 10px; color: #444444; background: #fcfcfc;][span style='background: #fcfcfc;]Just to repeat the ground rules for RMT:
<p style='margin-bottom: 10px; color: #444444; background: #fcfcfc;]1. In order to get feedback on your own team, you must first provide feedback on the teams that have been recently posted. This is the golden rule and is what makes this whole thing work.
<p style='margin-bottom: 10px; color: #444444; background: #fcfcfc;]2. If you just post your team without giving any feedback, your post will be deleted.
<p style='margin-bottom: 10px; color: #444444; background: #fcfcfc;]3. Please refrain from commenting on teams that have been posted by others that have not followed the golden rule.
<p style='margin-bottom: 10px; color: #444444; background: #fcfcfc;]4. Keep it civil. Constructive criticism is fine. But there is a line and please don't cross it.

Mitch Clark has torn up the preseason and apparently shed whatever excess weight he might have been carrying late last year. An obvious choice and is in most teams.
Swan is priced as the fallen premium that he is this year and clearly most coaches think he will get back to better SC scoring. Will Buckley continue to play him forward as much this year?
There could be quite a few surprised SC coaches out there if Hugh Goddard and Nathan Krakouer aren't named for R1.
I had to chuckle at 5.5% of coaches who still have Petracca in their teams. Either the autofill function is dudding people or there are a lot of SC coaches who clearly haven't been paying attention.
Looks like the Bontempelli bandwagon isn't as fully loaded as I would have expected.
These are the 50 most popular selections for defenders across all SuperCoach teams. I believe based on my research that the statistics haven't been updated on the SC website for a while however, so please take these numbers with a grain of salt.

With most of the top-scoring defenders from 2014 being re-assigned as MID only in 2015, coaches have clearly struggled to identify any SC locks on the DEF line.
A number of cheap DEF options are surprisingly popular picks, given the lack of exposure during NAB for some of these guys. Hugh Goddard could surprise a lot of coaches if he isn't named by the Saints for R1. Ditto Whitecross, who has been mooted to return via the VFL this year.
Nathan Brown has not averaged above 50 during the past 3 seasons, yet is the 7th most popular defender this year due to his rookie-price level. Will he be the ultimate slow-burner this year? I'm not convinced by his NAB scoring...

The Swan/Gray/Martin stats are hopefully because these guys have been selected as FWDs, rather than MIDs.
Of the true MIDs, Ablett still leads all comers, from Pendlebury and Fyfe. Rich is in a surprisingly high number of teams, followed by Selwood and Griffen. These names probably make up most of the top-end midfielders for the cookie-cutter teams this year it would seem.
Saad, Lambert and Krakouer are popular as cheapies, not sure that the 36% of Krakouer holders are going to be still onboard if he's not named for R1 though.
Van Berlo surprises me as a popular pick, sure he presents some value on his start price but his best season ever was an average of 88 and that was way back in 2011.
Injured players such as Petracca, Biggs and Crouch are still in an unreasonably high number of teams, suggesting that either...
Let's take a quick look at who the popular ruck selections are and who might be a point-of-difference in your starting SC team.

Rucks are a bit of an unknown this year, with the changes to the way hitouts will be scored. [span style='line-height: 18px; background-color: #ffffff; font-variant: normal; font-style: normal; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;]Why spend good money on a commodity that is overpriced? This appears to have turned a majority of supercoaches off the premium rucks from 2014, with the likes of Jacobs, Goldstein, Mumford, Sandilands and Lobbe not featuring in the most popular selections.
More than a quarter of all coaches are pinning their hopes on Naitanui being fit to play at the start of the regular season. It will be interesting to see how many stay onboard the NicNat train if he doesn't make any appearances during the NAB Challenge.
Mason Cox is far and away the most popular R3 candidate, with Wright and Durdin the next most popular cheap ruck options, followed by Read and Hannath. I am quite surprised at the number of selections for Wright and Durdin, and the low number of selections for O'Brien - who seems much more likely to play early games, according to what his coach has said to the media anyway.

Final stages of divisional league organisation. Could all admins please PM reserves if spots still haven't been filled. Some reserves may end up being in two leagues, your admin will tell you if you should remove yourself from a league. For now, DO NOT remove yourself from any leagues.

Waldo666, stevebbb, jmulldihno, cookie2711, EddieV were placed on the waiting list. Hopefully all will receive invites into Division 7 as some people move up a league.

Good luck to all for the SC Season. I'd like to say a big thank you to all the admins of each of the leagues - you made my life so much easier in organising this. It seems that my goal will be met - 7 leagues full of die-hard SuperCoaches, many of whom are regulars on TS. Thanks to all who have joined.

Thanks again, and good luck to all TSers!
