Premier League

The Ticking Time Bomb (6-10) 1562 defeated The Jug O Naughts (5-11) 1245

Games played were 45-42 in favour of the Time Bomb

Both teams close a disappointing minor round with The Ticking Time Bomb posting a consolation victory this round. The Time Bomb is safe from relegation due to the 3rd best points for in the league while it looks like JON will be safe from relegation as well. This round the best player for Time Bomb was Ibaka (230/5) while for JON it was Pau Gasol with (215/4).

King of Karlos (9-7) 1416 defeated Too Seriouseses (0-16) 1221

Games played were 43-38 in favour of Karlos.

This was the last official game in the Premier League for Walesy as he has now been relegated to Div One next season. His team looked scary on paper at the start of the year but due to a number of injuries and calculated risks his team never lived up to their potential. Karlos was able to post a comfortable win this round and is looking ahead to round one of the finals. CP3 was the best for Karlos this round with (214/4) and best for Walesy was Durant (169/3).

Wade Machine (8-8) 1658 defeated Ruddy's Cavaliers (11-5) 1393

Games played were 46-38 in favour of Wade Machine

Wade Machine have come home like a train in the 2nd half of the season and posted another win this over Ruddy. Ruddy finished top in his conference and has the week off in the 1st round of the finals. The leading scored for Wade Machine this round was Jordan (255/4) while the best for Ruddy was Westbrook with a massive (337/5).

Straight up Ballin (6-10) 1343 defeated Run TMC (5-11) 1174

Games played were 45-32 in favour of Straight Up Ballin

Things never really clicked for Run TMC this season and it now looks like Owen will be relegated to Div One. Straight Up Ballin is also in danger of being relegated and will...

Premier League

TS Heaver 1450 defeated Westside Hardcore 1348

Games played were 47-44 in favour of Heaver

This match was very close heading into the last day but Heaver was able to score 216 to 131 on the last day to claim the win. Heaver had 9 players break the ton this round and were led by Burke (159/4), Gallinari (140/4) and Turner (134/4). Westside have had a very consistent season but with this loss they bow out of the finals. KlayThompson was the best with (185/4), next best were Ariza (169/4) and Len (134/4).

King of Karlos 1642 defeated Hersey Hawkins Athletic Club 1289

Games played were 48-41 in favour of Karlos

Karlos took full advantage of a favourable schedule and was able to post a very comfortable win over HHAC. CP3 did most of the damage with (277/4), followed by Leonard (195/4) and Hassanity (194/4). HHAC had only lost 3 games in the minor round but unfortunately came up against a red hot Karlos this week. The best players for HHAC were Marc Gasol (159/4), Matthews (159/3) and Conley (127/4).

Minor round finals

Both Walesy, Dan and Jet were able to post victories in the first round of the minor finals. Walesy needs to win all 3 of his minor finals to avoid relegation.

With Owen losing it means that he is relegated to Div One.

With both teams finishing the regular season on a 5-game winning streak, one team was going to have their run ended in this match-up and The Raptors were that team. Welcome back everybody, hope you had good break.
It's still February, but for those of us who take it seriously the time has come to start planning our 2015 SC team. For me this meant logging into the SC website and attempting my first crack at selecting 30 players. After about my fifth selection, I realised that I needed a plan (because clearly I didn't currently have one).
Should I load up on elite midfielders, or make use of the extended 11-slot MID line to load up on rookie-priced players instead?
Set-and-forget ruck pariing, or mid-priced madness?
I needed to do some research.
Some Technical Stuff
The starting salaries for 2015 are (mostly) based on the 2014 SC average for each player, where each point-per-game (ppg) results in $5,375 worth of starting price. For example, a player who averaged exactly 96 last year (such as Paul Chapman) is priced at $516,000 for 2015.
There are exceptions of course. New draftees have been arbitrarily assigned a starting price, with senior-listed players starting from $117,300 (or an expected average of 21.8 ppg) and rookie-listed players starting from $102,400. First round draft picks attracted an additional premium starting with Laverde at $127k and adding $5k for each previous draft pick all the way up to McCartin at the top end of town on $222k. The difference being that McCartin is initially priced as a player who will score 41 ppg whereas Laverde is priced as a player who will score 24 ppg.
Then there also exceptions for players who missed a lot of games during 2014, or maybe even all of 2014. The way this has been determined is arbitrary in every sense, because not every injured player got a discount and not every discounted player received the same level of discount. Discounts range from 70% (Cameron Delaney, who played no games in 2014) to 10% (applied to a group of 20 players including Ben Reid (4 games), Daniel Wells (7 games) and Tom Clurey (1 game)). Where a discount was applied for a given...
Ok peeps, TS has officially been rolled over for the 2015 season.

Stats, Draft Planner, MyTeams and the Ticker should all be happy and active right now.

Let me know if you spot anything broken- and we'll start up the RMT threads just in time for the NAB.
Only more round to go before the finals commence. Let's get into the reviews.

In 2015, TooSerious will be running SC leagues again. This time though, there will be a rankings system to see who gets into each SC league. This should allow fairer leagues and hopefully get one or two into the Top 20 Leagues for the whole of SC. If you enter, you will be playing against players of the same ability who all take it 'Tooseriously' - none of those teams who are set up for the first round then forgotten about.

How to enter

Post your best ranking from the past3Supercoach years (2012, 2013 or 2014)below in the comments. If you don't know it, take a guess, and it will be rounded to the nearest 500 places (if you post 'ranking around 2300' then you will be allocated a league based on a ranking of 2500). Another place to check may be the app from that year, the apps are never updated.

The leagues will be allocated based on ranking, so the best 18 rankings play each other, then the second best, then the third, and so on. Make sure you keep one league free - this year you can join 10.

Details

I'm not sure how many leagues we will get, but I would like to have one person from each league to set it up and ensure the right people get in. If you could do this, please include that in your comment below.

People will have until March 1 12am to post their rankings and get...
<p style='color: #434343; margin-bottom: 0px;]Right, so here they are.

<p style='color: #434343; margin-bottom: 0px;]NEW RULE!!!!
<p style='color: #434343; margin-bottom: 0px;]Teams will now have last week's entered team as their default selected team as opposed to having to enter a new team every week.
<p style='color: #434343; margin-bottom: 0px;]
<p style='color: #434343; margin-bottom: 0px;]Note: don't abuse this. If you actually can't be bothered entering in a team most weeks please let us know so we can find a coach who does want to play. We don't mind, it's better for everyone this way.
<p style='color: #434343; margin-bottom: 0px;]
<p style='color: #434343; margin-bottom: 0px;]Also, in the unlikely event that SCSS is somehow lost to the world of ORFFL I suggest we get a proxy to draft for him while we work out what to do with his team in the month of March. Personally I propose Chris88 from the FA, as it seems a pretty logical fit if he's willing.
<p style='color: #434343; margin-bottom: 0px;]
<p style='color: #434343; margin-bottom: 0px;]Also again, EV if you'd like to hand over a list and nominate a proxy for to draft for you during the period of 3rd-10th March, there are many fine candidates in the FA and the wider TS community. Same goes for you Licky, although I kind of imagine you're hell bent on restructuring your own list...
Cricket is back! Thought it was over did you?

Sorry for the short notice as I've been away, but in less than 24 hours the 2015 Cricket World Cup will begin!

There's a couple of Fantasy competitions to go, notably:

Official Competition - League 37104
Fox Competition - Classic League 5046-1081, H2H League 5046-1082

The Official Comp has some weird scoring and structures I'm going to have to try and wrap my head around today, the Fox is your bread and butter Fox competition.

I don't have too many tips at this stage, but again for some reason there's a bunch of BYEs and DGWs to take advantage of, starting with NZ DGW in Week 1.

Join up and let's have some fun!
Lets get straight into the reviews for Round 14.

Premier League

TS Heaver (10-4) 1454 defeated The Ticking Time Bomb (5-8) 1354

Games played 42-39 in favour of Heaver

This match was very tight until the 2nd to last day of the round where Heaver was able to gain a 100 pt lead. Leading scorers for Heaver were Griffin (191/4), Millsap (177/3) and DeRozan (158/4). Leading scorers for Time Bomb were Cousins (152/3), Jack (140/2) and Greek Freak (125/3).

King of Karlos (8-6) 1398 defeated Run TMC (4-10) 952

Games played were 40-31 in favour of King of Karlos

Karlos has timed his run to the finals nicely and Hassanity is leading the way for his team. This match was over from the very start and the best players for Karlos were Hassanity (154/3), Hayward (170/30) and CP3 (188/4). Run TMC only had 2 players break the 100 pt mark this round and they were Lawson (135/4) and Vucevic (135/3).

Ruddy's Cavaliers (10-4) 1424 defeated Straight Up Ballin (5-9) 1314

Games played were 43-42 in favour of Ruddy.

After a flat spot in the middle of the season, the Cavaliers have now bounced back to form and gearing up for their final's assault. This was a must win match for Straight Up Ballin to have any hope of making the finals and this loss sees them eliminated from finals contention. The best players for Ruddy this round were Z-Bo (209/4), Ellis (197/4) and Covington (140/4). While the leading scorers for Straight Up Ballin were Noel (168/4), LBJ (173/4) and Lowry (154/4).

Wade Machine (6-8) 1310 defeated Too Seriouseses (0-14) 1043

Games played were 38-29 in favour of Wade Machine

Wade Machine has been one of the form teams as of late and showed no mercy to the winless Too Seriouseses. The only way Walesy is going to avoid relegation is to win the minor grand final but his team needs to turn things around fast. Best players for Wade Machine were Jordan (193/4), Curry (189/3) and Lou Williams...
Looks like VirtualSports has cracked openThe Real DTfor another year.

Key points to note are the $30,000 prize for first place, and the $2700 prize for the highest league.

Kinda makes me want to get a league together.

Who's interested in filling a few TS Leagues?

Also- planning on rolling the site over to 2015 this weekend now that all the comps are open. So long as the heat doesn't get the better of me.
