For those who take it way too seriously
<div>The drafts will be occurring this Sunday and Monday. Hopefully everyone can participate in their draft.
<div>
<div>Here is a reminder of the draft dates.
<div>
<div>Premier League - Sunday 19th October at 10.00 pm (AEDST)
<div>
<div>Division One - Sunday 19th October at 10.00pm (AEDST)
<div>
<div>Division Two - Monday 20th October at 10.00pm (AEDST)
<div>
<div>Division Three - Monday 20th October at 10.00pm (AEDST)
<div>
<div>If you are not available for the draft, you can set up a predraft list whereby the system will pick the next available player from your list when it is your turn to pick.
<div>
<div>Here are some other points for first time players.
<div>
<div>Waiver order
<div>
<div>Once the drafts are completed, all undrafted players will go into the waiver pool. It will take 2 days for these players to pass through waivers.
<div>
<div>The waiver order in each league is the reverse of the draft order.
<div>
<div>You can put a bid in for a player on waivers and that player will be assigned to you if you are the successful bidder depending if any other teams bid for that player (then it will go via the waiver order)
<div>
<div>A player will become a free agent once they clear waivers if no team has used their waiver claim on them.
<div>
<div>Players dropped from teams throughout the year will go directly into the waiver pool unless that player was selected and dropped within in a space of 24 hrs (in this situation they will fall back into the free agent pool).
<div>
<div>Trading block
<div>
<div>Once the drafts are completed, we recommend that teams update their trading block. This allows other teams in your league to see what players are available for trade and what players are untouchable. As soon as the draft is complete, you can propose trades to other teams in your league.
<div>
<div>Matchups

<div>Each week your team will play against another team in your league. You are...

With the English Premier League beginning to pick up pace, fantasy managers are looking to find a balanced team with which to attack the rest of the season. One of the most important aspects for fantasy soccer fans is ensuring they have strikers who can weigh in with the points through goal-scoring and assists.
While picking solid goalkeepers and defenders is key in securing points through saves made and clean sheets produced, and midfielders for their ability to gain points for both offensive and defensive achievements, it's selecting the right strikers that can give fantasy fans the chance to pick up the big points.
Fantasy fans are gaining a clearer idea of which strikers are heading towards 20-plus goals for the season, and it's those forwards who you really need to have in your squad. If you haven't selected at least two of these players in your squad, then you really need to act now if you're not going to fall behind in your fantasy table.
Diego Costa (Chelsea) &pound;11.2m
With nine goals to his name, Diego Costa has already racked up 54 fantasy points this season and played a key role in Chelsea leading the EPL title betting with bet365 Australia. Barring injury, Costa could be the man who finishes at the top of the fantasy tables come the end of the season.
Sergio Aguero (Man City) &pound;12.2m
After struggling with injury towards the end of last season, Sergio Aguero has been in impressive form so far this year, scoring five league goals and rewarding his fantasy managers with a nice amount of points.
Steven Naismith (Everton) &pound;5.2m
At just &pound;5.2m, Steven Naismith has long been a staple of fantasy managers' squads. But rather than a decent back-up option, the Everton striker has been right amongst the points this year and worked his way into a lot of...

With a salary cap of $10,000,000 you could have gotten a score of 62,511 (read it here: Hindsight SuperCoach 2014), while to beat the winner's score of 54,465 you'd only need a salary cap of $5,609,600 (read it here:Hindsight SuperCoach 2014 Cheap Tuesday Special).
Unlimited salary cap, of course it takes away all the money-trading, but who wouldn't want it ...

Well, the footy is done and dusted for 2014 and now begins the long off-season of soul-searching and research ready for another crack at the various fantasy footy in 2015.
However that doesn't mean there isn't any fantasy action out there for the next 185 days.
Over the next 6 months there is still plenty of sports to get your fantasy fix, one of which is held over the Spring Racing Carnival.
That's right, the popular Sky Racing Star Stable comp is about to start on Saturday.
We have had a small group of horse racing lovers here at TS take part in this comp over the past few years and once again I have opened up a TS league for all you racing fans to come and join!!!
With a first prize for overall winner valued at $10,000 it is well worth the effort of having a crack!!!
Come and join the fun athttp://www.starstable.com.au/
Then as you sign up join the league, Seriously TS[span style='letter-spacing: -0.449999988079071px; color: #84b714; background: #ffffff;]610985

Well, looks like we have a fairly decent size league this spring - bring on the next 7 weeks
Have gone for a bit of a mix in my initial 10 horse stable - some for today (Epsom, Metrop, Turnbull - including my fave warrior Happy Trails), a couple of good chances for the Caulfield/Thousand Guineas, and a couple of others.
Also got about 40 on my watch list and ready to swing the 2 Japanese horses in for the Caulfield Cup (although I think Admire Raki is more suited to the open spaces of Flemington for the Melbourne Cup)
How has everyone else fared setting up their stables? Feel free to comment away here or in the forum post - let's get some discussion/comments/banter happening over the next 7 weeks gang.

Blurb to be added
With only just over 4 weeks to go before the season starts, it is time to announce the draft order for each league and the draft date.
<div>
IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO, PLEASE ACCEPT THE INVITATION TO JOIN YOUR LEAGUE AND CREATE YOUR TEAM NAME ASAP (this only applies to new players and people who have changed leagues)
<div>
I am going to recommend that all the drafts are held on the Monday night 20th of October. This is a week before the season starts and it will allow time for any undrafted players to pass through waivers.
<div>
If you are unavailable on the 20th of October, you can set up a pre draft list whereby the system will automatically take the next available player from your list.
<div>
Due to the time difference between here and the US, the earliest time we can commence the draft is at 10.00pm (AEDST).
<div>
For those people playing for the first time this season, we use the snake format for the draft. E.g whoever has pick 1 in the first round, will have the last pick in the second round (e.g pick 24) and will have the first pick in the third round (e.g pick 25)
<div>
Based on feedback received last year, we are going to extend the time for selection of each pick from 30 seconds to 60 seconds.
<div>
Also, you can trade draft picks between teams in your league.
The draft order has been completed using your Too Serious user ID. Once everyone has joined their leagues, I will set up the draft order for each league on the website and you will then be able to propose trades of draft picks once this occurs if you wish to do so.
If anyone has any questions on how the draft works, how to play ESPN fantasy basketball or any other questions, post a comment below and one of us will respond to it.
This season promises to be huge and I know I can't wait for it to start.

Brisbane Lions Vice-Captain Tom Rockliff has been rewarded for his impressive form this year by being named in the AFL All Australian team, becoming the first player from the club to have achieved the feat of earning a place in the AFL's Team of the Year. While the Lions endured a relatively underwhelming season, finishing 15th in the AFL ladder, Rockliff once again proved himself to be a fantastic trade for fantasy fans in another hugely productive season for the youngster.
In a season in which he has averaged 134.8 fantasy points throughout his 18 appearances - his third season of averaging over 100 fantasy points - Rockliff became only the 21st Brisbane Lions player to have been selected in the All Australian line-up, joining an illustrious group of former legends including the likes of Kevin Murray, Simon Black, Michael Voss, Garry Wilson and Jonathan Brown. Despite his impressive form this year, Rockliff had to settle for a place on the interchange bench, with with Dyson Heppell (ESS), Josh Kennedy (SYD), Nat Fyfe (FRE), Joel Selwood (GEEL), and Gary Ablett (GC) named among the on-field centreline and roving positions.
After regularly appearing in the All Australian sides of the early 2000s, the Lions have been largely absent over the past decade, and Brown becomes the only player to have earned All-Australian status since 2005. Despite only being 24-years old, Rockliff is now able to add his latest accolade to a growing collection that already includes two Merrett-Murray Medals, a Marcus Ashcroft Medal (2012), a sixth placing in the Brownlow Medal (2013), and a podium finish in the AFL Rising Star Award (2010).
While Brisbane have never been in the mix this season, it won't come as a surprise to anyone who has watched the Lions this season to see the midfielder named in the All Australian after the year he has just had, finishing the season averaging more disposals (32.7 per game), more tackles (9.1), and more AFL Fantasy points...

Evening everyone, it's been a completely mad day for me today - last minute sign ups to the syndicate and placing all the syndicate bets has seen this Bear glued to the computer and phone all day!!!
In the end, we had 30 shares snapped up by 18 regular/semi-regular TSer's!!!
That means $750 in the kitty, so with that much to play with I am seriously expecting to at least double our expenditure at a minimum!!! That means the pressure is on Holey that his predictions come up
I have spread the bets around in 4, 5 and 6 leg multi's, with a few 7 and 8 leg ones thrown in plus a monster 9 leg that will see us laughing if it comes in
The main players we will be cheering on are Sloane, Gibbs, Beams, Treloar, Tyson, Harvey, Gray, Buddy and Libba - with a few multi's including Roughy, Lynch and Ellis.
Have also placed a few straight out bets on team vote leaders - Sloane, Beams, Treloar, Tyson, Buddy along with Roughie, Ellis and Lynch!!!
Have also gone for Gazza to be leading at round 5.
Can't go in to all bets right now as it would be an all night job just to post them, but I will get the spreadsheet out to all signed up share holders as soon as I complete updating it.
Enjoy the count gang and cheer our players home!!!
