So a 15% higher score than the winner, but from memory it was around 20% last year. That means the season was either more predictable or the skill level has gone up a notch. Maybe I can even learn something from the above and get back into it next season.
In the mean time, TTH asked an interesting question during the season and that was how much salary cap was required to match the ladder leader / winner's score [edit by TTH, after Round 15 the magic number was $5,768,500]. I'll get that done next (have your guess before I get to it) and will post the teams & trades in a separate post.

The Grand Final
The Codpieces reign supreme in the ORFFA, with Iron Knob tasting premiership success for the first time, overcoming a gallant Wagga Wagga side to win 1400-1292.
In a game that swung back and forth across the weekend, the Codpieces saved their best until the final stages, kicking away to a late lead from which they were never headed.
The star of the late game surge was none other than the sometimes-maligned Ryan Griffin, who has tested coach Jim's patience at various stages throughout the season.
However Griffin repaid the faith in this one, his massive score of 189 sealing the deal and ensuring his team would not be denied.
Overall, the game was very tight throughout, with a series of great scores mixed in with a number of down games.
For Iron Knob, the impressive defence led the way - Harbow, Hanley and Burgoyne all topping 100. Shuey and Griffin scored centuries in the midfield, while Puopolo's 101 off the bench made up for a series of disappointing scores from Codpieces' forwards.
Wagga Wagga might well rue the withdrawal of Lance Franklin, whose hot form helped propel the Wombats into the grand final. Late replacement Jarman Impey was unable to fill the void, despite battling hard.
Wagga's defence also led the way - Malceski, Swallow and Murphy all notching up 100+ scores. They were joined by young midfielders Bastinac and Shiel, while in the ruck the future is now with young Scott Lycett rounding off a great 2014 with a ton.
Jay Schulz also hit the century mark, but it wasn't enough to overcome a couple of other disappointing scores in the forward line.
Congratulations to Iron Knob on the victory, and to Wagga Wagga on a superb finals run. Both sides have plenty to look forward to in 2015.

Meanwhile, Powlett Plains have put a triumphant full stop at the end of their season, taking out the Dawson over Gariwerd 1287 to 1100.

With the NFL season opening in less than 5 days, the TS Australia NFL Keeper League, the premier NFL fantasy football league in Australia, redrafted on the weekend. Pre-season is mercifully over and with the real stuff kicking off with Seattle v Green Bay, a quick draft recap and season preview is on the cards. For those playing along at home, teams can retain a maximum of 6 players from their previous year's roster, and then go to the draft to select the remaining squad members. Essentially, round 1 in the re-draft is in reality round 7 of a non-keeper league draft.
NFC
Rigil Kentaurus: Selected the new Jets acquisition CJ2K with their first selection in the re-draft, and followed it up by taking a still unproven QB in Ryan Tannehill in round 2. Golden Tate could be a wise selection considering he will only ever receive single coverage at Detroit, and Kyle Rudolph was a good get at round 10, particularly if Cassel can get some improved O-line protection. Freeman in round 11 looks a bit of a reach, as was Tucker in round 13. The real surprise though was the selection of 2 defences and another kicker, did auto-selection kick in?? Draft Grade - C
Brady's Bunch: The Bunch started 2014 in the right fashion taking Toby Gerhart, the artist formerly known as All Day's back up at Minnesota but now the Jaguars No.1 RB. Their second selection was a surprise, with the little dynamite with an ever-softening head, Wes Welker, taken late in round 8. Yes Wes plays for Peyton, and yes he remains a good player, but his history of concussion must surely be a concern for the Bunch? Taking Ladarius Green in round 9 was a definite reach, but may turn out to be value in the long run that is this keeper league. Robinson, Hunter and Ivory were all sound selections, but a kicker in the 12th round, just silliness. Loved the Patriots D/ST selection, the addition of Revis and continued emergence of Chandler Jones is likely to see the Pats a force defensively...

So. How has this year gone? Me? I've had a terrible year! injuries played their part, but mostly, poor trading was my down fall. I can't believe how lax one can get with 30 trades! It's definitely something that I'm going to need to work on for next season!

This season, in our 4th year running this comp on TS, we started with 30 teams and buzzboys has pulled of the W in sensational style, finishing with an overall ranking of 193!!
I'm not sure what happened the last two years (maybe someone can update us in the comments), but I know that in the first year of this comp in 2011, the winner also finished top 200 too, which speaks volumes for this comp. Its a great one, and lots of fun to play. Hopefully we can get even greater participation next season again
