It's finally here. After a long SC season, particularly the last few weeks, those that have fought their way through all the donuts and the carnage have earned themselves a well deserved spot in the SC Grand Finals and now it all comes down to this one weekend in August. That doesn't sound quite right but I'm sure you all get the picture.

This week there is no single Best Buy, as it really comes down to who your opponent is playing and where you can gain an advantage against them. POD's will decide the outcome, and as such the Best Buys is mainly focusing on these players to try and give you the edge you need to take home the virtual silverware. Good luck to all those who have made it this far, in both leagues and overall, and I hope you can get a win this weekend.

This is the last article from me this year, probably anyway, so I look forward to chatting to you all over the off-season before it all starts over once again next year in the quest for fantasy glory.

DEFENSE
ROOKIES

Ariel Steinberg (ESS) DEF 123.9k 39 +19k

Steinberg is the only defensive rookie on the bubble this week, but being the SC grand finals I wouldn't have thought too many people would be looking for a downgrade option anyway. Just in case you are though, he's averaged 39 from his first 2 games and costs 124 grand.

PREMIUMS

Jarrad McVeigh (SYD) D/M 534.5k 105

McVeigh is still one of the better defensive picks of the season, with an average of 105 for the year and a price of 535 grand. With over 100,000 selections he's not a POD, but if you're playing a side with him already in it then it could be worthwhile bringing him in to cancel out the opposition advantage.

Nick Malceski (SYD) DEF 519k 104
Malceski has only just been pipped by McVeigh in averages, with a 104 for the year, but is in considerably less teams with around 28,000 selections. Looks a decent POD against McVeigh, and should be in for another good night...
While Brent Harvey's three-week suspension may have come as a blow to a number of fantasy fans as well as the North Melbourne management, the finals-seeking club are looking to take the positives from what is a huge negative. Looking to end an absence from the finals that dates back to 2007, the Roos fans were devastated to see the veteran handed a three week suspension following his tipping of Western Bulldogs Liam Picken in Round 21.
After unsuccessfully appealing the ban, both the club and the player have been forced to accept the AFL's decision and move on. With the ban now meaning Harvey's 19th season in the AFL could have come to an end unless North reach a semi-final, the Roos will have to do without the 36-year old in an elimination final that has split many betting on the game with http://www.bet365.com.au/news/en/betting/, as will those who have Harvey in their fantasy teams.

Despite his advancing years, this has been Harvey's best season in terms of fantasy points; averaging a career-high 99.7 in his 20 appearances this year, including a huge 144 points in Round 9. While it remains to be seen whether the veteran is able to improve those figures this season, Harvey will be working behind the scenes to help his North Melbourne team-mates give him the best chance of doing so, starting this weekend in Hobart against an Adelaide Crows side looking to cement their place in the top-eight.

As well as Harvey, winger Daniel Wells also finds himself unavailable for the crunch game in Tasmania through suspension, robbing Roos head coach Brad Scott most effective line-breakers. But while Harvey won't be able to help his team-mates on the field, the veteran will be in Hobart with the squad working behind the scenes with the young team and trying to use his experience to add something in the locker room in the hope of making up for his costly error against the Bulldogs.

Scott admitted it was a sizeable...
It's the penultimate round, so of course we were going to get more injuries! Bloody Murphy!
How have you fared? Make it through to the granny? Or with a quarter to go, is the game still on the line?
On Friday Port Adelaide were Grey-t, while Carlton had the blues.

Someof us are facing a donut eating feast this weekend, but good luck in the prelims for those still alive for 2014.

The Final Ladder

Recap of rules for the Finals:

3. FINALS

(a) Final 8, knockout style over 3 weeks (R21-23).

<div>

<div>(b) In the first week the Top 3 teams get to choose which team they play in the first week of the finals out of positions 5-8. Eg. 1st gets 1st choice, 2nd gets 2nd choice etc.
<div>

<div>(c) In the second week of the finals, the four winners from the previous play off in seeded matches, according to the ladder at the end of the regular season. Eg. 1st vs 4th, 2nd vs 3rd.
<div>

(d) The third week of the finals will consist of one match between the winners of the previous weeks matches. This match is known as the ORFFL Grand Final.

So to start things off and so it's clear in this thread, Sarah Island Savages nominate their finals opponents, then Mount Buggery, then Mallacoota.

Good luck to all!
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt; background: #fcfcfc;][span style='color: #444444;]Carnage round last week. But first, let's look at last week's leaders. Lobbe led the way with a massive 178. Franklin and Zorko also had huge games with 168 and 162 respectively. The other scores over 140 were Hanley (149), Gray (148), Lewis (145), Bennell (144), Pavlich (143) and Caddy (140). It is interesting to see a ruckman and a (mobile) forward leading the way. Let's look at the (limited!) options for this week &amp;hellip;

Iron Knob 1498 d Charlies Opening 1201
The minor premiers firmed in flag favouritism after an effortless 297 point win over a game Charlie's Opening outfit.
The Codpieces, even without Gary Ablett, remain a force to be reckoned with - especially with Pearce Hanley posting GAJ-like numbers. Hanley's 149 led seven tons, including 120+ from Goldstein and Shuey. And you know everything is coming up Milhouse when even Jarrad Waite is finding form at the right time of the year.
For the Spelunkers, young gun Bontempelli (139) again smashed out a great score, while Swallow (121), MacKenzie and Hill broke into three figures.
Again the absence of a recognised ruckman didn't help the side - and may have to be addressed in the off-season.

Foul Bay 1436 d Cradle Mountain 1116
Ouch. Unfortunately this one was a bit one-sided as well as a below-full strength Chickens' squad outclassed the boys from the Apple Isle.
Old man Pavlich (143) turned back the clock, proving to be a more than handy fill-in for the absent Orange Roughy. Selwood, Mummy and Libber Mk 2 also hit the ton, while another six players scored above 90.
For the Devils, it was a disappointing end to a fine season; like a few teams it seems injuries caught up with them at the wrong time - Pendles a late withdrawal and Stevie J absent decimated its midfield.
The Amazing Zorko provided a lone hand with a magical 162, while Heppell's hair bamboozled the opposition for 119.

Waikikamoocow 1202 d Birdsville 1182
The only close final for the weekend saw the Waikiks battle to a 20-point win over the Battlers.
The defensive duo of Taylor (132) and McVeigh (129) helped lead the way, while Big Sauce (130) continued his all-ORFFA form in the ruck. These contributions would prove crucial in the wash-up, given Jamie Elliott's withdrawal left the depleted Waikiks one player short.
For Birdsville, it was a case of so close but so far. If not for an untimely injury to Travis Cloke (60),...
After a horror week in fantasy football, that may even leave some teams without a single playing midfielder, the Best Buys are here to try and ease your SC sorrows. This round looks to be one in where it's 'last man standing' rules, and being the last match before the SC grand finals it's bound to be another tough one. Time constraints have kept things fairly brief this week, but hopefully it'll be no less valuable.

The Best Buy for this week, a week that will go down in SC infamy, is the star West Coast midfielder Matt Priddis. On an excellent run of form as of late, and most importantly uninjured as of the time of writing this, Priddis could well be the saviour many teams are praying for. A hard in and under player and always a chance to snag a few goals Priddis should be firing this week against the Demons at Patterson's, and could even be a decent chance at being named captain for those who grab him.

DEFENSE
MID-PRICERS
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]

<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Luke Hodge (HAW) D/M 491.7k 93
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Hodge has been good value in recent games, pushing his average for the year up to 93 and playing a vital role in the Hawks team. Costing just over 490 grand and sitting in around 31,000 sides he looks to be decent value, and the D/M status may well help to cover some of the big outs in the midfield this week.
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]
<p style='margin-bottom: 0pt;]Heath Shaw (GWS) DEF 459.6k 92
Heater had a quieter game on the weekend, but really the Giants dominated the play for the majority of the match. With some serious injury concerns of their own GWS will be relying on players such as Shaw to step up this week, against much stiffer opposition, and Shaw should be a shoe-in to once again go 100+
