    The Round 3 fixture is:-

Heard Island Shags (2-0) vs Neptune Island Noahs (2-0) - 3rd vs 4th as both teams battle it out in the Southern Ocean to make it 3-0 to start the season, with the Noahs gunning for their 8th straight victory

Useless Loop Virgins (2-0) vs Macquarie Island Whales (1-1) - last year's losing prelim finalists clash in a mouthwatering contest, as the Whales conclude their gruelling 3 game road trip

Maralinga Atoms (0-2) vs Mt Thirsty Boozers (2-0) - the Atoms will need to pull out a clutch performance in the 3rd of 5 home games to open the season if they are to open their 2017 account this week against the top side who are striving for their 5th straight "W".

Drouin Dropbears (1-1) vs Rutherglen Fugitives (1-1) - a Victorian derby (aka EJ Whitten Shield match 1) sees 5th playing 7th

Walpole Woylies (1-1) vs Cockburn Avengers (1-1) - last time these two played they were both 0-4, but a year on they have started 2017 in better form

Dingo Beach Butchers (1-1) vs Wedge Island White Pointers (1-1) - the home side look to get their season back on track against the visiting Wedge Island

Black Swamp 29ers (1-1) vs Jan Juc Ducks (0-2) - the 29ers head to their home turf for a tough match against the Ducks who have lost 2 games by a combined 38 points in the opening 2 rounds

Mole Creek Glow-Worms (0-2) vs Port Lincoln Power (0-2) - the Power travel to Tassie as favourites to notch up their first win for the season

The last times the 16 teams clashed was in Round 5 of 2016

Maralinga Atoms are going to need a miracle this week, if any of our best 15 that are injured could perhaps put their hands up for selection, that would be great, Yes, Im talking to you Coniglio, Crouch, Hibberd, Lonergan, Dunkley, Bennell, Waite and NOW Goldstein.

Come on boys, the clock is a tickin..........

Round 3 is looking very interesting with a do or die match up with the Glow-Worms and Power and a flex of muscles from Shags and Noahs.

Mate that's a shocking injury list - maybe the boys should wear their radiation suits at training as well as in the home game ?

To be fair I reckon I have more chance of winning lotto than the Atoms have getting the trio of Crouch, Bennell and Waite to ever play more than 3 matches together in a row.

The Shags are up and about after 2 wins on the trot for their first time ever!
We're hoping the swim across the southern ocean will give us some sort of advantage over the reigning premier

@anthak If your mob can make that open water sojourn with limbs intact then i'll give you a 50 point head start.
Perhaps put Big Joe up front, as that facial hair is enough to ward off even the deadliest of sea creatures.

I thought it was your mob doing the swimming, and Gawn could easily take his place up front for you under your criteria.
Somehow, i dont think 50 points head start will be enough for us, so we're just hoping you try and swim and lose a few troups on the way ;)

Low scoring for the Atoms vs the Boozers game. Cameron is the only Boozers player to ton up so far. We are sitting at 7-558. The Atoms only have Dustys monster 155 as the only score over 81 and are sitting at 9-660.

Will come down to the bombers Carlton game where the boozers have 5 bombers players, although forecast of hail and 50mm of rain may make things interesting.

The Virgins are 1,025/12 85.4 and the Whales are on 655/10 65.5

In a low scoring affair at Salt Pond Park the visitors might have caught salt damp on the voyage over. Still some game time to come so anything could happen. @Darran
