Off to Venus Bay for a belting. Better put on a good pre-game spread @Fitzy as I don't think many of the supportters will hang around after about 3/4 time! Good luck to Zac Bailey getting his first run in the Magoos Charlies Opening Spelunkers Def: Riley Bonner, Jack Bowes, Jayden Short, Liam Duggan Mid: Marcus Bontempelli, Mark Blicavs, Rory Atkins, Andrew Brayshaw Ruck: Oscar McDonald Fwd: Cale Hooker, Sam Petrevski-Seton, Bayley Fritsch, Mitch McGovern Bench: Bailey Dale, Zac Merrett
Round 4 squad to face a tough Devils line-up IN: Caddy, Aliir OUT: WHE (reluctantly), DBJ DEF: Savage, Rance, May, Astbury (DBJ) MID: Cogs, Lyons, Newnes, Lewis (WHE) RUCK: Smith (Aliir OOP) FWD: Gunston, Caddy, Walters, Shed (Jack) I/C: Goddard, Brown Best of luck to Aliir, who'll most likely end up filling in as ruckman due to Potato Head Scott's penchant for baffling ruck preferences at Cat Park. The good news is that between Aliir, DBJ, EVW and an injured Marcus Adams, there seems to be some sort of depth in Darraweit's defence.
The Devils game against Darraweit should give us a better indication where both sides are at @chris88. The Devils haven't too tough in 2018, hopefully they can recapture their form. Your auction acquisition of Gunston might prove critical given the state of my forward line. I am not going to post my team in this thread although I have made some changes. I have been in Townsvile for a week and watched some of the Commonwealth Games Basketball. I am at Townsville airport but wont be back home until after tonight's game starts. Normal transmission will resume in Round 5 and I will return to posting my team in the ORFFA round thread.
Battlers team for round 4: DEF: L McDonald, Witherden, Ryan, Doedee (Clarke) MID: Treloar, Blakely, Sheed, Hunter (Cerra) RUCK: Witts FWD: Acres, Taylor, Turner, Hipwood IC: Cutler, Robertson Cutler comes in on the back of last week's 92. Would love to have another forward named so I could drop someone in that line but not to be.
Misfits look remarkably like this: DEFENDERS Rory Laird, Jake Lloyd, Nick Haynes, Adam Tomlinson MIDFIELDERS Callan Ward, Lachie Whitfield, Marc Murphy, Caleb Daniel RUCKS Matthew Kennedy* FORWARDS Devon Smith, Tim Taranto, Orazio Fantasia, Daniel Venables INTERCHANGE James Aish, Joe Daniher Caleb Daniel promoted from ruck to midfield Matt Kennedy demoted to ruck, stand tall my man Emergencies are for the weak
Packers team for this week DEFENDER Nathan Wilson, Andrew McGrath, OOP Jack Silvagni, Curtly Hampton MIDFIELDER Rory Sloane, Luke Dunstan, David Mundy, Jaidyn Stephenson RUCK Majak DAW FORWARD Tom Lynch, Brandon MATERA, Cameron McCarthy, Alex Neal-Bullen INTERCHANGE George Hewett. Charlie Constable
Lefties make the long trek to the Bar. Seems likely that some guys have fallen off the back of the team truck enroute. Def - Wagner, Brayshaw, Duryea, Perryman Mid - Ross, Phillips, Weller, Berry (Atley) Ruck - Ainsworth Fwd - K Langford, Begley, Hayward, Simpkin (Daicos) IC - Mathieson, Dumont (Shipley) 11-12 likely starters...
No idea how the Nuffers have been going, but they must be a huge chance to break their duck this week. The Battlers have been shithouse so far.
The senior side down at Foul Bay might be no good, but our reserves team continues to dominate each week. The first two weeks of the season saw Tim Kelly on fire. This week we have Shaun Atley (129), Stephen Hill (111), Cam Ellis-Yolmen (93), Matthew Wright (87) and Michael Johnson (83) carving it up in the lower leagues. All of these blokes bar Atley were emergencies this week, proving that match committee has no effing idea.
I was also in Townsville watching some basketball, last Monday and Tuesday evening sessions! It was great. It would’ve been good to see you there, Dean. I then went to all semi finals and medal games for both men and women this last weekend on the Gold Coast. Busy weekend, burning the midnight oil! Loved the Opals gold medal game the most.
