    This year's competition is a single year non-keeper league. Next year the AFLW comp expands to 14 teams and we will be looking to turn keeper from then on.
    Draft starts 7pm AEDT tonight (11th Jan)

    Draft sheet is below along with tabs featuring the immense amount of work @TheTassieHawk has done to assist in picking players by known output where possible.
    I've integrated his work so that when looking at the player detail and autopick sheets an indication will appear if a player has been taken, provided the player name has been entered in matching text. (I will monitor and adjust if not).
    Picks and discussion in this thread should be fine with only 8 coaches

    Coaches/Teams, in R1 Draft order.
    @Len - Bathurst Belles
    @That KI Guy - Vivonne Bay Valkeries
    @anthak - Pomona Nymphs
    @TheTassieHawk - Manildra Mystix
    @Jason - Lake Fanny Falcons
    @dmandrews - Lake St Clair Devils
    @FreoDockers - Kattaning Krushers
    @stripey - Tenterfield Termites

    Please ensure you are all watching this thread, and have email notifications turned on.

    Post reserved for squad explanation - note this can be tweaked if the majority assert that any of the proposals are severely stupid

    2019 ORFFW Squad Stuff
    • For ORFFW Rounds 1 to 3 franchises will have a list of 15 players. For ORFFW Rounds 4 to 7 franchises will have a list of 16 players.
    • Each week teams will named a squad of 10 players – D1, D2, M1, M2, M3, R1, F1, F2 (plus E1, E2). E1 and E2 cover late withdrawals from the starting 8 players and will count @100%unless out of position. The only dpps in 2019 are f/m per the prospectus but dpps will be switched around if needed prior to emergencies filling in for late withdrawals. E2 will fill in ahead of E1 if E1 is out of position and E2 is not.

    2019 ORFFW PSD – to commence at 7pm on Friday 11th January 2019
    • 15 players per team will be selected per banzai draft order – draft to be completed by no later than Tuesday 29th January 2019.
    • A maximum of 3 Ruck eligible players can be drafted per list.
    • Under 21 players (as at 1st January 2019) can be selected in the PSD.
    • Inactive and Rookie Listed Players are ineligible to be selected in the PSD.

    2019 ORFFW Supplementary PSD
    • Post naming of Round 1 AFLW teams (likely to be the evening of 31st January 2019) any drafted players not named for AFLW Round 1 can be replaced on any list by any Free Agent who is named for AFLW Round 1 – first in best dressed.
    • Post Supplementary PSD the maximum of 3 Ruck eligible players per list remains in place.
    • Free Agent Under 21 players (as at 1st January 2019) can be selected in the Supplementary PSD.
    • Rookie Listed Players are eligible to be selected in the Supplementary PSD provided that they are named for AFLW Round 1
    Midseason Draft – POST ORFFW Round 3
    • For ORFFW Rounds 4 to 7 Squad size increases from 15 players per team to 16 – hence the MSD is compulsory.
    • A maximum of 1 player from the final 15 player ORFFW squad for Rounds 1 to 3 may also be delisted and teams who do delist a player will be able to select a 2nd player in the MSD.
    • The MSD will commence at 9pm on Monday 18th February 2019 provided that all results for ORFFW Round 3 have been compiled and verified.
    • Post MSD the maximum of 3 Ruck eligible players per list remains in place.
    • MSD Draft order is reverse ORFFW ladder order after Round 3
    • Free Agent Under 21 players (as at 1st January 2019) cannot be selected in the MSD.
    Note the rationale for this originally is that some young players will be “bolters” and will improve considerably the following season’s Free Agent and equalisation pool and IMO it would be handy to follow this rule to see the extent to which this happens even though we aren’t pursuing a keeper league in 2019.
    • Rookie Listed Players are eligible to be selected in the MSD provided that they have played a minimum of 1 match in Rounds 1 to 3 of the AFLW season.

    Other Stuff
    • Please note that INACTIVE player spots do not apply in 2019 or for the first season of any keeper leagues commencing in 2020 but would apply for the second year of any keeper leagues commencing in 2020.
    • TRADES involving player for player (only) exchanges will be allowed once the preseason draft concludes and all trades must be completed by ORFFW Round 1 lockout.
    • Trading will not be allowed at midseason.

    Just gonna ask.. more for myself later in the draft if sh$t gets in the way rather than to point the finger at someone... what’s the timeframe for selections? Or are most people just gonna draft between midnight and 1am each day :D

    Will be 18 hours then autopicked, reducing to 6 hours between 6am and 1159pm for subsequent picks for the same coach once an autopick has been activated.

    At pick 14, we select Lauren Pearce from Melbourne.

    She lost her #1 ruck spot for the first few games last season, but won it back and finished the season strongly, so hopefully she can carry that on to 2019.
