With 5 weeks of cut-throat ORFFW competition eliminating 4 sides another 2 will join them on the sidelines by 545pm on Sunday evening and the survivors will qualify for the inaugural ORFFW Grand Final. Once again AFLW action commences on Saturday afternoon with Sunday teams trimmed around 5pm on Friday night. https://womens.afl/news/17028/teams-ko-d-docker-ruled-out-key-cat-back-for-must-win-clash ORFFW Teams can be entered at the usual place http://tooserious.net/forum/tsLeagueTeam.php and can then be viewed at http://tooserious.net/forum/tsLeagueMatchday.php?leagueId=21&round=6 Semi Final #1 sees the Mystix hosting the Falcons @Jason at Flour Girls Arena. The hosts finished the regular season in 1st position with a 4-1 W/L record whilst the visitors finished 4th with a 3-2 W/L. The smoke affected Round 2 match between these sides in Tasmania saw the Falcons victorious with the dynamic duo of Stanton and Blackburn racking up 90s and leading the way, whilst Ebony Marinoff topped 80 but played a lone hand as the side had their worst offensive performance of the year. Coach TTH has his side settled and focussed and will no doubt have watched footage of the Falcons Round 5 loss to the Krushers very closely in order to finetune this week’s gameplan. Meanwhile @Jason has been keeping a low profile but will be motivating his side to lift for the big occasion and to make it 2 wins from 2 against the home side. Semi Final #2 sees the Devils @dmandrews hosting the Nymphs @anthak in a clash of long-time ORFFA rival coaches at the Devils Den. The Taswegians finished the regular season in 2nd with a 3-2 W/L record narrowly clinching hosting rights by 16 more Seasons Points Scored than the Queensland side. The teams did not meet during the regular season and their formlines are polar opposites. Pomona won it’s first 3 before losing its last two, whilst the Devils sat 0-2 and stone motherless last before reeling off impressive back-to-back-to-back wins to surge into the finals in impressive form. Coach dmandrews has given his side a light week on the track ahead of the big match while Coach @anthak has held a No Holds Barred Wednesday night intraclub match simulation in an attempt to rediscover the Nymphs early season hunger before the 2 days of travel which will see them arriving at Laker St Clair a few hours before the game commences. We were the only team who inflicted a defeat on the Mystix during the regular season games, so we should be able to do it again. Glass half-full and all that!
@anthak not sure whether Teague has been named for the Nymphs but she is a late withdrawal https://www.geelongcats.com.au/news/2019-03-08/aflw-two-late-changes
The only position of the team that the Lake St Clair Devils match committee had to discuss was the ruck as the seven players filling the multi-player lines were clear-cut selections. In the end the decision was made to stick with Eliza Hynes in the ruck rather than recalling Breann Moody, this results in the LSC Devils being unchanged for the third week in a row, even the emergencies have remained the same over these three weeks. In the semi final the Devils play the Pomona Nymphs, the two teams were initially scheduled to meet in Round 3 but after the fixture was modified so that every club had a rivalry match they didn’t meet during the h & a season. Based on 2019 averages Pomona have performed better in the ruck with Emma King (68) having a 24 point advantage over mid-season LSC recruit Eliza Hynes (44). At either end of the ground the Devils have a narrow advantage of five points in defense and one point in the forward line. The depth in the LSC midfield sees them have a 39 point advantage on this line with all three Devils mids averaging over 70 so if Pomona can break-even in the midfield it would go a long way to them winning the game. The two players that LSC have spent the most time covering in their opposition analysis meeting are defender Jess Duffin who is averaging 81 points per game and ruck Emma King.

I made the post just before I left for the AFLW double header at Marvel Stadium and was in a bit of a rush. Sorry about the mistake @Jason , it turns out the LSC Devils opposition analysis needs to significantly improve.
