Welcome to ORFFW Round 6! Quick one this week as I have to go to work. Bathurst Belles - 8th vs Scone Sirens - 6th With the Sirens accruing far more points to date, they'll be hoping to win the Household Derby and make up some ladder positions. Wongan Hills Wallabies - 7th vs Junee Jets - 10th Can the Jets hang on to 10th or is this the night they start to tumble? Katanning Krushers - 4th vs Lake St Clair Devils - 1st Two matches here will be crucial to maintaining the current top ladder positions. With the Devils and Mystix in red-hot form, you'd have to think they're not too worried. Vivonne Bay Valkeries - 5th vs Manildra Mystix - 2nd Eastern Park Demons - 9th vs Pomona Wood Nymphs - 3rd Anything can happen but the Demons will have to be up for a fight. Timboon Trailblazers - 12th vs Glenbrook Galahs - 11th Both teams looking for their first win of the season after suffering an inexplicable dive to the bottom of the ladder, reminding me of that other team full of potatoes I support, the Giants. Really, we're all excited for the MSD right now anyway. (Or is that just me?)
Belles look a lot like this: DEFENDERS Tarni Evans, Gab Pound, Katie Lynch, - Kiera Mueller MIDFIELDERS Keeley Sherar, Mikayla Bowen, Sofia Hurley, Emily Pease - Paige Sheppard RUCKS Jessica Allan FORWARDS Laura Gardiner, Gemma Houghton, Eloise Jones - Stella Reid INTERCHANGE Paige Scott, Gabby O'Sullivan - Keely Coyne
Wongan Hills Wallabies OUT: Ella Friend, Tara Bohanna IN: Lily Goss, Haneen Zreika DEF: Elizabeth Keaney, Brooke Walker, Harriet Cordner (Jae Flynn) MID: Charlie Rowbottom, Isabella Lewis, Emily Bates, Abbey Dowrick (Kate Dempsey) RUCK: Mim Strom (Sarah Wielstra) FWD: Ella Roberts, Haneen Zreika, Lily Goss (Abbie Ballard) INT: Tyanna Smith, Eliza West (Tara Bohanna) Also, there is an issue on my submit team page. I can only have 2 field forward spots.
I should've checked the teams for this weekend before the draft. I didn't realise Jade Ellenger had been dropped. Im fairly good for midfielders with even 2 on the bench, but I dont have any mids left over to use as an emergency. I picked a forward with my first pick, but probably shouldve picked a mid. My 2nd pick, a defender will get a run this week... I just couldnt resist picking Ashleigh Saint, I like her a lot. Ive got a couple of other forwards who wont even get a gig as an emergency this week...
When the AFLW fixture was entered into TS there was an issue with afternoon games being picked up as AM rather than PM, pus from time to time there are issues with Australian time zones and GMT So in previous weeks there have been concerns about early lockouts that for some unknown reason haven't actually occured when the suspected early lockout time comes. However if it does break, then post your team in this thread before the opening game and someone will change your team around over the weekend
The Krushers have announced their squad for Round 6 against the league leading Devils.... Def: Hannah Priest, Eilish Sheerin, Madi Scanlon (Janelle Cuthbertson) Mid: Bri Davey, Mimi Hill, Jaimee Lambert, Hayley Miller (Taylah Gatt) Ruck: Lauren Wakfer (Lauren Bella) Fwd: Dana Hooker, Darcy Moloney, Kate Brennan (Rylie Wilcox) IC: Kaitlyn Ashmore, Aishling Moloney (Airlie Runnalls) In: Aisling Moloney, Lauren Wakfer, Out: Lauren Bella, Kerryn Peterson (inj)
Is this true? I havent noticed that. Should we just select the second game for the lockout to be safe, which will be 1pm Saturday AEDT. Or take the risk and set it for the first game and hope it actually locks at the start of first game
Whenever experiencing a team selection issue try to CLEAR the whole team in TS leagues then save again. The reason is most likely related to players who have been delisted prior to the MSD still being recognised from your round 5 team, as a ghost.
Eastern Park Demons Def: Emma Kearney, Jordyn Allen, Vivien Saad (Phoebe Monahan) Mid: Madison Newman, Teah Charlton, Isabel Dawes, Jacqueline Vogt (Aileen Gilroy) Ruck: Erin Hoare (Montana McKinnon) Fwd: Bonnie Toogood, Karen “Paxy” Paxman, Georgia Gee (Lily Postlethwaite) Int: Hannah Ewings, Elisabeth Georgostathis (Jacqueline Parry) Out: Montana McKinnon In: Erin Hoare
Lake St Clair Devils Round 6 team Out: Serene Watson (omitted) In: Meara Girvan Club debut: Meara Girvan Def: Angelique Stannett, Meghan McDonald, Meara Girvan (Georgia Clayden) Mid: Jasmine Garner, Emma Swanson, Monique Conti, Claudia Whitfort (Lily Mithen) Ruc: Jess Good (Lucy Wales) Fwd: Sarah Rowe, Emma King, Eden Zanker (Georgia Garnett) Int: Olivia Vesely, Kirsty Lamb (Charlotte Baskaran) Mid-season draft selection Meara Girvan makes her club debut for the Devils in defence against the fourth placed Katanning Krushers in a Round 6 away game. Girvan is one of five players drafted in 2023 that are in Lake St Clair’s 13 player team along with a quartet of pre-season selections - defender Angelique Stannett, ruck Jess Good, midfielder Claudia Whitfort and forward Sarah Rowe. Whilst Lake St Clair are undefeated on top of the ladder and rank first in the ORFFW for points scored they rank in the bottom half of the comp for points conceded. The Devils go for all-out attack which has resulted in some shoot-outs, twice LSC have won by less than 40 points with both sides scoring 900+. This week’s opponent Katanning Krushers have a different philosophy and on the back of conceding 804.4 points per game which is the least in the ORFFW over the first five rounds are fourth on the ladder with four wins and one loss. Last round the Krushers recorded their highest score of the season with 907 in a victory against reigning premiers the Trailblazers. The Round 6 game with @FreoDockers Krushers hosting the Devils will give both sides a good indication of how their respective strategies stack up against another team in finals contention.
Pomona Wood Nymphs round 6 Out: Brooke Brown, Jade Ellenger In: Lulu Pullar, Jasmin Stewart New: Lulu Pullar DEF: Jodie Hicks, Lulu Pullar, Bianca Jakobsson (Eliza Shannon) MID: Ebony Marinoff, Mia King, Jenna Bruton, Tilly Lucas-Rodd (Ash Brazill -oop) RUCK: Lauren Pearce (Tahlia Gillard) FWD: Sabrina Frederick, Danielle Ponter, Courtney Hodder (Ashleigh Saint) INT: Rebecca Beeson, Jasmin Stewart (Erin McKinnon)
The Demons jump start their scoring with a Georgostathis 97 while the Nymphs @anthak are still pumping themselves up

Unofficial scores Lake St Clair Devils 1,029 defeated Katanning Krushers 817 In the battle between two opposing forces the ORFFW’s number one defense, @FreoDockers Katanning Krushers at home were unable to slow down the momentum of the leagues number one attack, the Lake St Clair Devils. LSC recorded their second highest score of the season with 1,029 to have a 212 point victory against the Krushers. Katanning midfielder Jamiee Lambert was best afield with 26 disposals and one goal to score 124 AFLW Fantasy points.
