I've got Galahs on 462/7 leading Jets 368/6. The Jets have some big names to come in Riddell, Anderson, Conway, O'Loughlin, Gould, Moody, and Thompson. While the Galahs will play O'Dwyer, Goldsworthy, Niamh Kelly (as Ham was out), Poppy Kelly, Foley and Wall.
Hi mate, The brains trust has discussed this and decided that we can’t accept Tamara Smith’s score because you missed lockout to add her. She’d already played her game. Your emergency Emonson had already played as well, but you’d already named her. So your emergency score will count instead of Tamara Smith.
With respect @anthak we have a longstanding default that if no team is named then last week's team rolls over. This extends to partial lockouts, so if no team is named prior to a thursday night then those players are locked in as they would be if the TS system were it functioning, despite not being "named" - which is effectively the case for Tam Smith who was part of the Round 4 side. For context I was naming partial teams in 2 leagues and completing my @aflwfantasy team trades while on my phone stuck in a queue at the pharmacy due to family being isolated due to illness while running 30 minutes late for a pre-arranged birthday celebration (for my birthday) with my parents. After finishing my private commitments I posted my full team and specified the full round team lineup (inconsistent with my earlier post) at 1:07am on my birthday. My view is that this is 100% the wrong call as my clear and obvious intention on the defensive was to field Tam Smith while replacing my weakest defender Emonson with EOD. If the board is ruling Tam Smith out then in my view there is a whole can of worms that are being opened which need to considered in the interest of consistency. These include the Dragons Round 5 team also being submitted on Thursday night inclusive of Parry and Gilroy but after their 715pm lockout, and also the Sirens side naming named with less than 13 players when that has always been a requirement, whether the 13 players are actually going to be playing or not. I also would reasonably have expected that on a regular Friday the board would have ruled, or reached out before the Friday evening game (whether 5pm or 7pm). Despite this week being structured differently due to Grand Final week given the Friday 715pm game was when my unused D5 was playing a heads up by 6pm Friday would have allowed a midround switch prior to the full lockout has an earlier ruling being made. Cheers TTH
Hi mate, sorry to hear of your clashes in commitments etc, I’ve been in a similar boat this last week or so and also similarly my birthday was yesterday haha - we must have similar stars you and I! The board has discussed this again in light of your comment and we stand by our decision on Tamara Smith. We see this situation as different to the Dragons example you’ve raised because Dragons only missed lockout by a little and we’re usually flexible, whereas you posted well after the game was finished. And it’s a fair point about the team rolling over in previous seasons, but we’re manual now, it’s different circumstances. It would be too much work for us to be checking if players have rolled over from the last week. We need to go by the posted teams this season without the TS functionality. I guess an exception would be if someone couldn’t get online to post their team at all, but everyone has been good with it so far this season so fingers crossed this continues to work out. It’s also very different to someone naming less than 13 players. Also, apologies for the delay in letting you know our original decision, but it takes time for the board to deliberate such decisions because we’ve all got busy lives too, so it was not practicable for us to notify you sooner than we did. We can’t allow people to change their team announcement a day after their players have played, even if seemingly inadvertent, and we didn’t think it was going to make a big difference because you had an emergency who was playing anyway.
Hi @anthak I appreciate the response although still totally disagree with reasoning and outcome that ignored the clear intent and in turn intervening to include a player who has been explicitly excluded in favour of one that was in last week's team and in no logical circumstances whatsoever could be interpreted as not in my starting XIII, and once again point out that there is no way in that any earlier team announcement was changed. Further to the expectations regarding team submission that now apply going forward this has prompted me to conclude that due to lack of time to properly manage and balance my fantasy footy commitments with real life ones I will need to (as of this message) hand back my ORFFW license effective immediately to concentrate on my coaching and admin duties in the Premier League and in @aflwfantasy I wish everyone the best of luck in 2024 and beyond. Cheers TTH
It will be sad not to have you in the league and for you to leave in such abrupt fashion mid season, but you need to do what’s best for you. I understand and can appreciate the decision, cause I’ve also had to cut down on my fantasy commitments recently. Do you know anyone who could take over the Mystix for the rest of the season (and beyond)?
Also, I knew Timboon were a chance to break through this week! Well done @Peter W ! Too good for me this week. You deserved a win after some tough losses in previous weeks.
Even now, I’ve just set my alarm for 3:30am to go catch a flight and I haven’t even packed yet. I only got home about 2.5 hours ago after being away for 4 days
