Just a heads up for all coaches that I am looking into the nuts and bolts of a knockout competition in the 2025 season involving 8 of the 10 Premier League teams.

I am proposing that rather than cutting off based on the 7 round home and away ladder from 2024 that we have a 3 week playoff between teams ranked 7-10 to decide the final 2 spots in the 2025 knockout, but that the 7 round ladder is used as originally intended to determine the first 4 picks in the pre-season draft order for 2025.

This means that the bottom 4 will have at least 2 more games to play for the season, so I would appreciate if everyone can like this post so that I know it has been read and I won't need to chase up anyone next week or the week after for their team lodgement.

Kickers @Chloe and Royals @Peter W have had their Port Adelaide and Pies players locked into the same onfield/emergency positions as per round 6

If they don't submit a team prior to the Friday AFLW game commencing their round 6 team will rollover unchanged

Early in the 3rd quarter the Islanders 7/447 are in front against the Kruisers 8/444 @FreoDockers

Majorca's coach is looking forward to attending their first AFLW game of season 2024 and seeing first hand how the Kruisers Bella Eddey and Montana Ham and the Islanders Sophia Hurley fare, with another 8 players (5-3 for the Islanders) facing off in the final 2 games.

Premier League Round 7 Review once agin brought to you by ChatGPT
Round 7 of the Premier League delivered some thrilling matchups and standout performances as teams battled for crucial points.

Llamas 826 def by Caribou 1038
The Caribou put on an impressive display against the Llamas, dominating the match with a commanding 212-point victory. With stellar contributions from their star players, the Caribou reinforced their position as a formidable force in the league. The Llamas struggled to find their rhythm and will need to regroup for the next round.

Dynamos 947 def All Stars 767
The Dynamos cruised to a solid victory over the All Stars, showcasing their offensive prowess. With consistent scoring and solid defense, the Dynamos never looked in danger of losing control of the match. The All Stars will need to reassess their strategy as they look to bounce back from this defeat.

Kruisers 690 def by Islanders 972
The Islanders delivered a strong performance against the Kruisers, winning comfortably by 282 points. The Kruisers struggled to keep pace and will need to make adjustments moving forward. Meanwhile, the Islanders' victory keeps them in the hunt for the top spots in the league.

Kickers 773 def by Royals 898
The Royals secured a decisive win against the Kickers, thanks to a balanced attack and effective gameplay. The Kickers fought hard, but ultimately, they couldn't match the Royals’ scoring power. The Royals continue to build momentum as they aim for a playoff spot.

    Vultures 913 def Storm 891
In a tightly contested match, the Vultures edged out the Storm with a narrow victory. The Vultures showcased a strong team effort, pulling together key performances that ultimately secured their win. The Storm fought valiantly but fell just short, however dismay turned to jubiliation as news filtered through that they had scored enough points to overtake the All Stars on points scored by 18 to secure the all important 6th position on the ladder.

    Summary
Round 7 was a mix of close calls and dominant performances, with the Caribou and Islanders particularly standing out as they secured the top 2 positions and a bye in Round 8, with only 15 points scored between them for the season. The Royals late charge left them on 3 wins but well adrift of 6th, while 15 points separated the Storm and the All Stars in the definition of a photo finish,

The final ladder for season 2024 is as follows

Congrats to the finalists and thanks to the non-finalists for providing a fun and exciting year 5 and first in the new ten team format.

Please note that the rules specified in the fixture thread indicate the reason why the Elimination Finals are 3rd vs 5th and 4th vs 6th, that being preference is given to maximising first time matchups rather than repeat of home and away games in finals to correct for the partial round robin fixture. Similar principles apply for the 7th-10th playoffs, acting as qualifiers for the 2025 Knockout Tournament.

Finals round threads will be started by @hoschke118 in Round 8, @FreoDockers in Round 9 and @Peter W in Round 10.

As the home teams for Round 8 can the Dynamos, Vultures, All Stars and Royals please provide in round or post game score checks.
