The pre-season draft has been completed and squads are ready to attack round1 in earnest, so let's check the matchups Eastern Park Demons vs Pomona Wood Nymphs Last years wooden spooners could be this years big improvers. With a solid draft haul and some big guns back from injury (Bonnie Toogood & Montanna McKinnon), the Dragons are looking to rise up the ladder in 2025. They face a tough task in round 1 however against last years runners up in the Wood Nymphs, lead by Fantasy #1 Ebony Marinoff who will again be looking to hit the heights of last year. Timboon Trailblazers vs Glenbrook Galahs The Trailblazers regain the services of Kiara "Turbo" Bowers for 2025, coupled with #1 draft pick Ash Centra and Lauren Young - these Trailblazers will be a different outfit to last year! The Galahs continue to be uniquely coached from overseas and this draft loaded up on defenders - could we see a more dour game plan this year? Bathurst Belles vs Lake St Clair Devils The Belles are stacked with young midfield talent this year and are hoping for a high octane brand of footy in 2025. They are facing the always dangerous Devils outfit which is built from a great mix of rookies and veterens who know how to get the job done -can the Devils get back into finals contention this year? Scone Sirens vs Junee Jets Hosting a fit ruck in Ally Morphett and some ultra consistent fantasy mids in Parker and Hatchard, the Sirens will win many admirers this season and will surely rack up some high scores. The Jets midfield was its strength last year with Ash McCarthy, Ally Anderson and Ash Riddell all capable of 100+ scores - this game could be a midfield shootout!! Como Comets vs Vivonne Bay Valkeries The rebranded Katanning Krushers outfit has relocated to Como and the coach is hoping this turns around the often mediocre performances of last year. It will be another tough start to 2025 however with the Valkeries looking to kick their season off with a win. Another team with a stacked midfield, this will be an interesting matchup with 4 vital points up for grabs Manildra Mystix vs Wongan Hills Wallabies Last years winner vs the new coach in the league. The Mystix have a new full time coach and Batfink is keen to hit the ground running. With great defensive depth and a solid midfield they will make life difficult for last years premiers. The Wallabies have again drafted craftily adding 3 great young rookies as they eye back to back premierships!
