Premier League season 2026 concludes with a mammoth Royals @Peter W vs Dynamos @WillH_VI Grand Final.

The Dynamos dropped a round 2 match to the Storm, while the Royals lost the following week by 19 points (1012-993) to their Grand Final opponents, however they both dominated season 2026.

With matching 8-1 records and only 75 season points scored separating them, their 6 and 7 game winning streaks underline 2 teams in the finest of form and both will be certain to put on a spectacle of attacking fantasy footy on the big stage.

In the Premier League’s first 6 seasons 4 clubs have reached the summit and a win for either of the Grand Final sides will make it 5 different premiers in the competitions first 7 seasons.

The Dynamos tasted grand final heartbreak in both 2023 and 2024 – either side of the 2024 preseason re-draft – while the Royals were gallant runners up the Caribou in last season’s big dance while also finishing runners up in the 2026 intercomp Grand Final earlier this season

Match winners abound on each line for both sides and as always it appears that any of the final 26 players can make the difference in what shapes up as a fierce and hardfought battle.

Best of luck to both sides.

In other news due to lack of time the All Stars game will be dropped from the week 12 schedule and with 8 Premier League sides qualified for the 2027 intercomp Kyoto Kruisers may join them this weekend if they can pull off a smash and grab against the ORFFW's Pomona Wood Nymphs in the final week of intercomp play-ins.

    Lagos Royals Grand Final side:

DEF: Serene Watson, Cambridge McCormick, Tamara Smith (Libby Birch)
MID: Kiara Bowers, Aisling McCarthy, Kate Hore, Britt Bonnici (Jaide Britton)
    RUC: Matilda Scholz (Georgia Campbell)
FWD: Chloe Molloy, Bonnie Toogood, Ella Boag (Jenna Bruton)
INT: Shineah Goody, Georgia Patrikios (Tarni Evans)

    IN: Georgia Patrikios
    OUT: Isabelle Pritchard

Shatted Izzy goes down for the biggest match of the season. All my fingers and toes are cross Patrikios can repeat last week's efforts. Hopefully a good game, and worst case scenario the Royals come second three times in 12 months....

I mean I can't even be mad at that. What a score @WillH_VI which it's scary to think what you would have got had it not been for Whitfort's injury!

Gotta be close to the score of the season (granted without looking too much). As soon as Fitzsimon was at 67 at HT as Hore was at 25 I knew it was well and truly done.

Barring any late adjustments, I believe the Grand Final result is as follows:

    Darmstadt:
    DEF: T.Lucas-Rodd (78), T.White (97), J.Ellenger (63)
    MID: E.Marinoff (142), E.McKenzie (97), M.Fitzsimon (127), A.Gaylor (105)
    RUC: A.Edmonds (81)
    FWD: C.Mullins (82), H.Harris (54), J.Parry (97)
    I/C: S.Conway (106), C.Whitfort (15)
    = 1144

    Lagos:
    DEF: S.Watson (81), C.McCormick (60), T.Smith (70)
    MID: K.Bowers (66), A.McCarthy (92), K.Hore (52), B.Bonnici (37)
    RUC: M.Scholz (106)
    FWD: C.Molloy (123), B.Toogood (71), E.Boag (33)
    I/C: S.Goody (68), G.Patrikios (52)

    = 911

Well done on a great season Peter! Can't believe how well my team popped off in the final, the sort of thing a girl can only dream of!

After last year's grand final and the intercomp grand final, the Royals are used to coming runners-up by now!

Absolutely well deserved. Would have loved to have given a better effort after quite a few 1000+ games this year, but wasn't to be. There's no one beating that kind of score on the big day, so kudos.
