Okay so this is essentially a bastardisation of P_L's thread. I couldn't work out how to promote it to a featured article. And the main page is where the ORFFL belongs. Damnit, that's where 3n4nsy belongs.

Putting all that aside, here are the dates for the upcoming trade, delistments, draft, trade periods:

    2016 Pre-Pre-SeasonDraft Trade Period - Now - Feb 26th 9pm AEDT
2016 Pre-Season Delistment Deadline (lists at no more than 20 player) - Feb 27th 9pm AEDT
2016 Pre-Season Draft - Feb 29th 0:00AM (or earlier the night of the 28th if you want)
    2016 Post-Pre-Season Draft Trade Period - End of draft - 23rd March 9pm AEDT

?

If an auto-pick should occur, who should that player be?

Ummmm, so during this rain delay...anyone have any thoughts on either:

      a) starting the draft earlier next time
      b) shortening the pick time limit
      c)something else?

I would support making the time limit 12 hours instead of 24.
Surely it's not that hard to check in more frequently than once a day.

I have given a pick list to walesy, because I am heading to the NAB3 match today with my tin lids, followed by a side-trip to the carnival rides at Moomba.

I fear the Savages and the Disappointments will be playing a couple of guys short in week 1 with both teams having their final picks in the 100's. Just don't see the draft getting done in time unless we can arrange some suitable time where we all get online at the same time and complete a few rounds at once like that very first draft all those moons ago.

I think the same thing reduce the time limit. This draft hasn't been as much fun with the slowness of it and It does put a bit of a dampener on things. I haven't been the fastest drafter over the years but I put it to all coaches to try and be a bit respectful to the draft process. It may not be ideal but sending a list in with a few picks maybe 3-4 picks out from your pick shouldn't be too much of an issue. Especially now with timing getting out of hand. This is not a paid service that we are buying it relies on goodwill. That goodwill is slowly getting eroded and everyone had said they want to play. So I hope we all as coaches can just pick up our games for what will be another great season.

I apologise in advance tino as I've never met you and I really don't mean to offend but over the years you have been particularly slow and it's stalled on your pick again now. So I am singling you out saying I'd love to hear from you on this forum and Can you come up with a suggestion that might help.

The other idea is if after 12 or even 6 hours for rest of this draft if you miss your pick instead of auto pick you pick best available player when you get back to the draft. Not sure if that brings more issues to it.

I do want to take this opportunity to say a few thanks to the different coaches who have added what they could to this experience. I'm not the best banter person and sadly haven't watched too much footy this year to even say much but have enjoyed reading thoughts and reviews. Getting that spreadsheet port has been particularly helpful , and the draw up bgt to name a couple of the many things done. Anyway I for one hope coaches take a bit more respect and care with the orffl and we get this draft done do we can get some trading before launch. This preseason has been the first I haven't traded and I hope to remedy that :)

      Really appreciate this post.

I've bolded what to me is the most important bit - at least practically speaking.

If you know you're going to be away from the internet for say 5 hours, and your pick is coming up within the next 5 picks, please send someone a list (and it also helps to make sure that that person is going to be online at that time, yanno by enquiring first).

A lot of us put in a lot of time to try and make this run smoothly (or just run at all), and it's kind of a shitty feeling to feel like it's being taken for granted.

      Ingredients for good banter:-

Step1 - say anything football related

Step2 - 1234nsy will tell you he knows better

      Step3 - repeat

      :D
