    For the 2013/14 season, the set up is as follows:

    Promotion:
    The 6 that get promoted from Div 3 are the following: 2 grand final teams; then excluding 2 gf teams, the two teams with best 'points for' during our regular season; then excluding those 4 already promoted, the 2 best ranked teams at end of our regular season.

    The 4 going up from Div 2 to Div 1 will be the two grand final teams, and (excluding the two GF teams) the team with the best 'points for' and (excluding said Points For winner) the best ranked team at end of our regular season.

    The 2 teams going up from Div 1 to Premier will be the GF winning team, and the team with the best Reg season 'Points For' (excluding GF winner of course)

    and for relegation:
    The teams being relegated from Premier will be the bottom team at the end of the regular season, and (excluding the team with the worst reg season record) the team with the lowest 'Points For' at the end of our regular season.

    The teams being relegated from Division 1 to 2 will be the bottom two ranked teams at the end of our reg season, and (excluding the two bottom ranked teams) the two teams with the lowest 'Points For' at the end of the reg season.
    T The six that get relegated from Div 2 are the six that don't make the finals.
    ** Any teams that make the finals are exempt from relegation.
    ** And the get-out wildcard clause if you do happen to find yourself in the relegation zone (Not applicable in Div 2, due to previous exemption).
    - if a team wins the minor premiership (the league splits into two finals systems like SuperCoach) they are exempt from relegation, and the lowest ranked at end of regular season will be relegated (that already isnt being relegated of course).

    Three proposals for next season: * 3 move between Prem and Div1 - allows for more opportunity to get in and out of Premier (this proposal is based on feedback from a couple of weeks ago) * 5 move between Div 2 and Div 3 - allows for wildcard to be in play in Div 2.
    * The wildcard should be simplified to: Anyone who wins all 3 games during playoffs/finals is exempt from relegation.

    Proposal for the 2016/17 season from Walesy: One idea that I like (Maybe to think about for next year), is to structure the following.

    Premier league

    8 stay
    4 move down to

    1st Division.

    4 move up
    2 stay
    8 move down into

    4 conference leagues.

    Of which, 2 move up into the 1st division.

    Of course, would require more leagues. :D But I think it provides a good level of ability to move up through to the premier league without being too punishing on the guys already at the pointy end.

Consensus was that all of these proposals be adopted for 14/15 season. See thread here:http://tooserious.net/Blog/tabid/90/Post/7246/TS-Fantasy-NBA Ill post new relegation rules below

Also, 2 other proposals. I think Walesy's covers them, but I'll post to be considered further. Rad_E_Cool: I'm happy with that. I do think that promotion/relegation should be equal amongst all leagues in the tier (so like 3 up and 3 down in all except obviously where going up or down is impossible), but I am cool with the amended version as an alternative
    dabombers: How bout we add a wild card to div 2/3 that the premiers of both those leagues gets a one week matchup at the end of the season for a chance to skip up to premier.

    this is how the leagues will work for the '16/17 season:

    All leagues still with 12 teams in each.

    • A Premier League
    • A Division 1 league
    • Any other leagues as conference leagues, could have 1, 2, 3, 4 or any ammount of these leagues which sit at the same level of the hierarchy and all feed into the Division 1 league through promotions.

    We do still need to work out how many teams move between the leagues at the end of the season, but we can work that out prior to the '16/17 season.

    For this season:
    It was decided that the promotion and relegation setup for the '15/16 season is the following:

    Keep the promotion/relegation rules between Premier and Division 1 exactly the same as last season.
    5 teams move from Division 1, down into the Conference leagues (allows for the wildcard to still come into play)
    4 teams move up from Division 2 into Division 1 (same as last season)
    1 team moves up from Division 3 into Division 1 (Grand final winner)

    Just got an email titled "Your ESPN Fantasy Basketball League Has Been Reactivated", I am assuming I ignore it as the league makeup will change even though I'll be staying in the nub zone?

    yes mate, thats right.

    I have just activated the 4 leagues and Ive put the following note on the league homepage of each:

    Please note that you may not be in the league that you will end up in. We still need to move teams around that were relegated or promoted.

    Keep in mind that there is no use updating your draft list until you are in your correct league.

    We will email everyone a link once we get a thread going at TS where you can register your interest for the new season. Once we know who is playing again, then we'll work out the leagues.

    Just in case I miss the thread (or don't get around to it in time when it's up) you can count me in again this season mate - thoroughly enjoyed it last season and having the interest in it actually whet the appetite to start following NBA a bit more again :D

    Noted.
    However, there's still at least two more seasons of the ORFFA with the "roaming bye" for you to revel in.

    Some people have asked me about this so I should clarify in this thread. We decided before the season to stick with the same promotion/relegation as last season.

    So this is it:

    new system for the 2018/19 season.
    We need to change due to new league sizes and finals system...

    Premier League
    3 teams will be relegated:
    the bottom team at the end of the regular season;
    and (excluding the team with the worst reg season record) the two teams with the lowest 'Points For' at the end of our regular season.

    Division 1
    3 teams will be promoted:
    the GF winning team;
    the team with the best regular season 'Points For' (excluding GF winner of course);
    And (excluding 2 already promoted teams) the team with the best win/loss record during regular season (tie breaker is total points scored).

    5 teams will be relegated:
    the bottom two ranked teams at the end of our reg season;
    and (excluding the two bottom ranked teams) the three teams with the lowest 'Points For' at the end of the reg season.

    Division 2
    5 teams will be promoted:
    the champion of each league;
    the team with best record at end of regular season in each league;
    and excluding the 4 already promoted, the team with the best points for - can be from either conference

    Exemptions:
    ** Any teams that make the playoffs/finals are exempt from relegation.
    ** And the get-out wildcard clause if you do happen to find yourself in the relegation zone:
    - Anyone who wins all games during playoffs/finals is exempt from relegation; and the lowest ranked at end of regular season will be relegated in their stead (who isnt already being relegated of course).
