Sit down, shut up, close your eyes, hold out your hand, get excited. Its MUSO Round! Each year the ORFFA's Muso Round sees the league celebrate the great Australian (and New Zealand) artists that populate our Spotify lists and sometimes even play their own musical instruments. So let's put on the headphones, drown out the background noise and annoy the person you are sitting next to on public transport by playing your favourite "local" musical artist until all of our ears bleed. Spelunkers side to take on Lenny's marsupials. It's getting very thin on the selection table! Def: Bayley Fritsch (OOP), Riley Bonner, Liam Duggan, Aaron Francis, Andrew Brayshaw (OOP) Mid: Marcus Bontempelli, Zac Merrett, Jack Bowes, Rory Atkins (Rhylee West) Ruck: John Ceglar Fwd: Sam Petrevski-Seton, Jack Higgins, Tarryn Thomas (OOP), Nick Blakey Int: Sydney Stack, Oliver Florent Headlining the entertainment will be local band Luca Brasi, running off a few hits from their 'By A Thread' album, which sums up our player availability right now!
Misfits squad selected to take on the Uglies looks remarkably like this: Matchday entertainment will feature The Chantoozies We tried to get Kylie Minogue but she got angry and said we had to stop stalking her, we took it as a maybe next time...
Cradle Mountain Devils Round 11 team Out: D Thomas (omitted), T Membrey (omitted) In: A Naughton, T Lynch Defenders - D Rich, M Hurley, N Vlastuin, A Naughton (P Seedsman) Midfielders - S Pendlebury, D Zorko, J Hopper, J Steele (J Redden) Rucks – T English Forwards – R Marshall, T Lynch (Ade), J Gresham, L Breust (T Membrey) Int: D Zaharakis, D Heppell (H Himmelberg) Two changes for Cradle Mountain’s Round 11 game against the Larrikin Lagoon Lefties with defender Dale Thomas and forward Tim Membrey both omitted after scoring 63 and 99 respectively. The Cradle Mountain match committee thought it was an opportune time to play Aaron Naughton in position as a defender in the final game before the mid-season break and Tom Lynch returns from a hamstring injury to take his place in the forward line against his former side. Membrey is very unlucky to be omitted after scoring 99 in his first game of the season, has been named the forward emergency and has travelled to the Lagoon with Lynch in doubt.
FOUR weeks the cows have been at least ONE light in defence.* This week, so many choices. We may even field 15 players. D - J McGovern, J McVeigh, R Burton, N Newman (B Williams) M - N Fyfe, D Prestia, B Crouch, J Dunkley R - R O'Brien F - M Robinson, T Papley, B Parfitt, T McLean I - M Hibberd, H Morrison (D Gardiner) I wish all teams would clearly identify players when brothers or namesakes are selected. * In case you missed it, that's cfc 4 : the arse 1; in the Europa League final.
Hold the f$&king phone! Lefties have a RUCK! And 15 warm bodies to boot. Def - McKenzie, Cole, Allen, Hardwick Mid - Dumont, Brayshaw, Cousins, Phillips Ruck - Smith Fwd - Worpel, Simpkin, Langford, Gowers IC - Clark, Perryman Kicking off proceedings to get the crowd jumping will be good mates Spiderbait with the club anthem “Footy” followed by none other than The perennial Midnight Oil. In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Head Injuries, a tight set of classics from this seminal LP. @dmandrews is open to setting up some halftime entertainment on the Goon main stage. Bring your best mate.
From a quick look at the scores, mate, fair to say we're in no danger of breaking any scoring records. At least the beers are cold.
@DaveH - Brown scores 107, that's odd. Lyons goes for 127, odder still. Walters goes 127, odd but why worry. Cogs goes for 207, words fail me. 1028/10 plays my "paltry" 823/9. Well done. And I mean it, the cows are well done. Pity, because I do like a rare steak.
As there is no midseason trade thread yet I will post here and re-post later. With the ORFFA MSD pool looking speculative and underwhelming beyond the first 5 or 6 picks the Nuffers are seeking to trade in MIDS Averaging 85 plus, DEF or FWD averaging 75 plus and ideally players brought in will be in the 21-26 year bracket and be best 22 for their AFL club. Slightly lower averages would be OK for 21 year olds. Any sub 28yo ruck with at least 7 games played in 2019 would also be considered if the price is not too steep. Our MSD and PSD picks are all on the market and one or more of our 1990 birthdate players - NicNat, Broadbent, Ebert and Dixon - would be considered for the right price. The Cockatoos 1st Round PSD pick is indicatively #7 based on the current ORFFA ladder and is highly likely to fall in the #7-#11 range. I am unlikely to want to take 2 picks in the top 12 to the 2020 PSD. Picks held prior to Midseason trades MSD - Devils 1st Rounder (#17), Nuffers 2nd Rounder (#21), Spelunkers 3rd Rounder (#38), Nuffers 3rd Rounder (#39) PSD - Nuffers 1st rounder, Cockatoos 1st Rounder, Nuffers 2nd Rounder, Nuffers 4th Rounder
