Welcome to week 2 of the Premier League. Everyone seems to have come through Round 1 relatively unscathed although for some teams there are some issues on the injury front, including the Las Vegas Legends who unfortunately allowed Dana Hooker to make the sandwiches last week, resulting in an end of season foot injury…

I have heard however that all boarding passes have been stamped and players and coaches are in readiness to fly to their next destination… and round 2 looks like this:

    Las Vegas Legends @Pearcey47 (1-0) vs Lagos Royals @Peter W (0-1)

The Legends return home victorious to play their first game in front of their enthusiastic crowd. Coach @Pearcey47 has to find a midfield replacement for Hooker although Ellie Blackburns’ 102 did help. The Royals on the other hand are looking for their first win of the season and they think a 12,401km road trip to bond the team is just what is needed. They were well lead by the smooth moving Georgia Patrikios and her 102 and will look to others to lift their games to record the W.

    Kyoto Krushers @FreoDockers (0-1) vs Canberra Conservatives @bkp130 (0-1)

The only battle of two winless sides from Round 1 sees the Aussie team making the shortest journey this week, a mere 7,933km hop to Japan. The Conservatives were the unluckiest team in the comp last week, losing by just the solitary point through no fault of Britt Bonnici’s 100 points and all reports coming out of the nations’ capital says it has fired up the Estimates this week. In contrast the Krushers were, in the words of @TheTassieHawk – “Disappointing” and they have plenty of work to do this week with more support for Bri Davey, 96 points required…

    Stuttgart Storm @TheTassieHawk (1-0) vs Lima Llamas @hoschke118 (1-0)

And this sees the battle of two sides with 1-0 scorelines. With the Storm recording the highest score in Round 1 of 808 off the back of Alyce Parker’s bullocking 105 and playing their first game at home, they go into this match with slight favouritism and a rabid crowd in Stuttgart. While the Llamas recorded a fantastic first up win, they will need to have everyone primed and their midfield will need to stand up this week to support forward Jasmine Garner’s 85.

    Vancouver Vixens @dmandrews (1-0) vs Korean Kickers @Chloe (0-1)

The Vixens started their campaign with a nail biting road win and will be looking to back up their strong performance with their first home game. There will be a frosty reception for the Kickers who failed to fire a shot with the exception of Kiara Bowers who scored 132 or 18.5% of the team total! She will need some assistance from the rest of her team if the Kickers are to overrun a strong Vixens lineup, lead by Emma Kearney’s 105.

Don’t forget to put your teams in nice and early in readiness for Friday night’s opening match…

In response to the Llamas team announcement the Storm selectors have made 1 change to the Round 1 team with Lucy McEvoy replacing Brooke Lochland for the match at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Stuttgart.

The Storm have posted 739 all out in our round 2 match against the Llamas @hoschke118, while the visitors have reached 8/505.

Sunday sees Lima fielding both Houghton and Gore before the trio of Swanson, Bates and Conway complete proceedings in Monday in what is shaping up as an almost certain Llamas win.

Following Sunday's action the Storm's lead has been whittled back to 134 points, with Swanson, Bates and Conway running out in the Monday night match to earn the 4 points and take Lima @hoschke118 to a 2-0 start to the season.

The battle between the Vixens and Kickers looks like it is going down to the wire.

Two Vixens named in the 13 player team club captain Chelsea Randall and ruck Sharni Norder were late withdrawals due to injury with their replacements being Vaomua Laloifi (32 points) and Lauren Bella (45) respectively.

Vancouver Vixens 574/10 @ 57.4 with B Smith, C Hodder and A McCarthy to play tomorrow evening

Korean Kickers are 671/12 @ 55.9 with M Bowen the sole Kicker in action tomorrow.

The battle of the midfields has been the highlight of the contest so far with the Kickers having a narrow advantage 248-239 on this line with three of four players on the midfield line for each team back in the club rooms.

    Best Players
    Vixens - J Lambert (89), E O’Dea (78), E Phillips (76) and E Kearney (74)
    Kickers – K Bowers (114), K Paxman (84), B Moody (72) and R Dillon (64)

    Hopefully my maths are correct:

    Las Vegas: 642 + Anderson & Arnell
    Lagos: 600 + Grider

Legends looking to improve to 2-0, whilst the Royals could start the season 0-2.

It's halftime in the final match and Emily Bates is yet to touch the ball, casting some serious doubts over whether the Llamas can match the score of the Storm

It has tightened up but Conway 69 plus Swanson 35 and Bates 10 to 3QT has the Llamas needing only 21 points in the last which I reckon they will get by midway though the quarter unless the injury gods strike.

Will have to wait for the official results for confirmation but for the unofficial result I have got the Vancouver Vixens winning their second thriller in a row. My calculation is Vixens 737 defeating the Korean Kickers 724 by 13 points.

In the game this evening Vixens trio Aisling McCarthy (73), Courtney Hodder (61) and Belinda Smith (29) scored 163 points whilst Korean Kickers midfielder Mikayla Bowen scored 53 points and was the only representative for her team.

Got the calculator out @bkp130 and trusting that the right buttons have been pushed I think the Kruisers have beaten the Conservatives 898 to 795 in a free flowing high scoring encounter!

Yeah first glance I thought that you might have it. Great second week for the conservatives despite now being 0-2
