For the penultamate round before the GWFFPL Grand Final we have a cracking line-up of 4 head to head match-ups, with 1 in particular likely to be very prominent in shaping the Grand Final contenders.

    Lets get to the match-ups:

    Canberra Conservatives @bkp130 (8th at 0-5) v Lagos Royals @Peter W (7th at 1-4)
The Conservatives are still searching for their first win of the season and their best chance looks likely this week against the 7th placed Royals. If the Conservatives can get Conti back in to the team, Smith back to her early season form and Bonnici to continue her stellar play they may be able to post their first win but the Royals high-scoring trio of Patrikios, Marinoff and Hanks will be doing their best to keep the team from Canberra winless.

    Kyoto Kruisers @FreoDockers (6th at 2-3) v Vancouver Vixens @dmandrews (2nd at 4-1)
The Vixens will be looking to right the ship after dropping their first game (and a position on the ladder) last week at the hands of the Stuttgart Storm. The Kruisers will be trying their best to shake up the contenders and will lean heavily on Davey, Bruton and Prespakis to put the score on the board against the Vixens star-studded midfield of Lambert, Phillips and Kearney.

    Lima Llamas @hoschke118 (4th at 3-2) v Las Vegas Legends @Pearcey47 (5th at 3-2)
This should be a cracking contest between two teams that are seperated by a measly 20 total points for on the ladder. The Legends have done a good job staying afloat with 3 of their draft picks in Brazill, Morrison and Hooker only playing 1 game between them for the season. The Llamas have some injury troubles of their own with Jamie Stanton and Olivia Purcell recently suffering season-ending injuries. This could be anyone's game.

    Stuttgart Storm @TheTassieHawk (1st at 4-1) v Korean Kickers @Chloe (3rd at 3-2)
The Storm will be looking to solidify their chance at an inaugural Grand Final place this week if they can hold off the in-form Kickers. The Kickers have won three on the trot and will be hoping to keep that run going. With Kiara Bowers leading the team anything is possible. The Storm will be hoping that Alyce Parker will be fit to play in this very important contest, and will be leaning heavily on the Roos pair of Riddell and Ashmore to get them over the line.

The best the Kruisers can do at this point in the season is make life difficult for those above us on the ladder and it starts with the Vixens this weekend. One forced change with Mimi Hill doing her ACL.

Def: Hannah Priest, Janelle Cuthbertson, Kate Lutkins (Alison Brown)
Mid: Bri Davey, Maddy Prespakis, Jenna Bruton, Amy McDonald (Jess Fitzgerald)
    Ruck: Mim Strom (Celine Moody)
Fwd: Kate Surman, Ebony Antonio, Darcy Vescio (Jordan Ivey)
IC: Alison Drennan, Mia King (Hannah Button)

    In: Kate Surman, Mia King
    Out: Aishling Sheridan, Mimi Hill

    Lagos Royals:

D: Natalie Grider, Jess Hosking, Stacey Livingstone (Jess Duffin)
M: Maddison Gay, Georgia Patrikios, Lily Mithen, Ebony Marinoff (Eliza McNamara)
    R: Emma King (Montana McKinnon)
F: Caitlin Gould, Tyla Hanks, Eden Zanker (Ashleigh Woodland)
INT: Ellie McKenzie, Catherine Phillips (Tiah Haynes)

Really over having a stacked midfield and then players at either end letting me down

    Vancouver Vixens Round 6 team

    No changes

Def: Chelsea Randall, Kerryn Harrington, Belinda Smith (Maddy Collier)
Mid: Jamiee Lambert, Emma Kearney, Erin Phillips, Hayley Miller (Hannah Dunn)
    Ruc: Sharni Norder (Lauren Bella)
Fwd: Kate Hore, Aisling McCarthy, Georgia Gee (Tayla Harris)
Int: Elise O’Dea, Courtney Hodder (Sophie Van De Heuvel)

After suffering their first defeat of the season at the hands of a white hot Stuttgart Storm outfit the Vanvouver Vixens have retained the same line-up for their Round 6 game on the road against the Kyoto Kruisers and will be looking to improve their team defense after conceding 975 points to the Storm.

More injury trouble is making any chance of a run at the top 2 look pretty slim for the Llamas. Nikki Gore went down with a season-ending injury and has been replaced by Katie-Jayne Grieve on the Llamas list.

DEF: Elle Bennetts, Emma Swanson, Tarni White (Shelley Heath)
MID: Jasmine Garner, Alicia Eva, Emily Bates, Katie-Jayne Grieve (Najwa Allen)
    RUC: Tahlia Hickie (Jessica Allan)
FOR: Gemma Houghton, Chloe Sheer, Sophie Conway (Abbie McKay)
INT: Aasta O'Connor, Kalinda Howarth (Lucy Single)

Out: Jamie Stanton (injured), Najwa Allen (omitted)
    In: Katie-Jayne Grieve, Kalinda Howarth

As the Storm vs Kickers @Chloe match pauses for half time the home team leads by 125 points but trails marginally on average 8/574 to 6/449.

With the Kickers maestro Kiara Bowers playing in the early Sunday game the Storm expect to be trailing further on average by the end of today but run out with the aim of maintaining a triple digit lead on the scoreboard before the expected Kickers barrage on Monday with Meg McDonald, Bowen and Crocket-Grills holding a numerical advantage against the Storm's Bec Webster.

The Royals responded to a public bake from @Peter W with the Premier Leagues highest ever tally, an average of a tick over 80 points per player, which could be a long-standing mark and amazingly it came from the comps youngest side.
