    Hello!

It's round 2 preview time. It sure is hard to write these without sounding pretty harsh at times, so I'm sorry about that haha

    Korean Kickers @Chloe (0-1) vs Vancouver Vixens @dmandrews (1-0)
==> last time they met Vancouver won by 11

Kiara Bowers has started 2022 exactly how she finished 2021, at the top of the competition. But she'll need a bit more help from some of her teammates if the Kickers are to overcome the minor premiers and avoid a 0-2 start.

    Lagos Royals @Peter W (0-1) vs FKA Canberra Conservatives @CamCamMan88 (1-0)
==> last time they met Lagos topped 1000 and won by 263 points

The off-field uncertainty hasn't stopped the former Canberra team from starting well in 2022, and with the Royals coming close to victory against the Vixens in round 1, this should be a competitive match.

Lima Llamas (1-0) vs Stuttgart Storm @TheTassieHawk (1-0)
==> last time they met Lima won by 17

An early top-of-the-table match which looks like it could be another close one between these sides after the Llamas' unlikely win over the eventual premiers last season.

Las Vegas Legends @Pearcey47 (0-1) vs Kyoto Kruisers @FreoDockers (0-1)
==> last time they met Kyoto won by 115

A devastating start to the season for the Kruisers with players Bri Davey and Kate Lutkins being 2 of the 3 big ACL injuries of the weekend. Las Vegas were a bit behind the pace of their round 1 opponent Stuttgart, so a win would be important for either of these teams.

FRIDAY TEAMS: Five changes apiece with BIG outs for Dees, Tigers (womens.afl)

2 major pieces of AFLW news today, and whilst this is in comparison relatively less important it greatly impacts our possible and potential methods of dealing with the major news.

    ------

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DEES AND TIGERS HAVE MADE A LOT OF CHANGES THROUGH COVID AND INJURY. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO BE ACROSS THESE CHANGES.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT WE EXPECT TO NEED TO CONSIDER TOPUPS FOR SOME OR ALL ORFFW SQUADS.

AT THIS STAGE THERE WILL BE NO CONSIDERATION GIVEN FOR COVERING A DONUT CAUSED BY LEAVING A DEES OR TIGERS PLAYER OUT OR YOUR PREMIER LEAGUE SQUAD OF 18 NAMED (there >>) TooSerious (<< there) HOWEVER YOU MAY NAME THEM AS A PREMIER LEAGUE EMERGENCY PROVIDED YOU HAVE ALL ONFIELD POSTIONS COVERED IN YOUR PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM TO THE BEST OF YOUR KNOWLEDGE

FURTHER DEES AND TIGERS SHOULD BE NAMED IN THEIR NATURAL LINE (ie DEF, MID, FWD or RUCK) INSTEAD OF ON THE IC. THIS GREATLY REDUCES THE RISK OF NEEDING TO FIELD OUT OF POSITION PLAYERS OR HAVING TO BRING IN UNNECESSARY TOPUPS TO YOUR SQUAD.

2nd LASTLY, WE NEED TO KNOW THAT PEOPLE HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD THIS, PLEASE LOGON AND LIKE THIS POST SO THAT WE KNOW WHO MAY HAVE MISSED OUT READING IT AND CAN BE FOCUSSED IN FOLLOWING UP IF WE FEEL IT IS NEEDED

LASTLY IF THERE ARE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE POST THEM BELOW UNLESS IT IS ABOUT WHAT OUR ROUND 2 AFLW MATCH POSTPONEMENT RESPONSE PLAN IS, WE WILL POST MORE ON THAT ASAP SO PLEASE BE PATIENT

    --------

    @FreoDockers @Pearcey47 @Peter W @dmandrews @hoschke118 @Chloe

    plus @CamCamMan88

    Hello

    Hope this is right!

Isabel Huntington is delisted due to LTI for the remainder of 2022, Canberra therefore selects Eloise Jones (FWD) of the Adelaide Crows to join the squad.

    Thanks

    Lagos Royals:

    Def:
Jess Duffin, Elizabeth Keaney, Stacey Livingstone
Mids: Tyla Hanks, Lily Mithen, Catherine Phillips, Ebony Marinoff
Fwds: Cora Staunton, Charlie Rowbottom, Emma King (Darcy Vescio)
    Ruck: Caitlin Gould
    INT: Elise O'Dea, Kim Rennie

IN: Cora Staunton (FWD EMG to FWD), Charlie Rowbottom (MID EMG to FWD), Kim Rennie (RUCK EMG to INT), Stacey Livingstone (DEF EMG to DEF)
OUT: Maddison Gay (COVID), Nat Grider (Dogs' COVID), Dakota Davidson (Injured), Darcy Vescio (Ruby Schleicher's pocket)

Not playing: Maddison Gay, Nat Grider, Dakota Davidson, Phoebe Monahan, Georgia Patrikios, Ellie McKenzie, Courtney Rowley.

First off, screw COVID. Losing Grider and Gay hurts a lot. Lucky we've got the depth who are all playing well, but it's been well and truly tested her, with Davidson out for long, but not long enough.

    Lima Llamas (prior to topups)
DEF: Tarni White, Annie Lee, Amy Franklin (no emg)
MID: Alicia Eva, Emma Swanson, Jamie Stanton, Jasmine Garner (no emg)
    RUC: Mim Strom (Viv Saad)
FOR: Kalinda Howarth, Gemma Houghton, Chloe Sheer (no emg)
INT: Eliza McNamara, Haneen Zreika (no emg)

In: Howarth, Zreika, McNamara, Franklin (if I'm lucky)
    Out: Bates, Bennetts, Hickie, Brown

Looking pretty dicey. 6 llamas not playing due to the rescheduling was always going to be hard to cover

Kyoto is in a reasonable position in being able to field a side (Covid pending) for round 2 against the Legends. Both teams appear to be decimated so it could be a case of last girl standing come Sunday afternoon....

Def: Jordan Ivey, Janelle Cuthbertson, Hannah Priest (no emergency)
Mid: Maddy Prespakis, Amy McDonald, Jenna Bruton, Meagan Kiely (Hannah Button)
    Ruck: Parris Laurie (no emergency)
Fwds: Ebony Antonio, Charlie Thomas, Kate Surman (Kate Shierlaw)
Int: Alison Drennan, Kaitlyn Ashmore (Abbie McKay)

    In: Meagan Kiely, Jordan Ivey
Out: Bri Davey (ACL), Kate Lutkins (ACL)

    Best of luck everyone!

OK thanks folks, we have decided to allow for potential topups for Premier League Round 2 on the following basis

Llamas - @hoshke118 - North Melbourne Free Agents Only
    http://tooserious.net/forum/stats.p...=FA&team=NTH&tsLeagueId=22&sort=ave&desc=desc

The Llamas may select a maximum of 5 Free Agents for a 4 day contract. Of these 5 topups they may name whatever number allows them to field a squad of 16 players maximum for Round 2. 17 or more can be fielded provided there are no topups.

Storm - TTH - West Coast Free Agents only
    http://tooserious.net/forum/stats.p...=FA&team=WCE&tsLeagueId=22&sort=ave&desc=desc

The Storm may select a maximum of 4 Free Agents for a 4 day contract. Of these 4 topups they may name whatever number allows them to field a squad of 16 players maximum for Round 2. 17 or more can be fielded provided there are no topups.

Canberra - @CamCamMan88 - Adelaide Free Agents only
    http://tooserious.net/forum/stats.p...=FA&team=ADE&tsLeagueId=22&sort=ave&desc=desc

The Canberra* side may select a maximum of 4 Free Agents for a 4 day contract. Of these 4 topups they may name whatever number allows them to field a squad of 16 players maximum for Round 2. 17 or more can be fielded provided there are no topups.

    Royals - @Peter W - Fremantle Free Agents only
    http://tooserious.net/forum/stats.p...=FA&team=FRE&tsLeagueId=22&sort=ave&desc=desc

The Royals side may select a maximum of 3 Free Agents for a 4 day contract. Of these 3 topups they may name whatever number allows them to field a squad of 16 players maximum for Round 2. 17 or more can be fielded provided there are no topups.

Legends - @Pearcey47 - Suns Free Agents only
    http://tooserious.net/forum/stats.p...=FA&team=GCS&tsLeagueId=22&sort=ave&desc=desc

The Legends side may select a maximum of 3 Free Agents for a 4 day contract. Of these 3 topups they may name whatever number allows them to field a squad of 16 players maximum for Round 2. 17 or more can be fielded provided there are no topups.

Kruisers - @FreoDockers - Giants Free Agents only
    http://tooserious.net/forum/stats.p...=FA&team=GWS&tsLeagueId=22&sort=ave&desc=desc

The Kruisers may select a maximum of 2 Free Agents for a 4 day contract. Of these 2 topups they may name whatever number allows them to field a squad of 16 players maximum for Round 2. 17 or more can be fielded provided there are no topups.

The Vixens and Kickers did not have enough players out due to the postponement to warrant any topup assistance.

It is highly recommended that all topups be nominated following Sunday teams being named on Saturday night, squad additions then being made by the relevant coaches and lineups updated prior to the Round lockout at the commencement of the first match on Sunday.

Topups must be clearly nominated in the thread below.

Please make sure that listed players are named ahead of topups wherever possible as they are a last resort.

    Good luck for Round 2.

The Storm have officially signed WCE players Niamh Kelly, Ashlee Atkins, Tayla Bresland, Kellie Gibson and Andrea Gilmore on short term contracts

The Storm selection committee have subsequently named the side to take on the Llamas @hoschke118 as we enjoy the first away trip to South America and in particular the spectacular 3 Wise Men festival on the streets of this amazing city.

There are 5 changes due to the postponement of the Bulldogs vs Lions, injuries and HSP
    • Georgia Garnett replaces the HSP impacted Casey Sheriff
    • Aine Tighe replaces Grace Egan who copped a Rd 1 battering
    • Ashlee Atkins, Stella Reid and Steph Cain replace Orla O'Dwyer, Brooke Lochland and Kristy Lamb (all postponed)

Note this team is subject to change, once Sunday AFLW line-ups are announced

Def = TLR, Watson, Garnettt (Bresland topup)
Mid = Parker, RIddell, Cann, Webster (N Kelly topup)
Fwd = Atkins (topup), S Reid, McEvoy ( Kellie Gibson topup)
Ruck = Lauren Pearce (no emg)
IC = Tighe Gavalas (no emg)

2nds - are on the bye
Injured/HSP - Sherriff, Egan, T Brown, Newton, O'Dwyer, Lochland, Lamb, Georgostathis and Koenen

postponed game topups - Niamh Kelly (Mid Emg), Ashlee Atkins (F1), Tayla Bresland (Def Emg), Kellie Gibson (Fwd Emg) and Andrea Gilmore (unused)

My team at this stage (effectively three top-ups are emergencies).

Vancouver Vixens 2022 Round 2 team

    Out: Courtney Hodder (omitted)
    In: Emma Kearney

Def: Chelsea Randall, Kerryn Harrington, Maddy Collier (Nicola Barr)
Mid: Emma Kearney, Jaimee Lambert, Hayley Miller, Aisling McCarthy (Courtney Hodder)
    Ruc: Lauren Bella (Olivia Fuller)
Fwd: Erin Phillips, Kate Hore, Eden Zanker (Georgia Gee)
Int: Stephanie Cain, Olivia Vesely (Grace Kelly)

After Emma Kearney missed Round 1 due to HS Protocols the Vixens have dodged the COVID and injury chaos for Round 2 teams with Kearney being brought into the side for Courtney Hodder who has been omitted.

Halfway through the 2nd quarter the Storm 6/320 leads Lima 4/165 @hoschke118

It is 3 v 2 and 2 apiece in the early games before Lima's quarter of Eva, Strom, Houghton and Zreika take the field to battle the Storm's Garnett, Parker and Tighe in the final stanza.

Las Vegas @Pearcey47 have signed Ellie Hampson, Jacquie Dupuy and Daisy D'Arcy to short term contracts

Hampson starts onfield as IC1 while D’Arcy has been named on the midfield emergency list and has also been called into the team in place of the injured Steph Chiocci.

Dupuy is ruck emergency ready to deputise for the Giants Erin McKinnon should it be required on Super Sunday.

@Pearcey47 - how good was Day 2 of the cricket?

thankfully Smith survived a dicey period and I can head to day 3 and watch a master bat, also thankfully i got a day 3 ticket not a day 4 as it is looking unlikely Monday's play will stretch for a full 6 hours

Ellie Hampson is certainly firming to be an early pick in the 2022 Midseason draft after that effort.

Interesting to note that Lima @hoschke118 and Vancouver @dmandrews were also 2-0 after the opening 2 rounds of the 2021 Premier League while fellow 2-0 side from 2021 the Legends @Pearcey47 have had a reversal and are 0-2 starting this season much more slowly.

However all is not gloomy for our 0-2 sides, as 2nd bottom team the Kickers started 2021 0-2 before reeling off a competition record 5 consecutive win streak and finished a strong 3rd on the ladder which would easily have qualified for finals had we had had a top 4.

    Bring on Round 3!
