For ORFFW Round 7 the deadline for our league for postponed matches is again 12pm Friday (Melb time) to allow for topups to be selected, from that point (ie from 12:01pm) on a first in best-dressed basis for Freo players plus any postponement match players

If a match is postponed after 12pm Friday (i.e. snap postponement on a Sunday) then awarded (average) scores will come into play.

Topups are 1:1 for affected players at the time the request is placed, scoring at normal rates (no discounting). Players with Long Term Injuries can be included in the topups calculation, however those with declared season ending injuries or unavailability (Davey, Huntington, Lutkins, Cordner, Collingwood, Brazill, Pregelj) cannot be included.

Due to timing of Round 7 GCS and Brisbane players (playing Thursday) are ineligible to be topups.

Awarded scores will be scaled at 75% of the yearly average to date.

Teams can only make 1 topup request per team per round - this becomes very important to get the timing right as if you pick your topups too early, ie from 1201pm onwards on the Friday and they aren't named in the Saturday, Sunday or Monday teams.... bad luck!!

The ORFFW round will be considered cancelled only if there are 4 or more postponements in a single round at the midday Friday deadline, as awarded scores will come into play if postponements are declared during the round.

Based on discussion behind the scenes we have decided that the following will apply for ORFFW Round 7
    • Scores for players from both sides will count for the 6 scheduled matches from Thursday 17th (Q-clash, listed as an “additional” match) to Sunday 20th (NM vs Coll)
    • Scores for Brisbane vs Melbourne will be counted for Melbourne players only, as otherwise Brisbane would have a DGW
    • We will be ignoring the scheduled Tuesday 22nd Feb match GCS vs WB as both sides play earlier in the week and we will avoid any DGW for those teams
    • Freo players will be on a bye, and receive zero for the round and topups will apply for Freo players only - except those with LTI's ruling them out for 2022 - first in, best dressed, from Friday at 12pm, which means GCS and Brisbane players are ineligible to be topups
    • Round lockout will be Saturday 710pm

Well it's early in the round but we have some scores already thanks to the Bats' strong Lions and Suns presence.

Bats are 6 for 297 (average 49.5) off Whitfort, Anderson, Conway, Bodey, Hampson and McMahon. While Galahs are 5 for 321 (average 64.2) from Blackburn, O'Dwyer (92!), Brown, Farquharson and Scheer.

More to come after the GWS game, which I'll be making in person for once, super excited!

My stats, which could change, have the Galahs on 433 and the Bats also on 433, after Carlton/St Kilda. However, the Bats have played 10 and we've played 8, so things are looking good.

Ed: An uncharacteristic 23 from Jess Hosking and 35 from Poppy Kelly sees us on 10 for 491. Bats have Riddell, Rowe and Butler to play tomorrow, while we have Bonnici and Eddey, with Heath to finish on Monday.

The visiting Sirens @Tracey have raced to a 133 point lead, 12/695 to the home side's 10/562

Manildra has Ashmore and Gavalas playing on Sunday at North Hobart Oval and will hope that they can reduce the margin or build a small lead before Kate Hore and Megan Fitzsimon complete proceedings for the respective sides in Monday night AFLW action.

The Krushers are in a world of hurt at Sunday morning with 10 players having graced the field at a total of only 506 (ave 50.6). Still have Lambert and Brown today and Goldrick tomorrow - they all need huge games!!
The Belles have pushed to 12/675 with only Schleicher to play today….

Bats appear to have gone all out for 603, while Galahs are on 12/617 with Heath to play tomorrow.

Solid games from our newish Eddey (57), fan favourite Scheer (56) and topup Hill (50) made up for a surprising 23 from J Hosking, relatively low 69 from Bonnici and our missing Fremantle players.
