Well folks, round 1 has come and gone in a flash and we have a very interesting ladder which sees the Junee Jets and Glenbrook Galahs holding the top 2 spots and the Katanning Krushers and Eastern Park Dragons languishing... But as we all know in Fantasy Footy - a week is a long time and things can change very quick (and they'd bloody want to!) Please note the manual scoring system looks like continuing for at least the next week so once again can everyone post their teams in this thread at least an hour before bouncedown between Doggies and the Power on Friday - remembering this game is at the MCG at the early time of 4.30 EST. Also coaches - it is noted that some coaches played a few players out of position in round 1 and this had been missed by admin - but it won't happen again! Remember if you play someone out of their AFLW Fantasy position they will only score at 50% - so be warned!!
And now to the matchups! Eastern Park Dragons (@YAD69) vs Glenbrook Galahs (@ver_redit_optatum) An early top v bottom clash with last weeks lowest scoring side suffering further damage with Bonnie Toogood being sidelined for at least 6 weeks. On the flipside they are back at home and after being pushed on the track the midfield is looking to lift the scoring this week. On the flipside the Galahs are riding high after seeing 3 of their team score 110+ - Nanscawen, Tighe and Goldsworthy all started their campaign macgnificently - can they keep it up? Wongan Hills Wallabies (@Schmitty) vs Katanning Krushers (@FreoDockers) The Wallabies were well held by ruck Mim Strom with a huge 133 and the hardworking Charlie Rowbottom scored 104, and although scoring nearing 800 were still soundly beaten last week. On the other hand the Krushers were... well... crushed. not a score of 100 to be seen and the coach is not happy. Some players are bloody lucky we have some injuries otherwise there could be mass changes this week. The battle of WA will see someone get the 4 points this week. Lake St Clair Devils (@dmandrews) vs Vivonne Bay Valkeries (@That KI Guy) The Valks will be looking to redeem themselves after last weeks loss and will be looking for increased numbers from their midfield, inclduing Georgie Prespakis and Tyla Hanks. Tayla Harris out with injury won't help... The Devils however came up against the Galahs and start the season without a win which they aren't used to! Their vaunted midfield of Jas Garner, Mon Conti and Claudia Whitfort were once again magnificent but they will need some help from their bench this week. Another game where someone gets off the mark! Bathurst Belles (@Len) vs Pomona Wood Nymphs (@anthak) Two strong wins for both of these teams last weeks sets up a mouthwatering clash on the Belles home turf. The travelling Nymphs will be bouyed by the strong ruck work of Sab Frederick (118) and the usual from Ebony Marinoff (121), plus the return of a fit and firing Bec Beeson. The Belles however will fancy their chances at home and although no one scored a ton last week there were plenty of contributors with 35 being their lowest player score. That sort of consistency will be need to defend their home ground. Manildra Mystix (@TheTassieHawk) vs Junee Jets (@Chloe) The ultra consistent Mystix vs the upstart Jets. This game will be a cracker!! The Jets have burst out of the blocks to start the season with the highest score last week of 965, thanks to Ash Riddell, Ally Anderson and mini-draft recruit Aishling McCarthy (133) who plays her first game against her previous club. The Mystix it appears played a warm up game around the witches hats in Round 1 so whether they needed to play that extra pre-season game or not remains to be seen. Once again lead by Amy McDonald, Maddy Prespakis and Kate Hore, the Mystix will once again be a tough matchup. An early 4 point buffer for one of these teams on top of the ladder could be handy come later in the year Timboon Trailblazers (@Peter W) vs Scone Sirens (@Tracey) The final game of the round sees Timboon at home against Scone. The Blazers were unlucky to meet the Jets in round 1 but will be all the better for the run and would be confident in getting the W at home. Abbie McKay (102) needs some help in the midfield however Alice Edmonds and Charlie Thomas put up their usual solid scores, along with a promising start from Shineah Goody. The Sirens were lucky to meet the Dragons and won with the second lowest score of round 1. They will also be looking at Anne Hatcharrd (123) to continue to lead the mids, and an injury to Shanae Davison will see at least 1 forced change. Best of luck to all in Round 2

Pomona Round 2 No change, except for a shuffle of some emergencies. It's a good midfield when Jen Bruton cant force her way into the first XIII! D: Jodie Hicks, Laura Pugh, Serene Watson (Nicole Bresnehan) M: Ebony Marinoff, Jade Ellenger, Mia King, Tilly Lucas-Rodd (Jenna Bruton) R: Sabrina Frederick (Jess Vukic) F: Courtney Hodder, Danielle Ponter, Daria Bannister (Ashleigh Saint) I: Rebecca Beeson, Lauren Pearce (Sachi Syme)
I’m somewhat regretting not starting Jenna Bruton, especially after news broke that Lauren Pearce is now out injured for 6 weeks. Bruton has a career average of 68 fpts, and ave 85 last season. I was a bit worried about her coming back from injury, and I just didn’t know who to drop. We’ll see how it plays out this week, but at least Pearce’s injury opens up a spot for her next week.
4 games in and the Wallabies lead 6/318 (ave 53) vs Krushers 3/136 (ave 45.3) The Wallabies have had to bring in Bella Lewis off the emergency list due to the late withdrawal of Emily Bates. Big Super Sunday coming up!!
