It’s time for another round with some exciting match ups ahead!

    Korean Kickers 2-0 (@Chloe) vs Kyoto Kruisers 0-2 (@FreoDockers)

The Asian Cup, The K Clash, the Father vs the Daughter - the prize? Ultimate bragging rights. The Kickers are having a stellar start to the season, with midfielder Ally Anderson the star of the show. The Kruisers are looking for their first win and a star player - who will be the one that is up to the task?

Majorca Islanders 2-0 (@TheTassieHawk) vs Stuttgart Storm 0-2 (@Jono Steven)

The Storm has been more of a drizzle so far this season and they're going to need the rest of the team to step up to star mid Charlie Rowbottom’s level, who scored 21% of the Storm’s total points last week. Meanwhile the undefeated Islanders seem to have the team balance just right, with the second highest score in Round 2.

    Quebec Caribou 2-0 (@FreeKickLiam) vs Vancouver Vultures 1-1 (@Athos123)

The Caribou had a smashing win last week and will be looking to keep up that momentum against the Vultures who just got their first win of the season. It will be a battle of the mids this game, with Jasmine Garner and Ash Riddell for the Caribou going up against Anne Hatchard and Madison Prespakis with the Vultures.

    Lima Llamas 0-2 (@hoschke118) vs All Stars 1-1 (@Corza)

The Llamas and the All Stars will be hungry for wins this week after both suffering losses in Round 2. The Llamas have been leaning on Alyce Parker for those big points, but it’s time for Brianna Davey and Mia King to get on the next level! Meanwhile the All Stars need their forward line to step it up, as Brennan, Sherriff and Bannister only scored 138 points together last week.

    Lagos Royals 0-2 (@Peter W) vs Darmstadt Dynamos 2-0 (@WillH_VI)

The Darmstadt Dynamos are Dominating this competition with the highest score last week of 974 points! Ebony Marinoff was their star of the show, finishing with the highest points in the comp with a phenomenal 191 points! The Royals have had a tough start to the season, with a lot of injuries in their forward line and unfortunately their star mid, Aisling McCarthy, was a bit mid last week.

    _ _ _ _ _

Make sure to post your teams on this thread by 6:15pm (AEST) Thursday before the Bulldogs and Eagles get their boogie on at Whitten Oval.

Aaaaand a good luck to everyone for Round 3 (and let’s hope for no more knee injuries!!)

Midway through the second quarter the Storm 5/288 @Jono Steven lead the Islanders 4/279

The visitors will be looking to extend their lead through a 5 to 4 player advantage in the 105pm games before the Islanders play their own 5 to 3 player advantage across the final two games of round 3.

The Storm remain in front 11/716 @Jono Steven to the Islanders 10/715

Stuttgart have Rowbottom and Dupuy playing in the final game and they need to match or better the Majorca trio of D'Arcy, Clayden and Goldsworthy to notch their first win of season 2024.

The Storm @Jono Steven have pulled off a tight victory prevailing 881-874 on the unofficial scoreboard thanks to the late heroics of Charlie Rowbottom.

Just a quiet 42 disposals needed by Rowbottom to save the Storm from sinking themselves!

This week's round review is once again provided by Chat GPT and inspired by John Clarke and Bryan Dawe

Premier League Round 3 Review: Clarke and Dawe Style

    Kickers 1030 def Kruisers 836
John: Good evening. The Kickers have done it again, defeating the Kruisers 1030 to 836. Bryan, it seems the Kruisers are in a bit of a pickle.

Bryan: A pickle? More like they’re in a whole jar of pickles, John. The Kickers were so good they could’ve scored with their eyes closed. The Kruisers, on the other hand, looked like they were playing with their shoes tied together.

John: And I hear the Kruisers are now planning to hire a new coach. I suggested someone who can actually teach them how to score—preferably someone who doesn’t consider a goal a rare occurrence, like a blue moon.

Bryan: That’s right, John. The Kruisers are now seeking therapy, not for their team’s performance, but for the emotional scars left by the Kickers’ relentless attacking.

Islanders 865 def by Storm 887
John: The Islanders lost to Storm by a whisker. They were defeated 887 to 865. Bryan, do you think the Islanders were just caught in a weather system they didn’t anticipate?

Bryan: Definitely, John. The Islanders were caught in the eye of the storm, but it wasn’t a pleasant calm. More like a hurricane with a side of “why-bother-trying?” Storm had them dancing like they were on a slippery floor.

John: And the Islanders? They’re now considering moving their training sessions indoors and possibly hiring a weather consultant. Their strategy clearly wasn’t storm-proof.

Caribou 875 def by Vultures 894
John: Caribou were taken down by the Vultures, 894 to 875. Bryan, it sounds like the Caribou were outmaneuvered by some sharp-eyed competitors.

Bryan: Sharp-eyed and hungry for victory, John. The Vultures swooped in and snatched the Caribou’s hopes right off their antlers. It was a bit like watching a nature documentary where the prey never stands a chance.

John: And now the Caribou are considering relocating their training camps away from the Vultures' nesting grounds. I hear they’re also investing in some top-notch camouflage.

Llamas 771 def by All Stars 823
John: The All Stars managed to defeat the Llamas 823 to 771. Bryan, it seems the Llamas were left feeling a bit woolly about their performance.

Bryan: Woolly indeed, John. The All Stars played like they were on a different planet, while the Llamas were still trying to figure out how to get out of their paddock. It’s a wonder they even managed to score, given their performance.

John: The Llamas are reportedly having a team meeting to discuss whether they need to practice more or perhaps hire a new strategist who isn’t just good at making hats.

Royals 908 def by Dynamos 975
John: Finally, the Royals were defeated by the Dynamos, 975 to 908. Bryan, it seems the Dynamos were really fired up for this one.

Bryan: Fired up doesn’t even begin to cover it, John. The Dynamos played like they were powered by a nuclear reactor. The Royals, on the other hand, looked like they were still in their royal pajamas.

John: And the Royals are now facing a royal dilemma—whether to upgrade their training facilities or just rename themselves “The Slightly Confused.”

Bryan: The Dynamos are in a different league altogether. They’re not just lighting up the scoreboard; they’re considering an energy efficiency program for their next match. They’ve been so good, they might even start charging for tickets to their practice sessions!

John: Well, it’s been another eventful round. Tune in next week to see if the Llamas manage to find their groove or if the Dynamos continue their electrifying run. Good night!

Lots of movement on the updated ladder:-

And please note that we are ignoring the Tuesday and Wednesday matches in weeks 4 to 7 and hope to get Round threads up by late Tuesday or early Wednesday each week so that we avoid rushing to name our teams before Thursday night footy each week, with the full round 4 lockout at 1205pm Saturday.
