Round 5 is here and the competition continues to heat up! Vancouver Vultures 2-2 (@Athos123) vs Lima Llamas 0-4 (@hoschke118) After a strong start the Vultures may be losing steam, but they will be looking to turn that around against an injury plagued Llamas. The Llamas are still searching for that first win, but it still seems like it might be out of sight with so many big names still looking unlikely to return. The Vultures on the other hand will be trying to find a star forward to permanently take the place of Jones who is confirmed out for the season. Quebec Caribou 3-1 (@FreeKickLiam) vs Lagos Royals 1-3 (@Peter W) The Caribou are continuing to chase the top spot, with their strong midfield leading the charge off the back of their Roo duos stellar performances. The Royals got a win on their score board last week and will be hoping to build some momentum on the back of it, especially with star McCarthy performing well on their return last week. Stuttgart Storm 2-2 (@Jono Steven) vs Korean Kickers 4-0 (@Chloe) The Kickers sit on the top of the ladder after a close result against the All Stars. The Storm have been trying to turn their season around with two back to back wins. This could be a match up to watch. Will the resurgent Storm do the teams chasing that number one spot a favour and take down the undefeated Kickers. Shierlaw will be playing after being rested on Wednesday, which could see her being a dominant force for the Kickers. All Stars 2-2 (@Corza) vs Kyoto Kruisers 0-4 (@FreoDockers) The Kruisers had their closest loss of the season so far, continuing their rough patch. The All Stars though will be looking for an easier kill after coming close to beating a surging Kickers team! The All Stars will likely be looking for the forward pack to build a big score this week. The Kruisers will be hurting though after Peterson went down in her last match with a shoulder injury, we will have to see how their structure holds up in defence without the veteran. Majorca Islanders 3-1 (@TheTassieHawk) vs Darmstadt Dynamos 3-1 (@WillH_VI) The Dynamos have been consistently posting huge scores despite a loss last week. Similarly the Islanders are making their mark on the competition, standing out as one to beat. Both teams posted 970+ results last week making this a match to watch. Keep an eye out to see if Bonnici makes a come back from her injury this week, as in a match up this close the gun mid could make all the difference for the Dynamos. The Dynamos could be in trouble however if the Islanders young stars Ella Roberts and Eliza McNamara continue the dominant form they have shown over the last few weeks. _ _ _ _ _ Make sure to post your teams on this thread by 7:15pm (AEST) Thursday with the Cats vs Hawks kicking us off. Full Premier League round lockout is 730pm Friday. Full fixture and 2024 Round Thread allocations can be found here: http://tooserious.net/forum/threads/2024-premier-league-fixture-thread.91701/
Alright I have posted twice and not knowing this site am struggling to find the delete thread option! In the mean time please use this one rather than having responses shared between the two.
Cheers @Athos123 in the post you made in the other (duplicate) thread there should be a delete post option if so I reckon if you delete the post the duplicate thread may also disappear, otherwise if that doesn’t work a site admin will press the kill thread button
Delete post doesn't seem to show up on posts that start threads, I have labelled my shame pretty clearly though so not too concerned about anyone being mislead. Good luck to all, hope its an exciting round!

@Jono Steven @WillH_VI given the first match has been played players from that game are locked into the same positions as last week, this will apply progressively on Friday until round lockout at 715pm Could both teams please post their full teams at some stage prior or post the round lockout even if unchanged from the previous week,or have a proxy do this on their behalf because I am finding it is quite painful/time consuming to have to navigate between threads in order to confirm the previous week's team when manually calcing all 10 team scores each round.for the next 3 weeks.

The Dynamo 9/603 @WillH_VI lead the Islanders 7/521 midway through the 3rd quarter. The Islanders will look to reduce the lead through a 5 to 4 advantage in the 305pm Sunday games before Gab Pound runs out unopposed in the final game of round 5 to complete proceedings.
The final unofficial score ended with the Islanders 1063 defeating the Dynamos 936 and both teams now prepare for the midseason delist and draft period this week.
The Premier League round review for round 5 is brought to you by ChatGPT In the land of the pitch where the Vultures took flight, They swooped on the Llamas, a glorious sight! With a score of 903 to 747, they soared high with glee, While the Llamas just spat hay, “We’re not meant to be!” The Caribou charged, with a powerful run, Defeating the Royals, oh what a fun! A score of 1025 to 825 made the crowd go wild, While the Royals just pondered, “Is this how we’re styled?” The Storm blew in, with a thunderous score, Leaving the Kickers in tatters on the floor. 993 to 863, a powerful clash, The Kickers just kicked back, “Oh well, what a bash!” All Stars shone bright, with a dazzling display, They cruised past the Kruisers, who had a rough day. 930 to 662, it was quite the parade, The Kruisers were left, in a bewildered charade! But wait! There’s more in this football tale, The Dynamos struggled, they couldn’t prevail. With a score of 934, they took quite a fall, While the Islanders danced, scoring 1068 – they had a ball! So here’s to the teams, both mighty and meek, In this wild Premier League, it’s all quite unique. From Vultures to Caribou, Storms to All Stars, Round 5 had us laughing, like a game full of czars! The ladder after Round 5 sees a 3 way tie for 1st and a 4 way tie for 4th-7th, with the Royals needing a big final fortnight to challenge for a top 6 position and the Kruisers and Llamas now resigned to their role in shaping the finals and jostling for the early picks in the 2025 Premier League preseason draft.
