It's here! The grand final is on this weekend and a huge congratulations to @anthak and @Schmitty for getting the Wood Nymphs and Wallabies to the last day in October (or first weekend in November) This will be a truly exciting game with the two highest scoring teams in the league this year that will hopefully see defence thrown out the window and some big scores being posted. The Wood Nymphs are led by the superhuman Ebony Marinoff who has averaged a ridiculous 165 this year and has been the game breaker a number of times. With a breakout year in defence from Serene Watson, and a solid support cast from Bec Beeson, Tilly Lucas-Rodd and Jade Ellenger and others at different times, the Wood Nymphs have managed to be ultra consistent with their scoring. The Wallabies just missed the finals last year and have improved in leaps and bounds this year (get it? Wallabies? oh never mind) Consistently big scores from Charlie Rowbottom, Ella Roberts and Mim Strom have seen the Wallabies win more than their fair share of games this year and they will be tough to beat. The two teams met in Round 1 this year with the Nymphs taking all the chocolates 869 to 797 with Marinoff and Sabrina Frederick scoring 100+ for the Nymphs and Strom and Rowbottom 100+ for the Wallabies. Best of luck to the finalists! In the other matches this weekend, the final placings for the TS interleague knockout for 2025 sees the following matchups Krushers @FreoDockers vs Galahs @ver_redit_optatum Valkeries @That KI Guy vs Trailblazers @Peter W Can all 6 coaches please post their teams prior to bouncedown of the Cats v Crows match Friday night
Timboon Trailblazers: DEF: Charlotte Thomas, Maddi Gay, Sarah Goodwin (Tess Craven) MID: Lucy Single, Abbie McKay, Tarni White, Jasmine Fleming (Alicia Eva) RUC: Alice Edmonds (Fleur Davies) FWD: Bec Privitelli, Niamh McLaughlin, Dakota Davidson (Mia Austin) INT: Kaitlyn Srhoj, Shineah Goody (Mikayla Williamson) OTHERS: Brooke Barwick, Isabella Grant, Chloe Molloy (injured)
The Krushers are still aiming for a good spot in the TS interleague for next year. The lineup against the Galahs will look like this: Def: Madi Scanlon, Eilish Sheerin, Lucy Cronin (Mackenzie Eardley) Mid: Hayley Miller, Mimi Hill, Jaimee Lambert, Bess Keaney (Hannah Priest) Ruck: Lauren Bella Fwd: Issy Huntington, Aishling Moloney, Katie Brennan (Mikayla Pauga) IC: Lily Goss, Kaitlyn Ashmore (Lily Johnson) Unavailable: Bri Davey, Darcy Moloney, Darcie Davies, Jess Rentsch, Ash Brazill
Pomona Wood Nymphs - Grand Final team Subject to change In: Tilly Lucas-Rodd, Lauren Pearce, Brooke Brown Out: Jenna Bruton, Sachi Syme, Laura Pugh D: Serene Watson, Nicole Bresnehan, Brooke Brown (Jodie Hicks) M: Ebony Marinoff, Mia King, Jade Ellenger, Tilly Lucas-Rodd (Sachi Syme) R: Sabrina Frederick (Lexi Hamilton) F: Courtney Hodder, Danielle Ponter, Ashleigh Saint (Daria Bannister) I: Bec Beeson, Lauren Pearce (Laura Pugh) I think Jenna Bruton is our only player unavailable for selection. She is a big loss, but we've been able to name a strong side for the final game of the season. Notably, Brooke Brown comes in for her first game of the season in the grand final after a few games in the reserves coming back from injury. Good luck @Schmitty it's fitting that the two highest scoring teams across the season have won through to the grand final, and hopefully we can put on a good show

Saturday's games are done, and the progress scores are: Wallabies - 381/5/76.2 Wood Nymphs - 452/7/64.6 Its very close at half time, but the Wallabies have started stronger with more players to play tomorrow! Saturday Demons vs Pies 1:05pm Wallabies: none Wood Nymphs: Lauren Pearce 47, Sabrina Frederick 68 Swans vs Eagles 3:05pm Wallabies: Cynthia Hamilton 76, Ella Roberts 78 (Isabella Lewis 76 emergency) Wood Nymphs: (Lexi Hamilton 53 emergency) Roos vs Suns 5:05pm Wallabies: Charlie Rowbottom 99 (Tara Bohanna 24 emergency) Wood Nymphs: Nicole Bresnehan 45, Mia King 101 Blues vs Bombers 7:15pm Wallabies: Georgia Gee 91, Harriet Cordiner 37 Wood Nymphs: Brooke Brown 54 (Daria Bannister 76 emergency)
Sunday Saints vs Lions 1:05pm Wallabies: Tyanna Smith 56, Taylor Smith 42 Wood Nymphs: Serene Watson 69, Jade Ellenger 49, Courtney Hodder 49
That makes it Wallabies - 479/7/68.4 Wood Nymphs - 619/10/61.9 I’ve got a bit of a lead due to having had more players play already, but it’s super close. @Schmitty
Wallabies have 4 players playing in the game starting now, to the Wood Nymphs 1… so we’ll both have had 11 play after this game
Tigers vs Hawks 3:05pm Wallabies: Jenna Richardson 68, Eliza West 80, Beth Lynch 58, Emily Bates 41 (Kate Dempsey 74 emergency) Wood Nymphs: Tilly Lucas-Rodd 57 (Jodie Hicks 32 emergency) scores at 3 qtr time Wallabies - 726/11/66.0 Wood Nymphs - 676/11/61.5 The Wallabies have a handy lead heading into the final quarter and I think they will be able to hold on for the win! But there's still some strong players to finish off the game for both sides so we'll see how it plays out @Schmitty
Looks like I'll put up my lowest team score all season this week, following a trend of the last few weeks. My lowest score of the season so far was 837 in the semi last week, and my next lowest score of the season was 856 the week before. So now I think I will get my lowest score of the season for the third week in a row! I need to be smarter with my season-long training and conditioning plans.
Power vs Giants 4:05pm Wallabies: Abbey Dowrick DNP Wood Nymphs: Ashleigh Saint 63, Bec Beeson 132 (Sachi Syme 43 emergency) With Dowrick not playing as a late-out, Dempsey has been activated and she scored 74
Progress scores Wallabies - 800/12/66.7 Wood Nymphs - 871/13/67 Bec Beeson helped us put up a decent total, bettering our lowest season score by 34 points! Mim Strom is the only player left to play, and it looks like she’s done enough to win the game for the Wallabies! She might even end up BOG! Im fairly sure my calcs are correct, so well done @Schmitty ! It was a great game. I got off to a good lead with more players playing early, but I always suspected you’d rein it in and come out on top. It’s very well deserved, you’ve got a great team and have had a very good season.
The Grand final scores have been tallied and as indicated by the coaches a huge congratulations go to @Schmitty for guiding the Wallabies to their maiden premiership by defeating the Wood Nymphs 962 to 868. Huge performance from Mim Strom on the last game of the round to top score with 166. The Wallabies are very deserving winners this year and will hold the FW cup for the next 12 months Other results for the TS interleague knockout were the Galahs over the Krushers and the Trailblazers over the Valkeries. Final results will be posted on the results page later today
