That's great news about Conca. Could be a nice little earner.

The drawback is we won't be able to see him again until Round 1, or more importantly where Hardwick plays him. Will be a punt, but possibly a worthwhile one.

The bigger concern for mine is his bye; BJ, Scotland, Lids, Birchal, Newman, Bock, Fisher, Conca all have a round 13 bye, surely you can only have 3 of the above in your team? - and even that relies on a D/M link in your midfield to avoid a 0.

Following on from above, and then only one mid with a Rd13 bye.

    @NTS
Having mentioned the Newman bye in another thread and seeing it mentioned again here, I just wanted to clarify my view.
IMO spreading out byes is a relatively small factor to be assessed - to be used if you can't separate players in other ways.
I wouldn’t be ignoring Newman just because I had Lids, BJ and Scotland in the team and they shared a bye. I would ignore him if I thought there was a similar option to Newman with a different bye (e.g. Shaw).

Also, I don't think the DPP's will be overly helpful but can't hurt. There'll be problems in all positions which need covering at the same time.

A famous tea-leaf reader once told me "be cautious of having more than one Richmond player in your SC team". Last year I made the dreadful mistake of adding JRoo to Lids, and this year of course we have already been teased with the prospect of Dusty and his new-found MPP status. I like Lids, I like Dusty. Thats plenty.

Feb is an historically great month for Tiger fans and many charitable words will be printed about upside potential, midfield rotations etc. Newman, Conca and a few young'uns who are being punted are not on this little black duck's radar.

    Enright or Broughton

My gut is saying Enright, but I've read in a few places that he's been training with the midfield group...? rumors or any truth to it...

atm I am on Enright, having been uncomfortably on Broughton.

Would be a good thumbs up thumbs down on the discussion post at some point

With broughton, its either 120+ or 50. Enright, lock in 90-110. Enright for me

    How about Adcock vs Broughton?

    Adcock again on consistency?

Last year I noticed a direct correlation in Adcock's "lower" scores to when Merrett was out of the side. With Merrett out he had to be a more accountable backman and had fewer midfield rotations.

With merrett in the side Adcock averaged 22 disposals and 98.3SC
Without merrett in the side Adcock averaged just 18 disposals and 82.6SC

If Merrett is track for round 1 I'd be picking Adcock.

Fisher v newman? Newman gets kick ins which help his score, but fisher is very consistent and often drops back and takes contested marks. Finding it hard to split these two.

Out of the 2 - I would pick Fisher, he looked great in the NAB and he is a super reliable back. Just be cautious with either in the regards to the round 13 bye.

Who is a great buy for around 114,900? I'm messing with my back line but its so hard so far I have:

    1. Scotland
    2. Adcock
    3. Conca
    4. Tarrant
    5. Warnock
    6. Hunt
    7. Webberley

Am I making a big mistake having 2 Tigers and 2 GCS? Any help would be grand!

2 of one team in one position is usually a no no, but if you read up on Impromptu's winning team - he definitely didn't do it playing by the rules. It will make life tricky during the byes, but if you're going for leagues that doesnt matter.

my opinion is: breaking that rule is also ok if you're going to use 1 or both as cashcows early in the season.

meanwhile, look at some of the cheap defenders from GWS like bugg or darley with your spare 114.

According to some Richmond experts Webberly is a fringe player. I wouldn't want a fringe player as my D7.

I reckon you need some more premiums in there too. Can't see Hunt and Warnock scoring well at all.

Thanks so much for the guidance chaps! Everyday I'm shuffling. I've totally changed my defence line up until I start wondering again. I just want the lock out to come before I loose my freaking mind!
