Yeah, Lenny Hayes, what a way to go out. BoG and then announces retirement. Lets hope he finishes off the season strong.

Brent Harvey has pretty much wrapped up the Blimps' Best and Fairest after his BOG on the weekend ... hoping for a top 10 finish in the Les W as well.

Callan Ward polled two votes in Round 15 to reduce clubhouse leader Gary Ablett's margin to three votes with two rounds remaining. In each of his last 10 games from Round 6 onwards Ward has polled at least two votes so he is definitely the favourite to win the award. The battle for the Les W. Medal is down to these two players after third placed Scott Pendlebury failed to poll a vote for the second week in a row. The next three players on the leaderboard all had best afield performances to make the battle for third extremely tight. Tom Rockliff is in third position on 34 votes with Dayne Beams and Matt Priddis in equal fifth on 33 votes. The 13 players with at least 23 votes look safe to finish on the season ending leaderboard, however it is very close from 15th to 26th with 12 players on 19 or 20 votes. Early season pace-setter Arron Sandilands is in 14th position on 21 votes and may need to poll one more vote to ensure he finishes in the top 25. After not polling a vote in the first 13 RoundsLilac Jake Carlise has been the form player of the last two rounds to be best afield in both games. The two next best performed players in Round 14 & 15 with a total of nine votes are Steve Johnson, and Lenny Hayes who announced his retirement days before the Round 14 game and with sensational form has moved his tally to 20 votes and onto the Les W Medal leaderboard. <p itxtNodeId='3740' itxtHarvested='0]Provisional Leaderboard after15 Rounds - Top 25, at least19 votes <p itxtNodeId='3740' itxtHarvested='0] <p itxtNodeId='3740' itxtHarvested='0] <table width='535' style='width: 403pt;' border='0' cellspacing='0' cellpadding='0] <col width='57' style='width: 43pt;[/img]<col width='206' style='width: 155pt;[/img]<col width='193' style='width: 145pt;[/img]<col width='33' style='width: 25pt;[/img]<col width='46' style='width: 35pt;[/img]

Nat Fyfe has probably secured the five votes for the round already after posting a 171. The accidental head clash in round 2 which saw him rubbed out for two weeks may well have cost him both the Les W and the Brownlow. Can only hope that at just 23 years old his chance will come again (and again, and again, and again ....).

C'mon Callan, we need some kind of trophy to put in that Ikea display cabinet! Reckon Callan might be in the box seat, especially with a couple of his teammates going down for the rest of the year with injury (Whitfield, Coniglio). Seriously hope so Chris, something to keep the sponsors happy and warm the managers heart...

He is a legend in the making, and he may have been 'unlucky' to miss the Brownlow this year, but Ablett will be the really unlucky LW participant if Callan goes past him, and I don't see Nat making up 20 points in 2 games ;) Happily swap him for almost any trade you name :p

Wasn't his greatest game, but some of the things he did were stunning. Clearance work was a highlight. Appropriately he appears to have now taken the lead in the Les W as well.

The Little Master has told me he is happy that for anyone to win it that Callan Ward has. Gary Jr is a big fan of the way Ward goes about his footy with a tough determination and leadership that makes him a great player for kids to idolise. He will happily hand over the award on the night of nights to the new king. (but we all know Gaz would have pissed it in if he hadnt got hurt! :p )

[span style='font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 16px;]I am a little confused Dean. The coach of the opponents (in this case TiB as coach of the WSW) has the choice about which WKI player gets the higher number of votes?

There is a very good reason for your confusion Chels, I made a mistake. The coach of the players involved in the tie-breaker gets to decide which player wins the tie-breaker, and I am well aware of which team you and TiB eachcoach so I can't explain why I put the wrong coaches name. Anyway, I have corrected my Round 16 votes postabove, Chels, you can choose who you want to win the tie-breaker, Sam Jacobs or Brad Crouch.

Thanks Dean, If only all my confusion was so easily explained! Two votes to Sauce please, one to young Brad. I think the latter will pick up a few Les W votes over the next 10 years, the former might just do so also.
